"There's nothing to resolve; we broke up," Jin Mo sniffled, her eyes cast downward, her expression indiscernible.
Xu Youyou stared at Jin Mo, her face a picture of shock. She opened her mouth but seemed unable to speak.
"Broke...up? Are you sure?" Xu Youyou lowered her voice and abruptly pulled Jin Mo out and into the bedroom, then closed the door behind them.
Hu Qiang sat on the couch, exchanging an awkward glance with Deng Huixu. Both were full of confusion, clueless about what had just happened.
"Jin Mo, even though you haven't said anything, I can still guess most of it. You broke up with Tang Yan because you didn't want to drag him down, thinking you couldn't stay in Ningjiang any longer, so you decided to leave, correct?"
Xu Youyou looked serious; she knew Jin Mo well enough to see through her thoughts.
Jin Mo's eyes stung, and she blinked away the tears threatening to fall, managing a bitter smile. "Since you know already, why ask? My decision won't change," she said.
