I'll skip the messy and long part. To cut the story short, it turns out that the person that Lucas wanted to get his revenge on was a very important member of the country. And he wasn't even a bad person; Lucas's parents were. Sadly, things weren't so black and white in our world.
Lucas still wanted revenge so he eventually turned against the country. As one of the top elites at the time, I was tasked with stopping him. And killing, if necessary.
