Chapter 14
Several months had passed, and everything was going perfectly for Lan Zhan and Wei Ying.
Their love and care for each other continued to grow, and their relationship was stronger than ever.
Lan Xichen was still in seclusion and had not emerged, leaving Lan Qiren and Lan Zhan to handle the sect's affairs. As the temporary sect leader, Lan Zhan was busy, but Wei Ying, his partner, didn't want to stay idle. He took on the responsibility of teaching archery and talisman combination disciplines, which went smoothly.
Occasionally, Jiang Cheng, Wei Ying's brother, and his nephew Jin Ling would visit the Lan Sect, either for leadership issues or to spend time with Wei Ying. Their relationship was slowly improving.
Boashan would sometimes appear to visit them, and they would occasionally go to her with their sons to spend quality family time. Lan Zhan no longer minded Boashan's affectionate gestures, such as hugs and pats, which made Wei Ying happy. Although Wei Ying didn't care about Lan Zhan's behavior towards others, he was glad to see him more at ease.
One evening, as they lay in their Jingshi bed, Wei Ying snuggled deeper into Lan Zhan's embrace, feeling safe and loved. Lan Zhan stroked his hair, his touch gentle and soothing.
"Lan Zhan?" Wei Ying whispered, his voice barely audible.
"Hmm?" Lan Zhan replied, his voice low and husky.
"I love you," Wei Ying said, his heart overflowing with emotion.
Lan Zhan's grip tightened, his arms wrapping around Wei Ying like a shield. "I love you more, Wei Ying. More than anything."
Wei Ying smiled, his eyes shining with happiness. "You make me feel so loved and cherished, Lan Zhan. You're my everything."
Lan Zhan's heart swelled with joy, his love for Wei Ying boundless. "You're my everything, Wei Ying. Forever and always."
As they held each other, their hearts beat in perfect harmony, their love shining brighter than any star.
Wei Ying woke up to Lan Zhan's gentle caress, his fingers tracing the curves of his face. He opened his eyes to find Lan Zhan gazing at him with adoration. "Good morning, my love," Lan Zhan whispered, his voice husky with emotion. Wei Ying smiled, his heart skipping a beat. "Good morning, Lan Zhan."
Lan Zhan leaned in, his lips brushing against Wei Ying's in a soft, tender kiss. Wei Ying's eyes fluttered closed, his soul melting into the gentle touch. As they broke apart, Lan Zhan handed Wei Ying a small box. "I got you something," he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Wei Ying opened the box to find a beautiful silver ring with a small crystal black stone with red string's. "It's beautiful!" he exclaimed. Lan Zhan smiled, his eyes shining with love. "You're beautiful, Wei Ying. Inside and out."
Wei Ying's heart swelled with emotion, his love for Lan Zhan overflowing. "I love you, Lan Zhan," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Lan Zhan's face lit up with joy, his arms wrapping around Wei Ying in a warm embrace. "I love you too, Wei Ying. Forever and always."
Wei Ying grinned, "It seems like our hearts and minds are thinking the same. I got a similar ring for you too, Lan Zhan." He flipped the mattress and took out a small box similar to the one Lan Zhan had given him. When he opened it, a silver ring with a tiny blue ribbon came into view. Lan Zhan looked at it with amusement.
Wei Ying put the ring on Lan Zhan's middle right-hand finger.
Lan Zhan stared at the ring, his eyes moist.
Wei Ying worriedly asked, "Lan Zhan, what's wrong? Don't you like the ring?" Lan Zhan grabbed Wei Ying and hugged him, sniffling. He kissed him deep and long.
"This is the first gift you've given me since you came back," Lan Zhan said.
Tears already formed in Wei Ying's silvery eyes. He felt his heart sink, knowing Lan Zhan hardly asked for anything for himself and didn't expect anything from him, except his love. But it seemed Lan Zhan loved the small gestures too, because he was still human.
As if Lan Zhan knew what Wei Ying was thinking, he started speaking. "Wei Ying doesn't have to worry. I expect nothing from him. It's not what you're thinking. I'm just happy being with you. I will forever be grateful for the second chance I got with you."
