Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 -

Text(Slytherin Dorm)

You would think that Harry was in a great mood considering he spent afternoon in fucking his three gorgeous classmates, but that wasn't the case. Instead, Harry found himself looking to the end of the week, "Sickle for your thoughts?" Blaise smiled as Harry relaxed on the couch after breakfast.

"Just thinking about what's coming up." Harry answered calmly.

Blaise sighed because much like most of the school they knew what was at the end of the week, "Samhain." Blasé said knowing the significance.

"Yep. The anniversary of Voldemort's Fall and the day the wizarding world was changed forever." Harry said bitterly.

"Agreed and thanks to recent events, a day that needs to be looked at again" Blaise said with a bit of mirth. The Potter family being alive changed a lot about the day and it led to questions that many had to answer about that day. Their first interview did They haven't said much recently with Andromeda handling the Wizengamot for the Potter's and Black families and Sirius Black being extremely silent despite constant questions.

"Yeah and that's what's so interesting." Harry replied. The truth is that there were far too many things to ask for one simple interview, so his parents were doing a series of them. The first one merely mentioned that they faked their death using a pair of house elves to trick the Dark lord and that those Elves will forever be honored for their sacrifice. As to where they've been, that was a secret location and that they wouldn't reveal it for obvious reasons. The second one would take place later today and be part of a collaboration between Witch's Weekly and the Prophet, something that would've been unheard of in the past. Before Blaise could respond, Pansy stormed over with fury in her eyes.

"Potter we need to talk!" Pansy said angrily.

"Do we." Harry said nonchalantly. While had great love for most of his fellow snakes, Pansy was the exception to the rule.

"Yes. Thanks to that bloody bet of yours I can't talk to Draco, and it sucks." Pansy frowned.

Harry rolled his eyes, "And why is that my problem. Draco made his bet and lost. That's not on me." Harry replied uncaring about Pansy's plight.

"But you have to allow it. He's my betrothed and if I can't talk to him, we can't work on things." Pansy protested.

"Harry sighed because this was just said, "Like I said, his bet, his loss, his fault." Harry said dryly.

"In that case. How about we make a wager ourselves." Pansy replied.

"No. You have nothing I want." Harry said with a hint of annoyance. Pansy was a pig faced girl with a horrible attitude and Draco was likely the only boy she could attract, and she knew it. Well, there was Crabbe and Goyle, but they were morons as far as he was concerned. The idea he would wager anything with her was laughable.

"What about Lyra." Pansy suggested with a wicked grin.

Harry raised an eyebrow, "What about her."

"Thanks to the missive from Draco's father, you can't talk to Lyra at all. I'm sure I can convince Draco to turn a blind eye if you help me talk to him again."

"Clever idea… but no." Harry said quickly rejecting Pansy's latest ploy.

"Poor Lyra. Tossed to the side so easily." Pansy smiled hoping to goad him into accepting.

Unfortunately for Pansy, Harry wasn't fooled, "Are you done because I'm bored." Harry sneered in a way that would probably make Draco proud.

"This isn't over Potter." Pansy growled before leaving Harry and Blaise alone.

"That was fun." Blaise smiled having watched everything unfold.

"It was. Pansy's weak attempt to fix things for Draco was rather amusing." Harry answered.

"What makes it so sad is that there are plenty of ways around Draco's bet and the fact Pansy didn't think of them speaks to her lack of cunning." Blaise replied. The bet merely said he couldn't talk to anybody. It didn't mean they couldn't communicate via other means. Talking through Crabbe and Goyle for one and even written statements would work and that's just ideas Blaise came up with off the top of his head.

"Agreed. It makes you wonder what the heck, the hat was thinking putting her in Slytherin." Harry snorted.

"Probably read her mind and saw Draco was all that mattered and that was it." Blasé answered.

"Probably." Harry smirked. Then again, Draco wasn't exactly prime Slytherin material either. Well, that was a concern for another day.

"Well I'm going for a walk. Need to get out of these stuffy dungeons. Maybe I'll chat up a cute girl." Blaise smiled before leaving Harry to relax.

Harry chuckled because his life was good, and it was going to only get better as the week continued.

