As for why the Mother Empress was exiled instead of killed for a hundred years in the void, the only reason was to avoid alerting the enemy for the time being.
The combined movements of the three would be too large, and if a great battle broke out, it would be impossible to hide it from other powerful beings.
But a trap is different; the Nihility Star Domain is originally a place ravaged by Void Turbulence, so any accident would not attract attention, as such events are not unprecedented.
