He Nan held Xingxing, gently knocked on the door, and after a short while, a voice of a woman in her fifties came from inside.
"Who is it?"
As the voice faded, it wasn't long before an elegantly dressed woman opened the door. Seeing Shen Mianmian and He Nan, she paused and asked, "Who are you looking for?"
"We're friends of Tang Ling," Shen Mianmian said softly.
Upon hearing this, the woman immediately asked, "You're Xiaoling's friends? Then, do you know where she is now? The newspapers have been reporting that she's not dead, but why doesn't she come back? We went looking for her but found no trace."
Hearing this, Shen Mianmian and He Nan exchanged a surprised glance. Had Tang Ling not returned even once?
"Auntie, may we come in to talk?" Shen Mianmian asked gently.
"Of course, of course," Tang's mother nodded repeatedly, "I got so excited I forgot to invite you inside."