Harry walked into breakfast with a calm expression knowing that today would be a game changer for everyone. He felt slightly guilty for skipping the morning bath with Tonks and Susan, something he told them via Gano but given that his parents were about to reveal the second article, things were about to get hectic again and the last thing he needed is for people to see him coming and going at odd times. Sure enough, the Prophet arrived, and a smiling Harry relaxed with Daphne by his side and Lilith Moon next to him, something he was surprised by since Lilith was normally a quiet girl and stayed away from the chaos that was their little group.

"Good morning Harry." Lilith said softly catching him off guard once more. Lilith was an Asian girl with black hair and stormy grey eyes which was unusual to say the least. Underneath the robes he knew she had a nice C cup chest and a slim body but unfortunately the school robes hid that.

"Morning Lilith. How are you." Harry replied wondering what she was up to.

"I'm fine, but I thought I should give you a warning." Lilith said ominously.

"Oh?" Harry replied and Daphne Tracey and a nearby Lyra were intrigued.

"When seeking out revenge you often dig two graves. One for the one you seek vengeance on, and another for yourself." Lilith explained.

"What the bloody hell does that mean. Maybe you should stay quiet Moon" Pansy scowled from just outside their group. She was still furious that Potter didn't help her, and Lilith was an easy target.

Lilith slumped but Harry grabbed her hand, "Ignore Pansy because I get it. When somebody seeks out revenge, it ruins them because they only think about that vengeance and nothing else matters."

"Yes. That's correct." Lilith smiled glad that Harry understood it.

"Sounds like you know from experience Potter." Blaise probed.

"Yes but not mine. In fact, I think Lilith's quote will make a lot more sense in a few minutes."

Everyone was silent until the Carrows spoke up, "That's right."

"Today is the second article isn't it?" Flora and Hestia said eagerly.

"Second article?" Pansy said in confusion.

"That's right. Today is the second article featuring my parents. It's done with Witch's Weekly and the Prophet because the only person they would speak to works there and the Prophet needs this type of thing for their readers." Harry smiled.

Nobody else said anything for five minutes until the first owl's started to appear for breakfast.

"It's here." Blaise smiled and so did everyone near Harry and his group as those who ordered the Prophet got to see what the Potter's would say next and they were not disappointed.

Samhain Surprise

As everyone knows this Thursday will mark 12 years since the defeat of the Dark Lord and while the ones responsible were once believed to be the Boy Who Lived Harry Potter, the return of Lily and James Potter September 1st shed light on that. During the first part of the interview the Potter's revealed that they've lived in a secret location for the past 12 years, and today we look at that fateful day where everything changed.

James and Lily Potter were among the group of noble wizards who fought against He Who Must Not Be Named, but the pregnancy of Lily Potter changed everything. In order to protect their unborn child, Lily and James Potter had to go into hiding. They used a powerful charm known as the Fidelius Charm to hide themselves from anybody who would do them harm. For those unfamiliar with the Charm, as long as an area is under the Fidelius nobody can find it unless they know the secret. The one who holds the secret is known as the Secret Keeper and many would likely assume that the Secret Keeper would be Lord Sirius Orion Black. the current Lord of House Black and longtime friend of James Potter as well as Harry's guardian following their supposed death. However, the Potter's did not do that because it was too obvious, and Sirius would be in more danger particularly from the Dark Lord's number 2 his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange. Instead,. Lily and James allowed another friend to take that task. This friend was Peter James Pettigrew, a friend to both James Potter and Sirius during their days at school. They figured that nobody would look to Peter, and they could stay safe and raise their son. It worked for a time, but Peter eventually betrayed them and only thanks to the contingency plan that was mentioned in the pervious article did they escape with their lives and the lives of their son.

There are many more questions to be asked about that night. Was Peter's betrayal his own or was he one of the many who had the Imperius Charm used on them during the war? Why did He Who Must Not be Named go to the Potter's instead of using Death Eater's or even use Pettigrew himself. What was this plan that stopped a Dark Lord who seemed unstoppable? Part three will come later on and I for one can't wait.

As the article was passed around everyone wondered just what was going on. "Thoughts Harry." Blaise smiled.

Harry was about to reply when out of the corner of his eye he noticed one of the famous Weasley twins walking towards him with the other making a beeline for Tonks, 'Isn't this interesting.' Harry replied. The one that went to Tonks said something and she got up immediately and walked with him out of the Great Hall. The other approached their table and while many were tense, Harry was calm.

