Tequila appeared on Earth about sixty million years ago, originally a crop native to the Americas. Its leaf fibers can be used to make burlap and ropes, and its fruit is fermented into alcohol.
According to local elders' legends, the jungle's "serpent's blood" Tequila was the primordial seed bestowed by the Feathered Serpent God. Serpents in the forest consumed the sap from the Tequila fruit, becoming favored kin of the Feathered Serpent. These serpents gained immortality, shed their skin to evolve endlessly, and ultimately grew into enormous Jungle Pythons, avatars of the Feathered Serpent possessing wisdom and divine power, reigning as sovereigns of the jungle kingdom.
