Dorian looked at Paul whose face was slightly red and sweat was dripping from his forehead "I thought you said you could handle at least ten at once?"
Paul groaned lightly "There are a dozen here and my limit is seven while my expanding limit is ten, I'm already pushing myself so just get rid of them already"
Dorian was suddenly curious "What expanding limit?"
Paul replied "It means from that number, I will start to feel a fraction of the pain I incur into their bodies"
Dorian's eyes widened and he opened a portal on the ground and used his psychic ability to send them
They both got down from the tree and Paul stretched his arms "I thought you said you can't use your psychic ability when opening a portal"
Dorian didn't reply and Paul turned around only to see him grabbing his head as blood dropped on the ground while he knelt with his head down
Paul rushed back to him and noticed the bleeding coming from his nose as his nose mask was stained with blood which leaked from it "Ian! W-what happened! Did you overexert yourself again!?"
Dorian took a deep breath and raised his head up after a few seconds then gently held Paul's hand which was holding him with worry "I'm fine now, just a slight headache and little bleeding"
Paul stated "That did not look like a slight headache to me and you're still bleeding!"
Dorian took off the nose mask then used it to clean the blood wore another one then set it on fire with the lighter on the side of the back and dropped its ashes on the ground then turned to smile at Paul "Better?"
Paul was about to reply when someone shouted "Raise up your hands! In the name of the law!"
The duo looked towards the sound of that voice only to see a policeman drop a bag of takeouts and point a gun at them
Dorian scoffed and was about to use his ability on him when the guy passed out almost instantly on the ground then Dorian turned to look at Paul in surprise
Paul knew what he wanted to ask "I can knock at least one person out. You already strained yourself and we're not even in the temple yet"
Dorian used his psychic to pull the bag and gun towards them as he stood up "Then let's go in, keep the gun and put the takeouts in the bag"
Paul raised an eyebrow "What do we need the food for?"
Dorian shrugged "We can never not need food, I guess"
Paul rolled his eyes but did as he said anyways then the duo walked over to the pit, held each other's hands and jumped down
It had not even been a minute when they landed roughly on the ground but Dorian had shielded Paul so he was the only one that received the impact
After walking for a while, they heard a voice "A-are you guys here to help?"
The duo turned to see a boy hiding behind a rock and a river a meter behind him with a stony bridge over it
The two of them recognized the boy from earlier but his bodyguards were nowhere to be found so Paul went to meet him but he cowered in fear "Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you. I'm just a teenager too, my name is Paul and poker faced prick over there is Dorian"
Dorian wanted to go to the river but the boy hurriedly went to hug his waist in an effort to stop him "D-don't go there.. there are man-eating t-tentacles that grab you into the water to f-feast on you. T-they took away B-ben and everyone e-else"
The young boy sobbed on Dorian's back and Paul tried to comfort him "There there, you'll be fine"
The young boy sniffed and let go of Dorian "My name is Felix and I'm twelve"
Dorian examined the place which for some reason was not too dim for an underground cave well at least they could see that only rocks surrounded them and it seems like the only way to get out was to pass the stream because he couldn't even spot the hole they jumped into
Dorian said "Before those people call for backup, we should get a move on it"
Paul nodded and threw a rock onto the Stony bridge then the tentacles flooded the bridge but when they found no victim, they drew back into the water
Feliz was about to scream but Dorian covered his mouth swiftly "Shush, Feline"
Feliz nodded and Dorian released him "It's Feliz though"
Dorian shrugged "Doesn't matter. Paw, I can get us to the other side of the river since I can spot the end of it"
Paul remarked "What end? I can only see water though"
Dorian smirked "I have better eyesight"
Paul pouted and Dorian laughed "Come on, let's go"
When Dorian tore the air apart with his bare hands and another place appeared within the area he tore open, Feliz eyes widened in stupor "W-what?"
Dorian rolled his eyes and pushed the boy in who immediately froze in air then Paul lightly hit Dorian's shoulder and said as they went in "Be gentle with the boy, he's probably traumatized by what he has experienced"
Paul recalled something and took it out of the bag "Feliz, you hungry?"
