It have already been 14 years since Han Xiao was reincarnated in this world. When he was 7 years old his little sister was born at that time, he had taken up major work in the field and when he became 8-year-old his parent sent him to the village school which he cleared in 6 months. After which he started learning medicine under a renowned doctor and herbalist in the area. It took him two whole years to become capable enough to start diagnosing and curing people after that he became a disciple of a retired army official from whom he learned the existence of martial artist.
When he reached the age of twelve his little brother was born and at age of 13, he finished his discipleship under the retired army official. Everything was going ok but when he turned 14 a famine hit the land destroying the crops and even killing their animals. This condition further intensified as drinking water reverses also started to dry up causing multiple deaths. Seeing this the Han family decided to move to the Black wood town to his paternal uncle who was the owner of a tavern in Black wood town. They had travelled barely over 30 miles when his mother's brother Su Hei appeared on a horse cart. "Su Fei their you are, thank goodness I found you come on get on the cart the roads here aren't safe anymore.
"Thank you big brother for coming over and accepting us." Su Fei expressed here gratitude and relief. They got on the cart and resumed their journey to the Black wood town. They had travelled almost 160 miles when the sounds of hooves' reached their ears and gradually got louder. "Shit, bandits are coming, what bad luck do we have!" Su Hei exclaimed as he beckoned the horses attached to the cart to move faster.
"Uncle keep on driving and don't stop no matter what." Han Xiao said as he grabbed his bow and self made arrows which had been dipped in poison. Seeing his nephew trying to act recklessly Su Hei yelled at him, "Brat don't do something reckless and end up hurting yourself or something even worse!" After hearing his uncle's words he couldn't help but say "Don't worry uncle I know what I am doing." Han Xiao then drew his bow and aimed the arrow at the silhouettes that were getting increasing clear. Han Xiao took aim and released the arrow, it whistled through the air and embedded itself into other party's leader's shoulder.
"Be careful the target have an archer…." Before the leader of the bandits could finish his warning when suddenly three more arrows came and struck their target, one of the arrows even being successful in killing one of his man. Anger and confusion struck the heart of the leader of the bandits, anger because of losing his comrade and confusion because his body was getting stuffer with every passing moment. As he stopped his horse and got off seeing this the rest of the bandits did the same but the two who got shot could only fall from their saddle as their body had become as stiff as a rock. This effect was delayed on the leader of the bandits as he was an martial artist.
Seeing that the bandits have stopped following them, Su Hei was quite surprised at the that his nephew was so well versed in the art of the bow, so he couldn't help but praise him. Listening to his uncle's praise Han Xiao replied "Uncle it is a basic skill a man needs to learn." Listening to his nephew Su Hei shock his head and said "Kid you have a talent for martial arts why don't the join a martial arts sect. If you're successful in joining the martial arts sect you can easily make your family a prestigious one."
"Uncle it shouldn't the easy to join a martial arts sect, they should have some kind of requirements one need to full fill before joining the martial arts sect." Han Xiao asked in curious tone "Well in order to join the martial arts sect you have to pass a test of theirs which is fully based on physical prowess, which I am sure you will have an easy time passing." After listening to his uncle Han Xiao decided that he would first inform is parents about his sudden decision about joining a martial arts sect.
The night had arrived as they finally entered the Blackwood town, his uncle's was right beside the tavern he owned. His house wouldn't be considered big but it wasn't small either. It had four rooms an outdoor kitchen, a bath. Seeing all this Su Fei couldn't help but exclaim. "Wow brother it seem that you have been blessed with good fortune."
"It is nothing sister, it just that the business have been quite good for the past five years. Since you are here make yourself at home." Su Hei said while stopping the cart outside the tavern. As everyone was getting of the cart a voice came followed by sound of footsteps "Father you are back!" Carrying all the things his family had brought Han Xiao turned around and saw a boy about his age taking the horse cart into the shed after hugging his father. "Su Ming go and your aunt and lead them into the house." Another voice came from the tavern, hearing this Su Ming replied "Mother you don't need to be worried. Oh right Father, Mother told me that when you arrive to tell you that she need you for something important.
"Ok then, I am going and Su Ming help your Elder brother carry the things into the house." After saying that Su Hei went inside the tavern. Su Ming turned towards Han Xiao in a stunned manner "Elder brother! Shouldn't you be a 14 year old why do you look like a 17 year old." Hearing his cousin's remark he couldn't help but smile and reply " Yeh, I get that a lot!"
Soon all the belongings of the Han family were taken inside the house. After sometime both the family gathered at dinner, while eating Han Xiao thought it was the best time to discuss about him joining a martial arts sect. " Uncle when would the recruitment will start."