"Sorry to interrupt your chat but we need to talk." the Weasley said politely.

"No noble snake has anything to say to you Weasley." Draco scowled.

"I wasn't talking to you Malfoy." The Weasley twin scowled.

Harry sighed, "That's enough you two. Draco doesn't speak for me, and I hope he doesn't try and do so again OR ELSE." Harry said coldly causing both to go quiet. Glad that it was settled he focused on the Weasley twin, "Before we continue, which twin am I speaking to."

"I am George."

"So George what's going on." Harry wondered.

"I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good." George said firmly.

Harry's eyes widened, "Understood. Let's go." Harry replied quickly and he left.

"What's going on Potter." Pansy spoke up.

"Something that has nothing to do with you." Harry said firmly as he left with George as the girls looked on in concern since Harry knew something was wrong instantly.

"Should we follow." Tracey asked nervously.

"No. This is between them and Harry, and it should stay that way." Lyra said firmly

"But"

"Tracey" Daphne emphasized.

"Right" Tracey nodded aware that this wasn't a request.

Back with Harry and George, the two left the Great Hall and went towards the abandoned classrooms and Harry spotted a small rubber chicken on one of the doorknob.

"In here." George said firmly and they opened the door with George taking out his wand and vanishing the chicken before opening the door.

"Nice touch with the rubber chicken." Harry smiled.

'Thanks but now isn't the time to talk pranks." George replied as they walked in with Tonks and Fred standing by one of the long desks in the room. George and Fred stood together with Harry and Tonks during the same.

Given that you used that phrase, I assume this has to do with the Marauder's Map." Tonks replied.

"That's right." Fred said calmly as he took a parchment out of his robe pocket.

"We nicked this off of Filch during detention our first year. I don't need to tell you two how it works." George replied. Tonks was their contact in Hufflepuff for pranks and when she revealed the map, she told them all about Sirius and his connection to the Marauders.

"You don't, but I assuming that telling us about the map isn't why you dragged us away." Harry frowned.

"No it's not." Fred replied as he opened the map and said the same phrase from before. Harry watched as the map lit up.

"When we first got the map we were amazed because of how cool it was but over the summer something weird happened." George frowned.

"Weird." Tonks wondered.

"Yeah. We were looking over the map at home because we wanted to prank our brother Percy when we saw an odd name appear in his bedroom." Fred revealed.

"We didn't think much of it at first because ghosts do occasionally fly near the burrow because it's out of the way and they're mostly harmless.".

"Until we saw it again. This time at Hogwarts and once again near our brother." Fred replied.

"We figured the ghost was interested in Percy and just stuck around.

"At one point we joked about the ghost being the reason that Percy had such a stick up his ass.

"At least until this year." Fred revealed.

Tonks had a very bad feeling, "What happened this year."

"The ghost that we thought was around Percy, was attached to Ron." George explained.

Harry was confused but Tonks's eyes widened in horror, "No. It can't be." Tonks gasped.

"What's wrong Dora." Fred scowled.

"Fred. What's the name of this ghost." Tonks said ominously. She really hoped that her thought process was wrong because if not they had a nightmare on their hands.

"Peter Pettigrew." Fred replied.

"Fuck! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" Tonks cursed and she continued to string out curses for a few minutes.

"What's going on Tonks." Harry panicked. It wasn't like Tonks to freak out like this.

Tonks took a deep breath, "Charlie was my buddy before he graduated, and he always talked about two things. His love of dragons and his hatred of Percy's pet, a RAT named Scabbers."

Harry's eyes widened because now he understood what was happening, "You've gotta be kidding me." Harry gasped.

"What's going on."

"Tell us." Fred and George said nervously.

"This goes back to the original Marauder's and creators of that Map, Moony Wormtail Padfoot and Prongs. Moony or Remus Lupin, was an actual werewolf and to help him during his transformation the other Marauder's decided to become animagus so they could support him without being in danger. Sirius was Padfoot because he could transform into a Grimm. Harry's dad was Prongs because he could transform into a stag. Wormtail or Peter Pettigrew was the final member, and he could transform into a rat."

"BLOODY HELL!" the two shouted together having realized what Tonks was getting at.

