Chapter 33 - Chapter 1: Recovering

"""While I was dying. 999 and 111 invited me to play in their dimension. They hosted me and gave me many more abilities. One of them is that my reflex ability is now enhanced with high durability. Then, thanks to Nerville's regeneration, it became stronger.

As soon as I opened my eyes. I was in a very spacious room. I tried to sit on the edge of the bed but it was difficult. Nerville appeared beside me, "Don't worry, you will recover in 3 more days. You'll be able to move tomorrow."

A servant entered, saw me open my eyes. She ran out of this room. I heard hurried footsteps approaching.

"Oh, it must be them." I said to myself.

Bang!

The door opened, Iris arrived first. But I didn't see Kuti among the people who wanted to see me. I felt someone enter through the window of this room. Iris ran towards me. But I felt someone gripping my hand tightly.

"Ku-Kuti?" I asked softly.

Thud!

Iris bumped into Kuti who was in her camouflage mode. Kuti's camouflage mode disappeared, tears streamed from the corners of her eyes. "Tha-thank goodness! What were you thinking, facing all of them alone?"

"I-I can't answer that. Bu-but we won, right?" I asked.

Seeing me in pain when I tried to sit up. They told me to keep lying down. Iris turned and was beside me. Her hug made me feel a little more comfortable. "Of course! The Knight Order has vanished. All their grandmasters surrendered and were captured."

"But most importantly, you were so cool! Defeating so many people. You made a pile of skulls in Ludanes City." Iris said.

"Th-then where are we now? Are we still in Ludanes?" I asked.

"Dunsestra, the birthplace and old capital of Majagada." Kuti answered. "You've been unconscious for 3 weeks, you know."

"W-what?!" I was surprised. "It only felt like three days..."

"Three weeks," Kuti answered firmly and opened her phone.

A doctor and a healer came. They asked everyone to leave except Iris and Kuti. After examining me and noting my health condition. The doctor and healer said that I still had to rest until I could move again. "This is due to the continuous use of your magic ability even though your magic capacity was depleted. You ended up using blood as a magical conduit, and that's what caused you to be so severely injured."

"Th-thank you." I replied.

"We will still come to check on you this afternoon. See you, Prince Thomas." One of them said and left.

"Pfft... Prince Thomas. What's that all about," Kuti hid her laughter.

"It's natural, my father gave him that title because he's marrying me soon." Iris said.

"Ye-yes, I know. But I'm not used to hearing it. A man I've known since childhood as timid and..." Kuti didn't continue her sentence. "Ah, no. I've promised."

"Phew. Thank goodness you di-didn't get carried away." I replied.

"Hey, what's that? I want to know!" Iris pleaded. "Come on, I'm going to be your wife soon. Why don't you want to tell me about your past?"

"N-never." I said.

"Hey, maybe you can ask Iris to catch them. You could say you're the ruler now." Kuti said loudly. "If this is a conversion from DN to DG, then they're here too, right?"

"Is that the person who made you stutter? I'll catch them, what's their name?" Iris asked.

I actually wanted revenge. But if I did that and used my power for revenge. How would society see me then? As a ruler who uses his power for revenge?

"Just tell him, Thomas. So your heart can be at ease and you won't be traumatized by that incident anymore." Kuti pleaded.

I mentioned a few names and told Iris the story of my childhood. Iris listened carefully and seemed to understand what I had experienced. "Alright,""""I'll go make arrest warrants for them first. See you later, dear, Kuti."

Iris walked out of the room and closed the door. Kuti stayed by my side, holding my hand tightly. "H-have you made up with I-Iris?"

"No. I'm still annoyed that she had to be the one you married first, then me." He replied.

"B-but you're number one to me." I said and smiled. "I-if my body could move, I'd want to hug and kiss you."

Kuti kissed my forehead and smiled. "Just this for now, okay? You need to rest. My room is right next door."

Kuti knocked on the wall near my bed. "Then I'll go now. I also need to rest. I haven't fully recovered after a 2-week sea journey from Ludanes to here."

"Stay here," I pleaded. "P-please."

"No, Iris will be angry. Because today is her turn to take care of you." Kuti used his camouflage mode and disappeared.

Iris returned, carrying a bowl of soup. "Hey look, the servants taught me how to make this. They said it can warm you up and is easy for you to swallow."

"I-I can't wait to try it." I said.

The girl approached me, carrying the seemingly hot bowl. I told her to be careful. But Iris underestimated it and she tripped over something. Even so, the girl's reflexes were excellent. Before the bowl spilled, she caught it again.

"Oops! A little show, then." Iris chuckled. She moved the chair where Kuti had been sitting closer to me and sat there. She took a spoon and began to feed me.

But what happened was beyond my expectation. She put it into her own mouth then kissed me to feed me. "Mmmm! Mmmm!"

"Hehehe, this is also my chance to try a new way to pamper you." She said.

"P-please f-feed me n-normally." I replied and swallowed the food. The food she had just put into my mouth tasted a little sweet.

"Huh? But I don't want to. Besides, this is the tradition in the Majagada family when caring for the sick. You'll have to memorize the traditions here soon anyway." Iris replied and kissed me again.

I couldn't resist and obeyed. Until one bowl was finished and my stomach felt full, all of this stopped. I moved my hand to hold Iris's hand. "Water?"

Thankfully, the way she gave me water was as usual. Not like the way she fed me earlier. "I-Iris, stay here. I want you to keep me company until I can fall asleep again."

"Okay." The girl replied and stroked my head. "Oh, about the names you gave me. I've already given the arrest warrants to the Majagada secret police. Next week, when you've recovered, they'll surely be caught and you can do whatever you want to them."

"I didn't expect a divine messenger to have such a dark past." Iris said.

"Y-yes, because I'm a little different. P-people find it hard to appreciate d-differences, don't they?"
