Shen Yi had reached a state of indifference in the end.
Whatever made her happy, really.
...
At the end of September, it was Ye Wanwan and Shen Yi's wedding anniversary.
Over the years, Shen Yi had never forgotten it. Even if, over so many years, there wasn't really any gift left to give, Shen Yi would still prepare a gift for Ye Wanwan and take her out for a romantic candlelit dinner.
This year was no exception.
When Ye Wanwan woke up in the morning, she received flowers from Shen Yi, flowers that, upon seeing, she immediately knew what they were about.
They were all grown by Shen Yi himself in the garden downstairs.
After breakfast, Shen Yi took Ye Wanwan out again.
"Where are we going?" Ye Wanwan asked, curious.
Shen Yi said, "Booked a photography studio."
"Photography studio?" Ye Wanwan seemed puzzled, then continued, "For taking pictures?"
"Mm." Shen Yi nodded.
Ye Wanwan smiled, leaned closer to Shen Yi, and took his arm, "Wedding photos?"
