"That sounds about right," Dave nodded. "Magic feels the same. Just replace 'phone' with 'ancient artifact that really wants to melt reality.'"
Suddenly—
BOOM!
A car across the street exploded in a fireball, the shockwave rattling their tray and flipping over Dave's soda.
Peter was already halfway out of his seat. "You had to say something about reality melting, huh?"
Dave stood, brushing his coat back and letting a glowing sigil hum to life in his palm. "Well, guess dessert's canceled."
Across the smoke, a figure emerged—hulking, partially cybernetic, with a glowing red symbol on its chest pulsing with unstable energy and most disint fetar along tail with stinger at the end.
"Do you know that guy?" Dave asked.
Peter nodded. "Yeah, that's Scorpion. He once came after me, and after getting a decent beating, he ran away."
"Spider-bug! Today, I will see you squashed!" Scorpion roared as he spread destruction all around on streets, trying to call Spiderman. "Come on, Spider-bug!"
"He's all yours," Dave said as he stepped back.
Peter nodded and headed to the bathroom to change into his Spider-Man suit. In this world, his suit was made of advanced nanotech, supplied by S.H.I.E.L.D. as part of their upgraded tech package. The suit seamlessly formed around him as he stepped back out, the red-and-blue design gleaming with a sleek, futuristic finish.
He walked to the rooftop edge and called out, "Yo! I'm here!"
Just as Scorpion turned, Peter launched himself forward with a flying spinning kick, landing it square on Scorpion's face, sending the villain staggering back.
Scorpion snarled, regaining his balance as he cracked his neck. "You'll pay for that, Spider-Bug!"
He lunged forward, tail lashing like a whip—but Peter flipped over him effortlessly, landing behind him with a smirk.
"Gotta be quicker than that, Scorpy!"
Before Scorpion could retaliate, a sudden wave of force pushed him sideways. Dave stood nearby, one hand glowing faintly with magic, his other hand in his pocket.
"I was promised a show," Dave said casually. "So far, it's a little... mid."
Peter chuckled. "Well, feel free to spice things up."
Scorpion growled, glaring at Dave. "You! You're that weird magic guy!"
Dave gave a theatrical bow. "Guilty. Now let's see if your tail can keep up with some real tricks."
He snapped his fingers—and suddenly the ground beneath Scorpion shimmered and became slick as ice. Scorpion slipped, stumbling forward just as Peter webbed his legs together, yanking him off his feet.
The villain hit the pavement hard.
"Nice one," Peter grinned.
Dave cracked his knuckles. "I'm just warming up."
Scorpion, furious, began to surge with energy. "You little—!"
He launched a barrage of tail strikes—one aimed for Peter, the other swinging toward Dave. Peter dodged mid-air, webbing up the tail mid-swing. Dave simply raised a finger, muttering a word—and the strike froze in place, encased in magical light.
"You're not the only one with tricks," Dave said, flicking the tail away with a pulse of energy.
Scorpion roared, muscles bulging beneath his armored suit. "You think this is over?!"
He slammed his tail into the ground, causing a small shockwave that forced both Peter and Dave back slightly. Dave narrowed his eyes.
"Okay, now that was actually impressive," he admitted, brushing off debris from his coat.
Peter, flipping back onto a lamppost, shot a webline. "Tag team time?"
Dave smirked. "With pleasure."
Peter dove in first, landing a solid right hook before flipping over Scorpion's back. As Scorpion turned to retaliate, Dave muttered an incantation under his breath—golden runes lit up in the air and suddenly, a portal opened above Scorpion's head.
From it, a barrage of glowing magical spears launched downward. Scorpion raised his tail as a shield, blocking a few—but several struck true, staggering him.
"WHERE are you even from?!" Scorpion shouted.
"From a different universe where your insults are better," Dave shot back, creating a glowing magic circle under Scorpion's feet. A binding glyph activated, trapping his legs for a moment.
Peter seized the chance and webbed his tail to a nearby wall, yanking hard. Scorpion grunted, off-balance.
"I call this combo... Web Slam & Wham!" Peter yelled.
He swung in, hit Scorpion square in the chest—and right as Scorpion stumbled backward, Dave appeared behind him and delivered a gravity-enhanced uppercut. Scorpion flew straight into the air and crashed through a billboard.
Boom.
He hit the ground a moment later with a thud, groaning.
"Is he down?" Peter asked, panting a little.
Dave raised a hand, scanning the area with a glowing sigil.
"Temporarily. He's regenerating fast... some tech in his suit is repairing him."
Peter sighed. "Well, it was a good combo."
Dave's eyes narrowed. "Then it's time for round two."
Just as they braced themselves, a sudden rippling pulse echoed from down the street—followed by a deep, almost alien roar.
Peter looked toward the sound.
"…Please tell me that wasn't Venom."
Dave didn't even blink. "If by Venom you mean , black hulk with jagged teeth maw and long saliva driping tongue, then you are right its Venom"
Peter blinked twice, then groaned. "Yup. That's exactly what I meant."
A low growl echoed through the street as the shadows twisted unnaturally. From around the corner, the hulking form of Venom emerged—eight feet tall, muscles like steel cables, eyes wide and wild, and his long, snake-like tongue flicking with every breath. Black ooze clung to the pavement as he walked, hissing with every step.
"Spiderrrrr..." Venom hissed, voice layered like a chorus of nightmares. "You brought... company."
Dave gave the creature a once-over and cracked his neck.
"Great. A possessed bodybuilder dipped in motor oil. How original."
Venom turned his attention toward Dave now, narrowing those alien white eyes. "You smell... different. Not from here. You don't belong."
Dave rolled his eyes. "Trust me, I've heard that one before."
Peter leapt to Dave's side. "Uh, yeah, so—Venom? Really not a fan of sharing. Might wanna back up."
Venom roared and lunged at both of them, claws outstretched.
BOOM!
The street cracked under his leap.
Peter webbed a car and flung it into Venom's path, causing him to crash through it with a snarl. Dave spun his hand and a glowing blue sigil appeared in the air. He slammed it down and summoned a blast of arcane wind, throwing Venom back several feet.
"I'll handle him," Dave said calmly, his hands glowing. "You distract him for six seconds."
Peter's eyes widened. "Six?! That's, like, three more than I usually get!"
"Make it work, Spidey."
