Chapter 243 - 236: Arrival at Yunhai City

Thanks to the high efficiency of the mass-produced destroyer and the fact that Zeppelin and August had used carrier planes to eliminate most of the Sirens that were blocking their way, Lin Lan was able to see the outline of Yunhai City's skyline from the deck in the early hours of the third day.

Although there were fewer flights over time, the sea was still busy with many passenger ships and cargo ships sailing from afar.

At the suggestion of Sun Dewang, the Iron Blood mass-produced destroyer that Lin Lan and his group were on was painted with the logo of the Tian'ou Group.

As a result, they didn't attract any hindrances when they docked at Yunhai City's bustling harbor.

Although the imposing mass-produced destroyer caught the attention of many people on the dock, when they saw the Tian'ou Group logo on the hull, the ordinary people quickly lost interest.

As for the harbor police who were maintaining order, they were all employees of the Tian'ou Group and would never cause trouble for Lin Lan and his group.

In fact, they all respectfully saluted them.

After disembarking with the shipgirls and following Sun Dewang, Lin Lan looked at the bustling dock that was already so lively in the early morning and couldn't help but take a deep breath.

It was just as he had seen on television before.

On the dock streets of Yunhai City, in addition to the Orlan people, there were also cute chess piece shipgirls, Liáo Zhōu people with animal ears or horns, and missionaries from the Teachings Nation wearing dark robes.

Travelers with luggage waiting for the ship, vendors selling goods at street stalls, commanders bringing shipgirls for fun, Liao Zhou laborers transporting goods, and some robotic laborers made up the majority of the people on the dock.

Fortunately, the dock was very spacious, and since Yunhai City had more than just this one dock, it didn't feel overcrowded.

With Sun Dewang's enthusiastic arrangements, Lin Lan and his shipgirls were prepared to leave the dock, head to the road, and then take a luxury car sent by Tian'ou Group to the villa.

Of course, Lin Lan had also made sure to have Sun Dewang arrange their accommodation closer to the Teachings Nation's church.

"It's so lively here! It's much busier than that place, what was it called? Yalang City," said Agir, tightly holding onto Lin Lan's arm, as she admired the crowds and vendor shops around them.

In the past two days, Lin Lan had almost been drained physically.

But luckily, he had enough rest and the nutritious meals cooked by Roon, and his physical strength and energy had mostly recovered.

"After all, Yunhai City is the second capital of the Orlan United States, known as the Western Continent's Huan Yang City.

It's bound to be prosperous," Lin Lan explained to Agir and the other shipgirls. Although he had never been to Yunhai City himself, he had seen it on TV programs.

"Commander, Fragments has been here before," said Fragments, the white-haired Overlord mech girl, suddenly tugging at his sleeve.

"You've been here? When was that?" Lin Lan turned to look at Fragments in surprise.

Even though Fragments had great flying speed, it would be impossible for her to fly back and forth to here every day from his port, right?

"Not long after Fragments was built in the factory, I came here for equipment testing and parts upgrades along with other companions," Fragments explained.

Upon hearing this, Lin Lan realized that Fragments was talking about her time when she was still a Overlord Mecha.

At that time, Yunhai City was already a large city.

Lin Lan had reviewed the data on Overlord Mecha during this time, and it was clear that producing the Overlord Mechas required materials and technical assemblies from many cities across the Orlan United States.

After the Overlord Mechas were built, their maintenance and upgrades involved traveling back and forth to various major cities' armories, depending on the necessary technology and parts.

It wasn't surprising that Fragments had come to Yunhai City.

"There weren't so many people here back then, and the buildings weren't as tall," Fragments said softly, looking at the city's towering skyscrapers with a hint of nostalgia.

"After all, after the war against the Natlan Empire, Orlan has been developing its economy and improving people's livelihoods. If it weren't for the Siren attacks, it would have been even more prosperous here," Lin Lan said, gently stroking Fragments' head.

The Sirens brought disaster and destruction to the Orlan United States, but they also brought cube technology and shipgirls.

Now, the rapid development of Orlan's robot intelligence technology and the birth of technologies like shield generators were all derived from cube technology.

About ten minutes later, the group finally left the dock and arrived on a busy road.

By then, Z23, Z46, Fragments, and the three little wolf girls were all holding candies and snacks that Lin Lan had bought for them from the shops on the dockside.

Soon, a large business car arranged by Tian'ou Group stopped in front of them.

In the Orlan United States' big cities, cars were all equipped with automatic driving systems, and Yunhai City was no exception.

Sun Dewang sat in the driver's seat. Although he didn't need to drive, it was for emergency situations just in case.

Lin Lan sat in the spacious business vehicle at the back, next to August and Ulrich.

"Servant, I have an interesting thing to tell you," August suddenly leaned close to Lin Lan's ear and whispered as the vehicle drove on.

"That human, Sun Dewang, really seems to have developed a sincere admiration for you, heh heh..."

Lin Lan glanced at August's smiling face and asked, "Are you sure? How could he possibly admire me sincerely?"

It didn't surprise him that August noticed, as he had already asked her to find an opportunity to drop a hint to Sun Dewang.

But the fact that Sun Dewang had developed a sincere admiration before receiving the hint seemed ridiculous.

He didn't think he had any kingly aura about him, and he hadn't interacted with Sun Dewang much. So what was the deal?

"Never mind, anyway, you've already dropped the hint," Lin Lan said, not willing to think about it any longer.

"Once we get to the villa, everyone should rest. Tonight, Ulrich, call Roon and Agir, and we'll go out together."

Lin Lan turned to the black-haired, golden-eyed girl who hadn't spoken, her presence almost invisible, and said seriously,

"Since I've already made up my mind to clear things up for Jian Qian'ou, I'll do it decisively."

Lin Lan planned to take action that very night and eliminate that Tian'ou boss named Yang.

"No problem," Ulrich responded, a slight curve to the corner of her mouth.

About half an hour later, the business car stopped on the roadside outside a luxury villa area.

"Master, Shipgirls, we've arrived!" Sun Dewang said enthusiastically as he led the group out of the car.

Lin Lan looked at the villa area and nodded slightly.

This area was clearly for the upper-class residents of Yunhai City. Surrounded by greenery, the scenery was pleasant, and there were many well-trimmed garden shrubs.

The villas were all three-story buildings with courtyards, exuding a luxurious and artistic vibe from the outside.

There was ample space between each villa, and each one had facilities like swimming pools, gardens, fountains, and sculptures.

It was only 8:30 in the morning, and the surroundings were very peaceful, with no noise from the city.

"Master, please follow me," Sun Dewang said, bowing politely as he led the way.

Just then, a voice filled with disdain came from behind the group: "Oh, look who it is. Isn't that Sun Dewang, the one exiled to Dongyun City?

Not only did he come back without saying a word, but he's now a lackey of the Navy?"
