Davian watched Lake nap at the kitchen island under the guise of watching him prepare lunch. He had tried to convince him to wait somewhere more comfortable, but Lake had been adamant.
So the Omega was sprawled across the marble countertop, wearing one of his dress shirts and comfortable pajama bottoms. He let Lake nap in the kitchen, knowing that this was the only time he could have his mate being so clingy.
When they returned to Haines in a week, Lake would be too busy to hang off his arm all day, and insist on keeping him company.
Davian hadn't told him about the call he had gotten from Jael regarding Rosie, he knew their secretary was safe, but there were times he genuinely considered ending the vacation early for her sake. After all, she was part of the family now, and Lake no doubt missed the life they left behind.
