Mother Yun was shocked by what she heard next.
"Our professor is here to acknowledge kinship, and it's related to me."
Related to her younger daughter,
"Our professor is my Grand Aunt."
Grand Aunt?
Mother Yun thought she had misheard – how had a Grand Aunt suddenly emerged?
Hadn't her mom fled famine years ago, met her dad along the way, and then they married and had their siblings?
Could it be that her mom got separated from her siblings while fleeing the famine?
"After work, go with your dad to Grandma's place."
Mother Yun was still somewhat bewildered.
"Mom, these are some local products that your son-in-law asked me to bring for you. When you and dad come to Grandma's, bring me the backpack."
Mother Yun was handed a backpack.
"Really your Grand Aunt?"
Mother Yun remembered her mom had mentioned her before.
"They acknowledged each other as sisters, so it should be so."
