Haruto lifted the blood-streaked veil of the operation room, stepping into the chilling silence. Ren's corpse was still there—torn apart, ravaged by canine teeth.
The flesh had been ripped clean off in places, revealing the pale white gleam of bone beneath.
Chunks of muscle were missing, and what remained of his face barely resembled anything human.
Half of it was gone, the other half a mangled ruin. Blood still oozed slowly from the gaping cheek cavity, pooling beneath the body like a grotesque offering.
Haruto shook his head, but the smile on his face never wavered.
"You deserved every second of that pain," he muttered. "Shame you died so quickly in the end."
Then he whispered under his breath, "Activate Psychometry of People."
