Fury stood with arms folded, eyes fixed on the main screen aboard the Helicarrier. The vast silhouette of Galactus loomed on the display, still floating in the void above Earth.

"What's the situation?" Fury asked, his tone clipped.

Maria Hill turned from the console, tapping a few commands before answering, "Currently... Galactus isn't moving. He's just floating there. We've been hitting him with everything we've got—nothing's working. No retaliation, though."

Fury's one eye narrowed. "The Surfer's work... Even after death, he's buying us time."

He turned his gaze toward the reinforced vault at the edge of the ship.

"How's progress on the weapon?"

Maria hesitated. "They think twenty-four hours will be enough... but they're not sure. Could be more. Could be less."

Fury frowned. "What about the kid?"

Maria glanced at another monitor. "Still asleep. But the readings are... strange."

"Strange how?" Fury asked, now fully facing her.

"It's like he's fine. I mean—perfectly fine. No injuries. No trauma. Doctor Strange confirmed it—his magical signature is stable. Like... nothing even happened."

Fury didn't reply. His jaw clenched. The calm before the storm rarely stayed calm for long.

Then—

BWOOP—BWOOP—BWOOP.

An alarm flared across the ship. Red lights bathed the deck. Several agents leapt to their stations.

A young soldier sprinted toward them, helmet in hand, breathing heavily.

"Director! Commander Hill!"

Fury didn't move. "Report."

The soldier saluted, nerves barely held in check. "Sir. The subject—Aiden Blake—he's awake."

Maria blinked. "He's what?"

Fury's tone sharpened. "Then why the hell is there an alarm?"

The soldier swallowed hard. "Sir... he's attacking."

Maria's eyes widened. "Attacking who?"

The soldier looked like he wanted to be anywhere else. "Captain Marvel. Doctor Strange. And... Thor, sir."

Fury's expression turned to steel. "What!"

....

Fury and Maria sprinted down the corridor, alarms blaring around them. As the med bay doors slid open, they froze.

The scene inside was a nightmare.

Aiden stood at the center—no longer the boy they knew. His Abyss Form had returned.

Twisted shadows danced around him like living things. His face was distorted, hollow-eyed, and cracked with black tendrils of magic. From his back extended massive, talon-like wings of shadow and bone.

One wing had Thor pinned by the neck against the wall, Mjölnir held immobile on the floor like it weighed a thousand tons.

Doctor Strange was sprawled beneath Aiden, similarly restrained by a curled talon of darkness. His Cloak of Levitation hung limply on the opposite wall, useless.

Captain Marvel floated beside Aiden, immobilized mid-air. One talon coiled around her waist, the other curled tightly around her neck.

None of them could break free.

"Aiden Blake!" Fury barked. "What the hell are you doing!?"

The twisted figure slowly turned, a grin creeping across his corrupted features.

But before he could speak, Thor roared out hoarsely, "That's not the boy, Fury—HIDE!"

The med bay was already packed with wounded heroes—most too exhausted to even lift their heads. But the alert had reached a few who could still fight.

Bobby Drake—Iceman—acted first, launching a jagged blast of ice toward the talons. It shattered on impact.

The wing lashed out, faster than thought.

A black spike shot toward Bobby's chest—only to phase harmlessly through as Kitty Pryde tackled him out of the way just in time.

"Sorry, love…" Noriko's twisted voice echoed, dark and smug. "This might hurt, but I love you"

Noriko lunged forward, releasing a surge of electricity into Aiden's chest. It struck him dead-on.

He didn't flinch.

He turned his head slowly, gaze resting on her.

A talon shot forward.

Jubilation Lee cried out and hurled a crackling plasma orb, just enough to knock the strike off course before it impaled Noriko.

"What the hell is going on!?" Fury shouted, his voice booming over the chaos.

Kitty turned to him, face pale with fear. "He's been taken over," she yelled. "We don't know how—or by who—but this isn't Aiden anymore!"

Fury's gaze locked onto the boy. The way he moved—the unnatural calm, the overwhelming pressure rolling off him—it wasn't just a possession. This was something ancient. Intelligent.

Aiden—or the thing inside him—smiled, cold and deliberate.

"Well…" the voice oozed through the room like oil. "That's unfortunate."

He tilted his head, eyes glowing with abyssal energy.

"Your precious little boy is far too valuable to die here... Not to Galactus. So... I'm taking him with me."

The talons tightened slightly on his prisoners as he began to rise off the ground.

....

Aiden's breath came ragged and shallow. Cold, suffocating chains of shadow bound him in place—wrists pulled taut above his head, knees forced to the ground, and heavy restraints locked around his ankles, waist, and neck, anchoring him to the abyss itself.

The air was thick, not just with darkness, but with presence—a primal stillness that pressed down on his chest like a mountain.

His vision blurred, but he forced his head to lift.

There—before him—was a throne. Not made of gold or stone, but of writhing, living shadows shaped into jagged obsidian, as if the abyss itself had grown a seat for its true ruler.

And sitting upon it… was a being that defied comprehension.

He was tall—inhumanly so—even seated, with broad shoulders encased in sleek, organic black armor etched with crimson cracks that pulsed like veins. The armor looked almost alive, as if it breathed. Spikes jutted from the pauldrons, curling slightly like fangs. A flowing mantle of shadows trailed behind him, moving unnaturally, reacting to Aiden's gaze like tendrils tasting the air.

His face was pale—unnaturally pale—with the ashen complexion of something long dead… or never alive. Hair like spun void fell over his shoulders in wild, raven strands. His eyes were pure darkness, swirling with malice, and his mouth held a calm, regal cruelty that made Aiden's spine crawl.

It wasn't rage that poured from him—it was ownership.

The being didn't need to raise his voice. His very existence commanded fear.

"Who…" Aiden rasped, swallowing hard, the chains groaning with his movement.

The figure stood, the very air around him shuddering.

"I am Knull.... the King of Black," he said, voice deep and resonant, as if spoken by the abyss itself. "Lord of the Abyss... the same Abyss you now wield."

He took one step down from the throne, and the shadows bowed before him.

"But I do not recall granting you such gifts."

His gaze locked with Aiden's, unblinking.

"So tell me, child—how is it you hold my power… without my permission?"
