Konoha Year 58, evening.
With a sudden and intense spatial fluctuation, Shishou's figure appeared on the bustling streets of Konoha Village. Despite the crowds moving back and forth, it was as if no one could see him—they passed right through his body without noticing.
For someone of Shishou's level, anyone below the Six Paths level wouldn't be able to perceive him if he didn't want to be seen.
"I didn't expect to be traveling through time again..." Shishou thought, closing his eyes briefly to sense the environment around him, then exhaled a long breath.
Including the time he originally traveled to this world, this marked his third time traveling through time.
Glancing around at his surroundings, Shishou quickly determined his current location and the time period.
The next second, his figure vanished from the street.
Outside the Uchiha Clan's compound.
Shishou hovered in mid-air, observing a child hidden just outside the Uchiha compound. The child, dressed in the signature attire of the Aburame Clan, was covertly controlling a few insects, discreetly placing them on various Uchiha clan members as they entered and exited the compound.
One of the insects landed on Uchiha Mikoto, who was just leaving the Uchiha grounds.
Seeing this, Shishou couldn't help but smile.
Tonight was the night of the Uchiha Clan's massacre.
It was also the night when Shishou first gained the Insect Swarm System and began his rapid rise in the ninja world under the alias of the Flying Thunder God user.
Watching his younger self, who was diligently controlling the insects, Shishou moved closer and gently patted the boy on the shoulder.
This action went unnoticed by the young Shishou, who continued to focus intently on controlling the insects.
Meanwhile, Shishou had already placed a sealing technique on his younger self, embedding one of his clones within the boy's body.
This seal was designed to automatically activate the clone if it sensed the presence of Urashiki, using space-time ninjutsu to notify the real Shishou so he could arrive immediately.
Of course, this was just a precaution, much like how he had sent a clone to protect his newborn self in the time tunnel.
Urashiki had traveled to the year Konoha 59, one year after the current time. Shishou just needed to be prepared to capture Urashiki when he appeared.
Additionally, as an experienced time traveler, Shishou was well aware of the potentially catastrophic effects of altering history, so he figured that Urashiki wouldn't dare to kill his younger self outright.
At most, Urashiki might plant some sort of curse seal on him to use against him in the future.
Before entering the time tunnel, the Plow artifact had informed Shishou that modifying history through time travel would come at a cost. If too much of history were altered, it would trigger a temporal correction, causing all time travelers to disappear and the timeline to revert to its original state.
In other words, if Urashiki didn't want to die, he wouldn't dare kill the younger Shishou, as that would drastically alter the entire course of the ninja world.
If that were the case, the Ōtsutsuki clan would have been thrown into chaos long ago after the invention of time-traveling artifacts.
Time passed quickly, and soon it was the night of the massacre.
Under Shishou's watchful eye, Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Obito stealthily infiltrated the Uchiha compound, beginning their bloody slaughter.
As he watched one Uchiha after another fall in front of him, Shishou narrowed his eyes.
These events had already occurred in the past, so Shishou had no intention of interfering.
Following behind Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Obito, Shishou coldly observed as they mercilessly slaughtered the Uchiha clan members.
He watched as Uchiha Itachi raised his blade against his own parents, Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Mikoto, who stood with their backs to him.
He also watched as his younger self, disguised as an Anbu, secretly saved Mikoto and Izumi, among others.
As Shishou witnessed these events unfold, he let out a long sigh and disappeared from the scene.
Leaving Konoha, Shishou traveled to the moon.
In the lunar habitation area, he found Ōtsutsuki Toneri and his father, Ōtsutsuki Hamura, who were observing the ninja world.
His purpose for coming to the moon was simple: to find Ōtsutsuki Hamura and extract information about the Ōtsutsuki clan from his mind.
Although some scrolls left behind by Hamura contained relevant information, Shishou wanted to ensure there were no omissions.
Additionally, he planned to learn more about the proper use of the giant Tenseigan, so he could teach Hinata and Hanabi.
When Hamura saw Shishou appear, he immediately shouted:
"Who are you, daring to trespass on the moon—"
Before he could finish, Shishou's Kotoamatsukami Rinnegan in his right eye flashed, instantly placing both Hamura and Toneri under a genjutsu.
Seeing the two who had once given him a tough battle now unable to break free from his genjutsu, Shishou felt a wave of nostalgia.
He approached the father and son and placed his hand on their heads, using the Human Path's ability to read their memories.
One minute later, Shishou withdrew his hands.
He had obtained the specific method for using the giant Tenseigan, but he gained little information about the Ōtsutsuki clan.
However, this was to be expected. The Ōtsutsuki clan on the moon had been isolated there for generations, with most of their knowledge about the main clan coming from Hamura. Naturally, they wouldn't know much about the greater Ōtsutsuki clan.
Glancing at the father and son, Shishou disappeared once again.
After Shishou left, Hamura and Toneri awoke from the genjutsu, looking at each other in confusion.
"What just happened?"
...
Mount Myoboku.
Inside the room of the Great Toad Sage.
Whoosh!
With a spatial fluctuation, Shishou emerged from the Kamui space portal.
Sensing the intense spatial disturbance, the Great Toad Sage, who had been sleeping, instantly woke up.
However, just as the Great Toad Sage opened its eyes, it was met with the sight of a golden nine-tomoe Rinnegan.
The next moment, the Great Toad Sage fell back into a deep sleep.
Alongside it, the two toads, Fukasaku and Shima, who had been keeping watch, also fell into a deep slumber.
Shishou floated above the Great Toad Sage's massive head and placed his hand on it, beginning to read its memories.
A minute later, Shishou withdrew his hand and looked down at the sleeping Great Toad Sage, his lips curling in a smirk.
"Just as I thought, this old fox was hiding something."
Shishou had come this time specifically to acquire the Great Toad Sage's Sage Mode and prophecy techniques, even though he had already plundered some related scrolls from Mount Myoboku.
But Shishou had always felt that those weren't the complete techniques, suspecting that the crafty Great Toad Sage was holding something back.
Although he had probed the Great Toad Sage's mind before, he hadn't found anything due to the limited time available.
Later, when he captured the Great Toad Sage again, the appearance of the Sage of Six Paths, Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo, had distracted him, causing him to forget about this matter.
Now that he was traveling through time again, he decided to take the opportunity to delve deeper.
As expected, his suspicion was correct—he had indeed uncovered the true Sage Mode and prophecy techniques of Mount Myoboku from the Great Toad Sage's mind.