"Yep. After he betrayed Lily and James, Peter went into hiding using his animagus form. I don't know how he got to the Weasley's, but he did and now he's living as your pet rat." Tonks explained.

The twins were stunned silent because that means an absolute monster had been living in their home without them realizing it for years. "What do we do."

"Please tell us. Our brother is an idiot, but we can't have a monster like that around him.' The twins pleaded.

Tonks looked at the boys and sighed because this was going to really suck, "I know how much you guys love the map, but we need to tell McGonagall, now." Tonks frowned.

Fred and George looked at each other and using what Harry could only guess was twin speak came to a decision, "Let's do it."

"We may lose the map, but to protect our family, it's well worth it." Fred and George replied.

"Agreed." Tonks and Harry said together. Monday was off to an incredible start and into the good kind.

(Scene Skip)

Harry took a very deep breath as he sat in his room. After returning to the Great Hall the twins walked over to McGonagall and told her about the map and what they found, and the reactions were very much what he expected. McGonagall looked on in horror before asking Albus if he could contact Amelia and while Dumbledore hesitated for a second, he agreed. McGonagall quickly left but Dumbledore took over ordering everyone there to stay and for the Prefects and Head Boy and Girl to look for any students in the hallway and direct them to the dorms besides the Gryffindor's who were to go to the library until further notice.

For the next twenty minutes the staff discussed what they learned. Snape scowled saying that of course Potter and his Ilk did something like that and they should probably be arrested for being illegal animagus. He wasn't wrong, but they had a very good reason for that. Come to think of it, Harry didn't know if his dad and Sirius ever actually registered. Well, it would come up soon enough.

Flitwick was focused more on the fact that a man had been living with the students for years with nobody the wiser. He mentioned that something like this should've been noticed, and Dumbledore says that Animagus detection wards weren't in the school, but that he would ensure they are moving forward. Sprout frowned because she was focused more on the Weasley's and how they would be affected.

Multiple people tried to ask Harry what was happening, but he dismissed them since they'd know soon enough. From the looks of things, Fred and George were having the same problem but thankfully Hufflepuff was leaving Tonks alone.

After twenty minutes, McGonagall returned with a smile and Dumbledore announced that everyone should return to their dorms and that classes would be canceled for the day. A knock on the door broke him from his musings and Harry walked over to find Blaise waiting for him.

"It's our turn." Blaise said with a smirk. Snape was telling the students what happened by year and of course the first years were last.

'Here we go.' Harry sighed because this was going to be annoying.

(Scene Skip)

Harry sat on one of the couches near the center with Daphne on his right and amusingly Lilith on his left yet again. Tracey stood next to Lilith and Lyra stood with Daphne wanting to be there for Harry. Draco was angry but stayed silent since everything was tense right now, "I apologize for this interruption to your day. but the actions of two generations of troublemakers have made themselves known." Snape started off looking at Harry with a bit of disdain.

"When I was a student there was a group known as the Marauder's. Its members were Sirius Black, a werewolf named Remus Lupin, James Potter, and Peter Pettigrew."

Harry grit his teeth for outing Remus like that but Snape was never a fan of his father, and this was clearly an act of petty revenge, 'You'll pay for that later Snape.' Harry frowned as he noticed Daphne and Lilith grab his hands to calm him down. Smiling at both girls he focused on the speech.

"They went after many noble Slytherin's during that time myself included, playing vicious pranks that make what the Weasley twins do seem like nothing."

"What was that map the Weasley's handed to McGonagall." a fourth year wondered.

"It was a map that the original Marauder's created during their time at school and with it, the user could find the location of anybody in Hogwarts. How the Weasley's got it I will never know but it explains their skill with pranks."

"We should confiscate it from them." Draco shouted.

"The map is currently with Madam Bones of the DMLE so I can only hope she does the right thing and burns it." Snape replied coldly.

"Why did Professor McGonagall freak out." Lyra said hoping for a change of subject.

"As you heard in the article, a man named Peter Pettigrew was the one who betrayed the Potter's. After the events of that night, Peter Pettigrew, managed to sneak away and found himself as the family rat. If I remember correctly, he was the rat of the eldest Weasley here and more recently, the newest member of that blasted family." Snape answered causing Lyra's eyes to widen and various reactions from the crowd.

