Chapter 197 - Chapter 194 - She Is His Empire.

Herbert Medical And Technology

Meeting Room

The meeting had wrapped up, but the air felt heavy, like fog stubbornly clinging to the ground after a storm.

Executives and board members stood up, murmuring to one another as they gathered their folders and tablets, trying to play it natural... but the tension in the room was palpable.

It was the weight of things left unsaid, a simmering tension, and the quiet dread of what was looming ahead.

Savannah had already slipped out of the room—graceful and quiet, not a single glance back. Her exit left a noticeable gap, one that didn't go unnoticed. She had navigated that meeting like a serene sea, concealing a whirlpool of depth and intelligence, a blend of strength and grace.

Now, only Blaze remained at the table.

At the head of the long conference table, he sat with an effortless posture, yet his presence filled the space. His fingers were steepled under his chin, and his gaze was fixed—unwavering—on one man.

Mr. Hall.

Blaze had seen it all. Every glance, every slight smirk, every time Hall's eyes strayed toward Savannah, revealing something twisted lurking beneath the surface. It was calculated. Disrespectful. Degrading.

And Blaze was done playing host.

He leaned in, his voice low and dangerously calm. "Is something bothering you, Mr. Hall?"

The room went still.

Conversations stopped. Those lingering near the door turned with wide eyes. Even Arthur, who had been sorting through his files, froze mid-action. Everyone recognized that tone. It wasn't a question.

It was the start of a reckoning.

Mr. Hall, caught off guard, forced a weak smile and chuckled nervously. "No... no, of course not, sir. Everything's fine. Just a long meeting, you know—"

"I see," Blaze replied softly, his tone unreadable. Then came the dagger. "But the way you were looking at my wife... tells a different story."

The silence cracked.

Hall's smirk faded away. He straightened up, fiddling with his tie, suddenly feeling the weight of every gaze in the room. "I think there's been a misunderstanding, Mr. Baldwin. I didn't—"

"You know..." Blaze started again, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous whisper. "There are a few things in life that really test my patience. But one thing I absolutely won't stand for," he leaned in, his eyes icy and unyielding, "is disrespect toward my wife."

The atmosphere in the room chilled instantly.

Hall stuttered, his words faltering in his throat. "I-I didn't mean anything by it... I was just trying to be casual. Just a little lightness in the meeting, that's all—"

Blaze didn't even blink. He didn't have to.

Arthur stepped forward, placing his phone gently on the table and hitting play on an audio clip.

Hall's voice filled the room, dripping with arrogance and malice.

"She wouldn't be sitting here if she weren't married to the boss. Let's not kid ourselves."

"Bet she's just playing the wife to get her say in these meetings."

Each word replayed like a bullet.

Hall stiffened in his seat, color draining from his face. The room fell into a heavy silence, only the soft hum of the air conditioning breaking the stillness. No one moved. No one came to his defense.

Because no one could.

Savannah had entered that room, calm and collected, proving with her knowledge, insight, and skills that she truly belonged there. Her work spoke volumes, far louder than any title ever could. And Hall—foolishly—had tried to undermine all of it with a single arrogant remark.

Blaze's voice cut through the tension again. "Everyone else—leave."

No second thoughts.

The room emptied out as quickly as if people were fleeing a fire. No one wanted to be caught in the fallout.

Hall stood up too, eager to vanish—but—

"You stay," Blaze commanded sharply.

Mr. Hall's steps froze. He slowly turned and sank back into his chair.

Blaze remained standing, calm yet imposing. "I didn't want to embarrass you in front of them. Consider this my final act of generosity."

Hall's expression twisted into something desperate. "Mr. Baldwin, please. I didn't mean to—"

"You're not needed here anymore," Blaze said, his gaze unwavering. "Effective immediately, you're dismissed from Herbert Technology. Don't even think about showing your face here again."

Arthur shifted uncomfortably next to him. Blaze noticed it—the flicker of hesitation, the worry etched on his face. Mr. Hall had been a crucial part of the project. His skills in backend integration and data management had been invaluable.

But none of that mattered now.

Respect was non-negotiable.

"You can't just toss me aside like that!" Hall exclaimed, his eyes wide with disbelief. "I built that backend system from the ground up! I've dedicated years to this company—!"

Blaze's voice cut through the air, sharp and unyielding. "Then you should've thought twice before speaking out. I'm barely keeping myself from doing something worse."

The fury in his eyes was quiet, controlled. But it was the kind of rage that simmered beneath the surface, and that was always more frightening than a loud outburst.

Mr. Hall's desperation crumbled. He sank to his knees on the polished floor.

"Please," he pleaded, his voice trembling. "I have a family... kids... Just one more chance. I'll apologize to her—I'll—"

Blaze turned his back.

Not because he lacked compassion.

But because his heart belonged to Savannah—and the thought of her being disrespected, insulted, or belittled was simply unforgivable.

"Arthur," he said without looking back.

Arthur nodded silently, stepped forward, and took hold of Hall's arm.

"No—please—I'm sorry—I didn't mean it—!"

His voice echoed down the hallway as Arthur led him away, a final, pitiful figure being dragged from the empire he had taken for granted.

Blaze walked out of the boardroom.

He didn't glance back.

Not once.

Because nothing—nothing—mattered more than Savannah. And if the world needed a reminder of who she truly was, Blaze Baldwin would burn it all down and rebuild it just to give her the throne she never asked for... but always deserved.
