Chapter 149 - Elven Forest City (2)

It was around this moment, where even Anastasi was confused. Why would Sil give such an expensive gift to the boy she's about to kill? She must have a reason, I need to work on learning my wife's thoughts. I wonder if this is the reason my brother didn't want to come with us. … No, he's still recovering from how wild us women were. Not letting him rest that whole time really did a number on him. Let's wait and see what the reason is.

"Huh? What was that?" Hougan's victim asked.

"That was the inventory your rapist's child was granted due to his bloodline. A real shame I killed all of them already. But, oh well. I might have forced them to reproduce just to get more of these things… Maybe… I really did hate their guts."

"I'll kill you, you witch bitch! How dare you kill my daddy!"

"And this is the last thing I needed. Boy, you just lost the last chance at staying alive. You've levied a threat against me. Turn around and take a look. The people you lorded over, now want to claim your soul for themselves. I'm not saving you either. The bastard son of my enemy, I've already shown you far more courtesy than I needed to, and it was all out of my desire to see you live. The desire born from being the loving mother of all my followers."

The boy's mother started walking towards Decem. She wore a false smile to hide her true intentions. It wasn't very good, but it was at least good enough to handle dealing with children.

"Mommy, this evil witch wants to kill me, your son!"

The woman simply held her boy, keeping up the motherly appearance the whole time. Giving him a warm hug and a squeeze. "It's alright Decem, mother is here for you." She did her best to hold him in the same way she had just been held by Night Silver.

"I miss daddy, b… Ugh" Blood spilled from his throat and mouth. There was no longer any way he could possibly utter anymore words.

There was a dagger slightly protruding from his neck. And a look of bewilderment filled his eyes. He knew who did it, but he couldn't comprehend why. "I don't expect, nor want you to forgive me. You're no child of mine." The woman said, guiding the dagger with just enough force to tear out towards the side of the boy's neck, and she let go of him. Where he now floated, his blood pooling on the floor beneath him. And another one of these cubes appeared beside his corpse. The woman grabbed the box and brought it to her mother. "Mother, please take this." She said with a clear and pleasant smile. It was as if she had heaved the final boulder holding her down.

"I'll gratefully accept this. And welcome you to my nation." Night Silver replied, now holding the ninth player-like inventory she had gathered.

The woman hearing the words she had longed to hear, removed her entire outfit. And from an outstretched hand, she took the traditional outfit of the Nadairian woman. Once she put it on, it was like she became ten times more beautiful, and her emotions had peaked, she finally felt alive for the first time in a long time. "Thank you mother, I love you with all my heart."

"Pfft, you're a good child. I'm happy you've recovered from your tormented past." Night Silver giggled, letting the woman's head lay in her bosom. "Alright then. Now, for the rest of you, you should start seeing the reason why that boy had to die by now, right?"

The other elves, men and women alike started nodding in agreements, tears rolling down their faces. "Yes, mother! We understand! Please forgive us for being so weak, and falling into the temptations of the demon man."

"Calm down, it's fine." She said, in a relaxed yet firm tone. "There's no need to feel bad now. I've dealt with the wretch myself. Though, to make his own son a target, and even doing so deliberately, I really should have tormented him for far longer than I did. Oh well." She sighed. "Anyways, you there? Do you have a wife and a husband?" She pointed to an elven woman.

"Uh, I only have a husband, mother. I do have a really close friend, she's had trouble finding a man she likes too."

The friend the elven woman talked about, quickly looked up, as if shocked. "Huh? Did you have to bring up my man troubles?"

"Pfft, you know it's true, and there's no need to hide anything from our loving mother."

"True…"

"Alright, perfect, I recognize you now as wives to each other, and whatever that man you already had, as well as he is a husband to the both of you. Run him ragged or not, I don't care." Night Silver said. "Step forward and kiss each other. Then I will bestow upon you, royal cloth. You'll be in charge of this city, ridding it of the horrible demon's influence propaganda, and running it as a safe haven for those who worship me."

It didn't take long for the women to do exactly what their mother ordered. The idea of loving each other had crossed their minds more than a few times, but Hougan had out right banned any relationships that went astray from a single man and a single woman. So this wasn't just a blessing, it was something they longed for.

"I still can't understand that flawed thinking of his. Forcing his own nonsense on everyone here. Didn't he know the only reason such an arrangement only led to horrible cultural issues?" She sighed. "Good, now that I've finished setting everything up, I'll come back to check on you occasionally. The only thing you really need to worry about, is ruling this place as if I would. That's about it… So no restrictions on love between adults. Such a thing only stagnates development and rapidly creates untold hardships."

"You can trust us, mother. If we have any questions, we will ask you about them whenever you return to us."

Night Silver, Anastasi, and now the woman who had been Hougan's plaything, left the city and continued the trek towards Eryuentiu.