Feliz snapped back to reality "Yes please"
Feliz started eating then Dorian decided to scout the area for any danger but Paul pulled him back "We go together"
Dorian looked at Paul and sighed then nodded while Feliz secretly glanced at Dorian who was looking softly at Paul
Dorian noticed Feliz gaze on Paul and tried not to shout at him "Hey, Feline, eyes off, he's mine"
And that made Paul's face flush in embarrassment then he pushed Dorian away slightly "D-don't say things like that in front of the boy"
Dorian shrugged and Feliz was still surprised 'W-what? A b-boy and a boy.. dating? Mama always told me about this, never thought I'd see this in real life'
Feliz just gulped and looked down while eating
Dorian was about to say something when a screech sounded behind him and he opened a portal in defense luckily for his fast reflexes, he was able to avoid a stabbing attack by a huge three meter black spider
Paul used his power to stop the spider in track before it could attack "You two, get out of here quick!"
Feliz was still flabbergasted and the corn dog had fallen from his hand but Dorian grabbed him and ran away
When they got far, Dorian portaled back to get Paul and kicked the spider towards the water then portaled back to Feliz who was about to be eaten by a snake
Dorian grunted as he rested Paul against the wall because he was already weakened "Feline boy, are you a magnet of doom?"
Feliz couldn't reply and just closed his eyes awaiting his fate
Dorian brought out his knives and sent them out with his psychity
(I'm tired of saying psychic ability so I shortened it to psychity)
Dorian used his knives stabbed in the snake which made it let go of Feliz and he rushed to catch before he fell then his knees scrapped against the broken gem shards on the ground which made him groan in pain
He removed his knives and portaled the snake who wanted to attack them towards the water which was later eaten up by whatever was in it
Dorian threw Feliz towards Paul as he used his psychity to lift himself but blood rushed out of his knees as he did that, he strained his will and stood eventually not before falling back to the ground and passing out
Paul rushed to Dorian and was frightened by the amount of blood that gushed out of the open injuries on his knees so Paul took off his cardigan and tried to stop the bleeding
Feliz was shocked stiff by the blood then when he saw Paul trying to help the unconscious Dorian, he ran away
Paul was surprised that Feliz ran away and wanted to call for him back "Feliz, don't go back to the water"
Dorian heard the noise and woke up but grunted in pain "He ran away eh? Because of the blood? Ungrateful"
Paul was happy Dorian woke up and said "Don't say that, he must have been scared, he'll be back when he is no more afraid, I'm sure"
Dorian pursed his lips as the injuries stung him hard 'I'm sure I ruptured a vein'
Dorian was getting paler and paler
Lane had just successfully and surprisingly put Lilac to sleep so he sat with Milky on his lap as he looked towards the moon "Ian and Paw are having all the fun there while I'm stuck here
Suddenly he heard a blast come from the living room and stood on guard while Milky climbed the table and hissed towards the direction of the door
Lane immediately carried Lilac and was about to take his phone so he could call his uncle but the ruckus was coming nearer 'I don't know if I can beat them so according to Ian, I should run'
He jumped down with Lane and Milky in his arms but slowed down their fall when they got closer to the ground
Lane looked back and saw men in black jumping down the window so he made haste and ran away
He got into the nearest boutique and hid in one of the dressing rooms 'What to do.. They seem to be about eight.. ehnn I can't beat them by myself. All I can is slow people down... Maybe I can use it to my advantage like Paul always said and use the hammer too'
Lilac woke up and looked around puzzledly while Milky climbed onto his shoulders then he had an idea
The shadow men barged into the boutique in search of them then Lane rushed out to attract their attention then ran towards a secluded area well more like an abandoned park far from the suburbs of the city
Lane stopped and the shadow men stopped as they were being wary
Two attacked him with shadow blades and suddenly, lasers knocked them out which stunned the other four
It was Lilac who was in a bag bag which Lane wore upfront
The other four snapped out of their thoughts then Lane slowed them down and turned his back towards them and shouted "Milky! Now!"
A grenade popped up in front of the four and blasted them into pieces then contained the explosion into the ground which made the ground tremble but Lane has climbed up a sturdy tree
Lane grinned as he ruffled excited little Lilac's hair and caressed Milky who purred in satisfaction "Dealt with that one pretty well"
Then some dude came out of nowhere "Seen your little tricks boy, won't work on me"
Lane gulped "Oh no"
Feliz rushed back with smashed herbs in his hands and suddenly applied it on Dorian's injury which stung him hard that he punched Feliz on the chest out of reflex which knocked the boy out before he could finish applying the paste as he hit his head against the wall behind him
Paul couldn't take it in at once and just froze for a second "W-what just happened?"