"Disgusting. Who gets a pet rat anyway" Pansy sneered with Malfoy Crabbe and Goyle nodding. Harry couldn't find it in himself to disagree.

"Indeed. At any rate, Amelia was informed and brought up to arrest Peter. I believe charges will be filed by the end of the day. That is all." Snape replied bringing the talk to the end.

Harry was glad that was over and frankly outside of what happened with Lupin, he hadn't been too horrible. "So. What are we going to do for the rest of the day." Daphne wondered.

"I'm going to relax." Harry replied.

"I agree. I have to admit I actually feel bad for the Gryffs. A man was living in their dorm in secret and disguised as a rat. Who knows what he's gotten up to. During that time" Tracey replied.

"Tracey I'm going to hex you for putting that thought in my head." Lyra scowled.

Daphne shuddered also at the various unpleasant implications, "It's an unpleasant thought but there's something that should concern you guys even more." Daphne pointed out.

"You mean that if Harry was in Gryffindor, Pettigrew could've easily finished the job the dark lord started, and nobody would be any wiser." Lilith said softly.

"Can we change the subject please." Lyra frowned.

"How about we just all go relax" Daphne suggested.

"Agreed." Harry smiled and everyone went to their rooms. This was not a fun conversation at all.

(Scene Skip)

Peter Pettigrew sat in his cell with a look of resignation on his face. Somehow his disguise was discovered and after years of hiding he was finally in prison for his crimes. Seeing the look on Amelia's face when she was brought in was terrifying and he was positive he would face her wrath sooner rather than later. Thankfully, Sirius couldn't get to him from the private location he was in. The bad news was that his wand was snapped, and he was pants at wandless magic. The good news was the auror's didn't find the second wand in his possession one that would be far more problematic given who it belonged to.

For the moment he was in a private area in the department of mysteries and the only people who had access to him were the Unspeakables and the only one of concern was August Rookwood who was in Azkaban. Well, there was a second but what little he knew about the Unspeakables meant that they wouldn't be an issue. His biggest problem right now was the animagus restriction cuffs on his body "These bloody cuffs are the only reason I can't escape." Peter lamented. As he tried to come up with an escape plan, he heard footsteps walking his way and he was very concerned. That concern only grew as the familiar figure approached.

"Hello Peter." The figure said with a snarl.

"YOU!" Peter scowled.

"Me. Now I have good news and bad news for you Peter." The figure said.

"How the heck did you find me." Peter panicked. This was extraordinarily bad for him, and he knew it.

"Due to my work with the Wizengamot I speak with quite a few Unspeakables. Putting one under the Imperius was an easy task."

Peter scowled, "So what happens now. Are you going to free me."

"That depends."

"On what."

"On if you can tell me how the Potter's managed to take out the Dark Lord."

"I have no clue. Whatever contingency plan they had didn't involve me." Peter replied.

"Blast" the figure scowled.

"Still, I do have something of value that you might want."

"What's that." the figure wondered.

"I have the Dark Lord's wand." Peter explained.

"What!!"

"While his body didn't survive that night, his wand did. It's a minor miracle that I was able to retrieve it."

"In that case, give it to me and I will free you." The figure smiled

Peter smiled since he was finally free, "You'll have to destroy the cuffs first."

The figure wasn't pleased at all, "Or I can do this. PETRIFICUS TOTALUS." The figure smiled as Peter fell to the ground paralyzed. With his wand still out, the figure opened the door and walked in before reaching into his coat pockets. The figure found the hidden compartment and smiled as he pulled out the wand. Walking out of the cell, the figure smiled before reviving the Rat.

"You bastard. What did you do." Peter shouted.

The figure smiled before showing the white bone wand, "Here's the thing Peter. If you make it to trial, we could all suffer. After Igor's betrayal, the last thing we need is loose ends"

Peter's eyes widened, "Lucius you bastard. You're going to kill me aren't you." Peter growled.

The light shone on the figure showing a smiling Lucius Malfoy as he pointed his wand at Peter, "That's right Peter. AVADA KEDAVRA" Lucius said coldly and in moments Peter was dead. Lucius smiled before using the spells that Rookwood taught him to erase his presence before leaving Peter alone. Now he had his Lord's wand, and the liability was gone. He would hold onto his master's wand for now since there was a distinct possibility that his master could return, and he needed something to get into his good graces.

