Originally, fishing in the Northern region was already very difficult because there are few resources and the weather is not good. Fishing in the early winter in the North is even more difficult, almost like an air force reconnaissance mission.
Being able to catch even half a fish would be considered pretty good.
So, many fishing enthusiasts in the Northern region basically have only one helpless choice when winter arrives, and that is to hang up their rods.
It's not that they don't want to fish, but they really can't catch anything.
This is especially true for places like Hui Province and Lu Province, where it's considered the North, but not far enough north.
If it were a purely Northern place like the Northeast, there would be another possibility, which is ice fishing.
As long as the ice is solid enough for people to stand on, they can drill a hole in the ice and fish directly.
If ice fishing is done well and a school of fish is found, it can yield a good harvest.
