At five in the morning, it was still dark. Wang Yunxiao had just closed his eyes for a little rest when someone outside began banging on the door.
When he opened the door, he found it was Qi Bing, a special officer from the police department, accompanied by Youtiao and Chen Yuguang.
The three had come over in the bureau's only car.
"What's happened?"
"I don't know. We'll talk in the car!"
How could they not know?
Once inside the car, Youtiao handed over a baked roll.
Wang Yunxiao wasn't really hungry, having eaten quite a bit of grilled sausage last night, but he didn't mind having another roll to whet his appetite.
"What do you mean by 'I don't know'?"
"I really don't know."
Qi Bing looked helpless: "I was also called out of the dormitory. The Special Service Bureau called, saying there's an emergency and gathered district section chiefs for a meeting. They were afraid you'd waste time on the road, so they specifically sent for you by car."
