In 'Journey to the West', Zhu Bajie was made a Cleansing Altar Envoy, Sha Monk a Golden Arhat, and Bai Long a member of the Eight Divisions of Heavenly Dragons. These three positions are actually all Bodhisattva states.
But the only ones who could become Buddhas were Tang Monk and Sun Wukong.