Dorian grabbed the ground as his eyes shot open in anguish "Argh!! It hurts!!"
Paul rushed to him first "I-ian, what's wrong? Y-your injury, it's not bleeding!"
When the pain subsided, all the bleeding had stopped and Dorian's leg was looking a bit greenish maybe because of the paste but at least he could move and the swelling had gone down
Paul and Dorian looked at each other in amazement then at Feliz who had fallen unconscious
Paul sighed "He helped you and you knocked him out"
Dorian pursed his lips "It's not my fault. I just acted out of reflex"
Paul went to go get Feliz and dragged him to Dorian's side against the wall then sprayed water on his face to wake up which worked
Feliz shook "Huh?"
Then a sharp pain hit him in his head which made him grab his head and try not to shout as he bit his lips hard which made blood trickle
Paul was worried "Feliz, you okay?"
Feliz nodded and raised his head after the stinging pain reduced "Yes"
Paul saw the blood on his lips and glared at Dorian who sighed
Dorian said to Feliz "Hey, I'm sorry for punching you out of your senses earlier, it was totally unintentional"
Feliz nodded "N-no it's absolutely fine, I get it"
Dorian nodded and patted Feliz's hair "Glad you understand"
Paul also patted Feliz's hair "You alright?'
Feliz cheeks heated up slightly as he widened his eyes then looked to the ground and nodded
Dorian hurriedly retracted his hand and removed Paul's hand then looked at him "Happy?"
Paul nodded and gave him a peck on the cheeks "Yes, you're being nice now"
Dorian smirked and Paul lightly hit his shoulder "No no, you're injured and we're in an underground cave, don't even think about teasing me here besides Feliz is here"
Feliz saw and heard everything 'I have to stop thinking about him like this'
Then screams were heard behind them and a barrage of gun shots immediately after
Paul and Dorian looked at each other as they said in unison "Run"
Feliz was still in confusion when Paul was about to carry him on his back and Dorian stopped him "I'll carry him, you'll run slower if you carry someone besides you're still a bit weak no matter how hard you try to deny it. No offense, literally"
Paul rolled his eyes "So what? You're gonna carry him? But you're injured"
Dorian shrugged "I can take it, you trust me right?"
The barrage of gunshots stopped which meant they had killed the river beast and passed the bridge and Paul decided not to waste time and just let Dorian carry Feliz
When Dorian piggybacked Feliz and started running with Paul, Feliz spoke up "But I can walk just fine"
Dorian said "Shut up"
Feliz kept quiet in that instant
A huge sleeping Tarantula stopped them on the way and they heard the special forces men get closer so they decided to hide behind a boulder on the side
Dorian gently set Feliz down and used one hand to cover his mouth and the other to hold Paul's hand as they stared into each other's eyes then nodded and stayed alert in case the fight came to them
Lilac kept shooting lasers at the huge stone guy and Milky kept puking grenades at him while Lane tried to slow him down but grunted as none of it was working
Lane stopped Lilac and Milky then sighed "I don't know how to use it yet"
Lane brought out his hammer and let it increase to three meters "But I guess I have to learn it on you!"
The stone guy and Lane ran towards each other as Lane lifted up the hammer while Lilac was sucking on her thumb and Milky took a nap on Lane's shoulder
Yilao and Molly were about to board their plane when Molly's phone rang "Alert! Alert! The penthouses are on fire!"
They both looked at each other in fright "The kids!!"
They left the airport and rented a car in a hurry then drove back home fretting along the way
Yilao who was driving said to Molly "Call Jack, maybe he can update us on the situation"
Molly nodded as she fumbled through her handbag and took out her phone to call her husband
Meanwhile, the special forces team had stumbled upon the tarantula and accidentally woke it up which started another battle
Dorian tried to look for another way for them to leave the area and get ahead of the special forces when Paul said "H-how about we leave this to them and just try to go back the way we came at least we would be alive"
Dorian was surprised by that "We already came in here, we can't turn back, all of this would have been for naught, Lane would also feel disappointed, he was the one looking forward to this the most and now we are doing it for him, if we go back with nothing, poor guy's gonna have a mental breakdown"
Paul sighed "Alright, fine"
Lane whined as he carried Lilac and Milky while trying to get away from the huge stone guy that won't stop chasing after them "I'm gonna have a mental breakdown!!"