(Hogwarts)

Harry and his fellow Slytherin's turned the corner to the Charms classroom when Harry looked up and saw a surprising face waiting for him in front of the door, "Hello there pup." Sirius smiled.

Under the circumstances most people would run over excitedly but Harry wasn't most people, "What happened Sirius."

"I'll tell you later. We need to go now. Don't worry about Filius, I told him the situation and he understands."

Harry nodded before focusing on his girls, "Hopefully I'll be back later but for now, I need to go. Can you take notes for me Daphne" Harry said softly..

"Sure. Do whatever you need to do." Daphne smiled warmly.

"Thanks girls." Harry smiled before focusing on Sirius, "Let's go."

"Right" Sirius replied, and they walked to Dumbledore's office where Amelia was with Albus, and neither was pleased.

"He's here." Sirius said calmly.

"Thank you Sirius." Amelia said calmly and Harry and Sirius stayed at the edge.

"What happened that you're pulling me from class." Harry scowled.

"Peter Pettigrew was found dead this morning in his cell." Amelia scowled.

Harry narrowed his eyes, "Given the way you're scowling, I assume he wasn't in the typical DMLE holding cells."

"He wasn't. He was in a special area known only to the Unspeakables. We couldn't risk him getting away under the circumstances." Amelia said furiously.

Harry narrowed his eyes, "I remember from old articles that a lot of old Death eaters used the excuse of the Imperius Curse to avoid justice in the last war correct."

"Yes. It was idiotic but I wasn't in control back then. If I was there's no way they would've gotten away with it."

"I'm assuming the Head Unspeakable is doing a full investigation of all the people who knew the location." Harry asked.

"They are. As a courtesy to me, they'll give me the results once it's finished but I have no idea what's going to happen." Amelia said angrily.

"Damn it. As glad as I am to see Peter dead I wanted answers." Sirius fumed.

"And that's why he was killed." Harry scowled.

"What do you mean pup." Sirius wondered.

"Peter was a known Death Eater and because of that he could answer certain questions including one specific question that would change everything."

Amelia was curious, "Which question is that?"

"It's a question that's bothered me for years actually. If the Dark Lord truly put his followers under the Imperius Curse as many of them claimed, what was the point of the Dark Mark." Harry said calmly.

The three adults in the room were stunned that Harry came up with that, "Mr... Potter that is an excellent question and I know the perfect person to ask" Amelia smiled.

"Who's that Amy." Sirius frowned.

"Augusts Rookwood. A former Unspeakable and one of the only people who would know how Peter was found." Amelia revealed.

"Would he be able to help though. The Unspeakables are supposed to be a specialized group even by usual standards of the idea. If one of their members was a traitor, it would make sense that there was a complete overhaul to prevent more secrets from being revealed.' Harry explained.

"Fair point. Regardless we'll wait to see what the Head Unspeakable has to say and go from there." Amelia sighed. This was not good, and a lot of questions would need answering.

"No it isn't." Sirius nodded.

"Amelia is there anything else you need or can Mr. Potter return to class." Dumbledore wondered.

"No. I just thought it would be better for him to learn now instead of find out in the papers tomorrow." Amelia said calmly.

"Then return to class Mr. Potter. What is already a complicated week has only become more so." Dumbledore sighed.

"Thank you sir. See you later Sirius." Harry smiled.

"Bye pup. Try to have a good day."

"I will." Harry smiled bitterly but this was definitely on the unpleasant side.

Notes:• The timeline for everything with Voldemort and Harry has always bothered me a bit. The Prophecy was said in 1980 I'm guessing early June to mid-July. I don't know if it was mentioned canonically when they were hidden and how that's connected but why wait a year? Something about that should bother a lot of people.

• The Prophecy wasn't mentioned for a very specific reason that will be addressed later.

• Some might ask why the twins didn't know about Peter when they knew about the map and Sirius thanks to Tonks. The answer is that Tonks wanted to keep as many secrets about the Marauder's as possible.

• If you want to know where most of the manipulative Dumbledore stories get their teeth from it's things like Peter Pettigrew hiding at Hogwarts for years unnoticed. That simply cannot happen.
