Lin Yifan thought of three possibilities. The first was that the "information" had already been taken by the intelligence organization's operatives; the second was that his movements had already been noticed by the operatives; and the third was that the operatives were playing psychological and attrition games with those secretly tracking him.
Each possibility seemed plausible, and at the moment, he didn't know which to believe.
"If I believe the first and second, what if it's actually the third?"
Lin Yifan found a commonality between the first and second possibilities because if he believed either one, he would have to leave here or go to retrieve the floating hemp sack at sea to check if the "information" he wrote was still inside.
Once he left or appeared on the sea, he might miss, or be discovered by the hidden operatives of the intelligence organization, thus losing the chance to catch them.
