"Breaking into my gym and attempting to steal Pokémon—I won't stand by and watch!" Koga narrowed his eyes after hearing Team Rocket's intentions, his sharp gaze emanating an intimidating aura.
"We're not scared of you! We'll take all the Pokémon from this gym!" Despite Koga's frightening presence, these words came from the ever-clueless Jessie and James.
They were like illiterate people trying to read advanced literature—completely missing the cues. No matter how powerful Koga's intimidation was, it was wasted on them. Unable to comprehend the danger they faced, they remained unfazed and immediately released Weezing and Arbok, preparing for battle.
This actually surprised Koga. The only people who could remain unmoved by his intimidation technique were either truly elite trainers like Ash or complete fools.
But whether they were fools or elites, there was only one way to find out. Koga prepared to take action.
FLASH!!!
Suddenly, there was a burst of light from Misty's backpack. A yellow figure materialized on the ground—a Pokémon with a vacant expression looking around in confusion.
Holding its head with both hands and tilting it to one side, everyone stared in surprise at Psyduck who had unexpectedly released itself.
"Why did you come out on your own again?!" Misty exclaimed in frustration.
This Pokémon doesn't know how to battle properly, she thought, and always disobeys me by appearing at the worst times. I really should get rid of it.
"Psy-duck!!!"
Being scolded by Misty, Psyduck didn't seem to realize it was being reprimanded. It simply continued tilting its head as if it couldn't understand what was happening. This only intensified Misty's irritation.
"Well, since you're out, you might as well battle!" Misty, thoroughly annoyed, pointed forward to signal Psyduck to attack.
"Psy!"
Psyduck wasn't completely clueless. It stretched out its stubby claws and waddled toward Weezing and Arbok. There was no finesse to its approach—it simply charged forward, hindered by its rotund body and slow pace.
"Chaaarbok!"
Arbok slithered forward rapidly, hissing menacingly before opening its massive jaws to deliver a Bite attack. From everyone's perspective, this seemed like a mismatch, but what happened next surprised them all...
Arbok's Bite attack clamped directly onto Psyduck's head, causing Psyduck to freeze in place before it could launch any counterattack.
Everyone was stunned by this sight—even Arbok seemed confused. It had definitely used its full strength, but why wasn't its victim responding?
One second. Two seconds. Three seconds...
Time passed moment by moment. After nearly ten seconds, Psyduck's vacant eyes shifted, and its round pupils suddenly took on a wavy appearance.
"PSY-YI-YI-YI!!!"
It broke free from Arbok's jaws, falling directly to the ground where it clutched its head and rolled around in agony. Tears streamed from its eyes, almost matching the force of a Water Gun attack.
Everyone froze at this pathetic display, including Team Rocket.
"Hey! I'll catch this Pokémon." Seeing Psyduck wailing on the ground, James stepped forward excitedly. Misty felt a twinge of concern.
Although she frequently scolded Psyduck, it was still her Pokémon, and she didn't want it captured by Team Rocket.
"What's the use of catching this useless trash? Meowth!" Meowth walked forward unceremoniously and kicked Psyduck away. Psyduck tumbled across the floor, still clutching its head while kicking wildly and screaming in pain.
"Well, that's something! Even Team Rocket doesn't want it!" Misty couldn't help but facepalm. How could there be such a pathetic Pokémon? When even Team Rocket rejected it, that was truly rock bottom!
"Alright, alright, come here!"
Despite her frustration, Misty's compassion surfaced when she saw Psyduck's distress. She approached, gently picking it up to offer comfort.
"Arbok!"
"Weezing!"
At that moment, Arbok and Weezing launched forward. Though they weren't targeting Misty and Psyduck specifically, the pair were directly in their path.
"Look out!" Aya shouted instinctively, ready to rush forward to help. Koga and Brock also prepared to intervene.
However, Ash suddenly placed a restraining hand on Brock's shoulder and spoke calmly.
"Don't worry, Psyduck is about to reveal its hidden power now!" Ash's unexpected action confused Brock, who looked at him questioningly. Even Koga paused.
They all turned their attention forward with uncertainty. Misty heard the commotion and looked up, startled to see Arbok and Weezing charging toward her. Crouched on the ground, she had no time to escape.
"PSY-DUCK!!!"
BOOM!!!
Suddenly, Psyduck emitted a powerful cry. Its eyes, previously squeezed shut in pain, snapped open, releasing a dazzling blue light.
A psychic wave expanded outward, striking Arbok and Weezing head-on. Jessie, James, and Meowth were also caught in the energy field, their bodies enveloped in a blue aura.
"What... what's happening? I can't... I can't move!"
"This is... Psychic immobilization?" Observing Team Rocket and their Pokémon frozen in place, Koga immediately recognized the technique.
"Psychic immobilization? Isn't that a Psychic-type ability?" Brock asked in surprise.
"PSY-YI-YI!!!"
Having restrained Team Rocket, Psyduck slowly rose from Misty's arms. Facing its opponents, it opened its eyes wider, releasing waves of blue energy that rippled outward like ocean currents.
Its entire body glowed with blue light as Team Rocket's immobilized forms suddenly began to move against their will.
They were lifted into the air, then slammed forcefully to the ground by an invisible power.
CRASH! BANG! BOOM!!!
Before they could recover from being smashed into the floor, they were flung against the wall, then hurled toward the ceiling.
"That's Confusion!"
