Don's room was dimly lit, shadows stretching across the walls.
He stood by the closet, taking off his shirt and tossing it onto a nearby chair. His pants followed, leaving him in just his briefs.
The cool air brushed against his skin as he made his way to the bed, the mattress creaking softly under his weight.
He lay there, staring at the ceiling, thoughts swirling.
'Maybe I can catch a few hours of sleep…'
A faint sound interrupted his thoughts—a subtle shuffle outside his door.
His eyes narrowed. He reached over to the dresser, picking up a small remote. With a press, the door clicked open slightly.
