Chapter 390 - Chapter 390: Gaia and Cronus’ Conversation – Cronus: "The Authority of the King of Gods? It’s a Useless Thing!" (Bonus Chapter 4)

Rumble!!!

The entire World of Mythology seemed to tremble, signifying the shock it felt.

Clearly, Gaia, the Earth Goddess, had relinquished her authority as Earth Sovereign and handed it to Athena. Even this emotionless existence, the World of Mythology itself, found it hard to believe.

Perhaps this was the World of Mythology's version of emotions, or perhaps it wasn't. Either way, it didn't matter. What mattered to the gods was the overwhelming shock, leaving them speechless and unable to comprehend what might happen next.

"How is this possible?"

"This…"

"Impossible!"

"The Earth Goddess actually gave up the authority of the Earth Sovereign?"

"Huh?"

The gods were utterly incredulous. They couldn't fathom how this had happened. Why had it happened in the first place?

At this moment.

The gods had no idea, but they understood that this was a monumental event that would change everything, beyond anything they could have ever imagined.

The entire World of Mythology was trembling.

Meanwhile!

Hades, Poseidon, and Polus.

These three Kings of Gods remained calm after learning about it, as if everything was proceeding as expected.

The reason was simple! Others might not know the truth, but did they not?

Heh…

Gaia wanted to create a new King of Gods, and to do that, one needs the authority and essence of a King of Gods.

The original target was Zeus, but why Zeus? Couldn't it have been Uranus or Cronus instead?

To be precise!

It could be, and yet it couldn't.

Or rather!

Uranus couldn't be the target, but Cronus could. Cronus, in a sense, was already dead, and after his death, his authority as King of Gods became unclaimed.

But Uranus, the first King of Gods, as the primordial Sky God, was still alive.

In other words!

As long as the original holder of the authority was still alive, how could that authority be passed to someone else? How could anyone else claim the title of King of Gods?

Think about it: with the original owner still around, how could you inherit their legacy?

This…

It just doesn't feel right, does it?

Just a bit of thought would reveal the enormous problems involved. A bit of reflection would show how serious the implications were.

The more one thought about it, the clearer it became.

It wasn't that Gaia didn't want to use her authority as Earth Sovereign to create a new King of Gods. Rather, even Gaia couldn't do it.

Gaia wasn't truly the Earth Sovereign. Although she held the authority, her essence was that of a Creator God, not a King of Gods. While she could control the authority with her divine power, she couldn't simply bestow it on someone else.

This was how the World of Mythology functioned. Even though Gaia was the Earth Goddess, she couldn't reverse the rules that governed the entire mythological world.

Moreover!

With Athena's birth, Gaia could have withheld the authority of the Earth Sovereign, but using it elsewhere? That was absolutely impossible!

Yet.

Given all the coincidences and accidents that had occurred, Gaia now clearly understood that whether she gave the authority or not made little difference. Essentially, it was all meaningless.

Gaia had seen through everything.

So…

From now on.

Everything would truly change.

Gaia had relinquished the authority of Earth Sovereign. Since the waters had already been muddied, why not make them even murkier?

In the Underworld!

"Hehehe…"

Though Tartaros appeared weakened, he spoke softly, "Gaia, you've really changed. Under the pressure of these new Kings of Gods, are you feeling the strain?"

"…"

Gaia merely glanced at Tartaros with calm indifference, then turned and left without uttering another word. There was no need for conversation.

Because!

Essentially, it was all meaningless.

To Gaia, this was all futile and unnecessary. She didn't need to say anything more and headed deeper into the Underworld.

Tartaros watched Gaia's fading figure and whispered, "Hades, Poseidon, Polus, Athena… one after another, new Kings of Gods have emerged. In a sense, we ancient gods are being forced to make choices."

"Or rather!"

"Even Gaia, participating in this game, is no longer invincible. She now has to rely on various strategies to win, doesn't she?"

"Sigh!"

Tartaros sighed softly and turned away.

He no longer wished to say anything more.

The Greek Pantheon – the World of Mythology!

The entire mythological world was spiraling into chaos, and as for the future, what would happen?

Who knew?

One could only say.

Everything was laid out here, in this endless chaos. No one knew how it would all end.

Moreover!

Tartaros had repaid his debt. Since that was the case, he would remain a mere spectator from here on out.

However!

Tartaros didn't realize that in this chaotic World of Mythology, any god who wanted to retreat?

That was nearly impossible! It didn't matter who the god was—remember! No god.

No god could choose to withdraw. They could only continue down the path. To think of quitting?

That was no easy feat!

In the depths of the Underworld, Gaia arrived, gazing quietly at a cluster of source crystals. Strands of divine power began to emerge.

One of the source crystals started to glow with a brilliant light.

Terrifying divine power briefly flashed.

But!

Gaia merely waved her hand, and everything returned to calm. The source crystal did not revive, but a shadow began to materialize slowly.

As the shadow appeared, a rare smile emerged on Gaia's lips.
