The man's voice wasn't soft, and everyone in the conference room could hear him clearly.
Gu Pan looked toward the source of the voice, not far away, a tall, thin, dark-skinned man was looking at them with disdain, his face almost brimming with contempt.
Her voice was cold as she said, "We are here by the arrangement of the Base Commander. If you are dissatisfied, you can go and find him. What's the use of complaining here?"
Her words were sharp, and the man's face turned ugly as she spoke, "Don't think that no one knows it's just clinging to connections. A son of the Deputy Base Commander, would you have been able to come to Mount Everest without that connection? Really thinking highly of yourselves."
Gu Pan smiled, "You seem to know so much about us, were you our family's butler or nanny? And here I thought everyone sitting in this room upheld national integrity, yet here we are with lowlifes like you."
Her words made many around them almost burst out in laughter.
