Jin Mo managed to stay sober, but Cathy was truly drunk, barely able to stand. Jin Mo couldn't leave her alone at a nearby hotel, so she had no choice but to take her home and settle her in.
Deng Huixu had just stepped out to buy groceries when she heard noises at the door. Upon opening it, the smell of alcohol filled the room, as though it had been soaked in a liquor vat.
"Grandma, come give me a hand," Jin Mo called out, and Deng Huixu hurried over. Together, they supported Cathy to the bedroom bed.
Jin Mo was panting. Getting Cathy up the stairs had been no easy feat. Her weight bore down on Jin Mo, nearly causing them both to fall several times.
Sweat had seeped down her back. Looking at Cathy lying on the bed, her face showed helplessness. It was supposed to be just a farewell dinner with her, and yet Jin Mo remained sober while Cathy drank herself into unconsciousness.