Wei Ying wiped the tears from his eyes. "I know, Lan Zhan. It's just that I can't help thinking like that. But my dear husband, if you love small gifts like that from me, I promise to do better from now on. I will give you anything I find perfect for you, even if it's just flowers." He joked, giggling.
Lan Zhan smiled and leaned in to start kissing Wei Ying's face, making him giggle.
The sound of Wei Ying's giggles was balm to Lan Zhan's heart and soul.
Wei Ying and Lan Zhan sat in their living room, surrounded by the warmth and love, and when lunchtime came, Lan Zhan summoned their sons to have a meal together as a family.
After lunch, the boys engaged in a lively conversation with their fathers. Sizhui, a young version of Lan Zhan with a strong sense of justice, discussed his latest endeavors in his cultivation journey.
Jingyi, with a mischievous grin and a spark in his eyes, like his Baba Wei Ying, regaled them with stories of his adventures in the mortal realm.
Wei Ying and Lan Zhan listened with pride, offering guidance and support when needed.
As they chatted, Lan Zhan held Wei Ying to his body and gestured for his boys to come to his side, and he put his long, strong arms around both of them, pulling them close in a gentle embrace.
Sizhui and Jingyi exchanged a warm glance, grateful for the love and acceptance they had always received from their fathers.
In this moment, they knew they could face any challenge, knowing they had the unwavering support of their family.
As the evening drew to a close, Wei Ying suggested a family cultivation session.
Sizhui and Jingyi eagerly agreed, and the four of them sat in a circle, their energies entwining as they meditated together.
Lan Zhan's eyes shone with pride as he felt his sons' powers growing stronger. Wei Ying smiled, his heart full of love and gratitude for their little family.
As they cultivated, Sizhui began to play a soft melody on his Gugin, the notes weaving into the fabric of their energies.
Jingyi added his own rhythm on a small drum.
Lan Zhan summoned his Gugin Wangji and started playing the melody, and Wei Ying, with his quick wit, caught the tune and swirled his flute Chenqing to mimic them, the beat pulsing through their connection.
The music swirled around them, a beautiful expression of their love and unity. In this moment, they were one, their hearts and souls in perfect harmony.
After their cultivation session, they decided to spend quality time with their bunnies.
They all gathered with carpets and blankets, Sizhui and Jingyi sprawled out on one carpet, while Wei Ying and Lan Zhan snuggled up together on a blanket on the floor.
The bunnies hopped around, nuzzling their wet noses and nibbling on their faces, causing them to giggle.
As they gazed up at the sky, they admired the clear blue and orange hues, signaling the sun's descent and the approaching night.
Lan Zhan whispered humorous comments to Wei Ying, making him laugh. Sizhui and Jingyi playfully teased each other, their banter filling the air with joy.
Jingyi turned to his fathers and said, "You two are the cheesiest couple ever, but we love you for it." Sizhui nodded in agreement, grinning.
Wei Ying and Lan Zhan exchanged a warm glance, their hearts filled with joy and gratitude. They knew they had created a loving and supportive family where their sons felt comfortable expressing themselves and sharing in the love.
As the day passed, they all hugged each other tightly, basking in the warmth of their family bond.
Later, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan sat together on Jingshi's back under the cherry tree, watching the stars twinkle in the night sky. Alone after a joyful day with their family, Wei Ying turned to Lan Zhan, his eyes shining with emotion. "Lan Zhan, can I tell you something?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Lan Zhan turned to him, his eyes filled with love and encouragement.
"Anything, Wei Ying. Always."
Wei Ying's heart swelled with warmth. "I'm so grateful for you, Lan Zhan. You're my rock, my shelter, my everything. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Lan Zhan's face softened, his golden eyes moist with tears.
"Wei Ying, you're my everything too. You're the sunshine in my day, the stars in my night. I love you more than words can express." Wei Ying's heart overflowed with emotion, his love for Lan Zhan shining brighter than any star. "I love you so very much, my Lan Zhan. Forever and always."
As they embraced, their hearts beat in perfect harmony, their love shining brighter than any star in the sky.
