"Huh, what is this?" Dave muttered as he stared at the newly unlocked fifth template, confusion written all over his face. This wasn't what he expected at all.
It had been three days since he returned from the Dragon Ball universe, and his new template had finally been selected. But it was completely different from what he had anticipated—utterly outside his expectations.
"Alt Asta?"
It was a template he didn't know. Of course, he knew who Asta was—but what was Alt Asta?
So he dived into its depths.
[Alt Asta: In an alternate world, Asta was born with immense magical power. His mother's unique Null Magic evolved—and is now fully controllable.]
[Null Magic: A type of magic that denies everything in its path—be it physical, spiritual, or magical. It erases, nullifies, and renders all forces powerless.]
[The strongest type of magic that can exist in the Black Clover world. Anyone born with magic either lives a lonely life or dies by the very magic they possess. But Alt Asta's path was rewritten—with the birth of evolved Null Magic, now mastered by him and destined to be passed on to his bloodline.]
[Alt Asta's side remained undefeated, revered and feared, as the Null Magic reshaped the world order for centuries to come.]
[ Template Mission : Got to Black Clover World and becoem the strongest and sit on the throne of Wizard King ]
"Hmm, Null Magic turned out to be quite great," Dave mumbled as he finished reading the introduction.
"Still, I just returned from another world… let's go there later." Dave muttered as he exited the system and stood up from the bed, stretching before checking his schedule.
That was when the unexpected call came in.
Tony.
"Long time no see," Dave said as Tony's visage appeared from the other side of the hologram stream. "I thought the initaiative we started need us both yet I haven't seen you around."
Tony then added with frustration. "you dumped all work on me, while you yourself is living a happy and carefree life."
Dave crossed his arms. "I already sent someone to you—a capable leader who can handle what you need. What else is do you need?"
Tony sighed again, his expression a mix of concern and urgency.
"Anyway... I'm here to talk to you about something else entirely."
"What is it?" Dave asked, watching Tony's face tighten as he began.
"Do you remember the Ten Rings? That clown guy… and also that Aldritch-killing lunatic who somehow took over my company?"
Dave raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, back when you were just a billionaire playboy drunk on his new power you ignored the Company and he used the chance to attack, he staged a surprise attack, crashed into your company, and tried to take everything over. What about him?"
Tony's voice dropped a notch. "The true leader of the Ten Rings has returned. He's here now—and old. Like, ancient. Immortal, supposedly. Wielding the real Ten Rings. He's been hiding for thousands of years."
"So what?" Dave said, folding his arms. "We've dealt with worse. Let me guess—he wants one of our global intel cores or something?"
Tony nodded grimly. "He wants to integrate our entire initiative into his empire. I would've handled it myself… but I lost. The guy's too powerful—and he even knows some kind of advanced kung fu crap."
Dave smirked, arms crossed. "Heh, I get it. Let me guess—he's got ten rings, each with some busted ability. Phasing through walls, energy constructs, blasting armies. Typical overpowered ancient warlord stuff."
He leaned forward, voice more serious. "So, what happened after you lost to him?"
Tony let out a frustrated chuckle. "Well… now he wants control over everything. The whole initiative. Aizen's going to fight him next, but honestly? I'm more worried that Aizen might lose too."
Dave's expression shifted. His smirk faded into something colder, more focused.
"If Aizen's fighting… then this guy's is over. Still, I'll come. Send me the location of the next battle."
Tony nodded and sent the encrypted data packet through the uplink.
"It's set for next Sunday."
Dave glanced at the transmission, nodded once. "Got it. I'll be there."
"Since it's on Sunday, that gives me over a week," Dave muttered as he stretched.
"I wonder what other plans are buried in this multiverse thread… it's been quiet for too long."
He walked to the window, half expecting something to drop from the sky at any moment.
Then it hit him. "Wait... by extended timeline, isn't today the Oscorp tour? And Spider-Man's supposed to be getting his powers?"
Dave reached for his phone, quickly checking the date.
"Yeah… today's the day Peter Parker from this world gets bitten."
He leaned back, eyes narrowing thoughtfully.
"That means my Marvel timeline finally gets its Spider-Man."
Dave smiled as he tapped on his tablet. An image popped up—Peter Parker. Specifically, Andrew Garfield's version from the Amazing Spider-Man universe. Dave had identified him already.
"I've been looking forward to this," he muttered, closing the tablet as he moved on with his usual day.
As the sun climbed higher over the city skyline, Dave casually strolled through the heart of Midtown, blending in with the crowd. His presence was cloaked—not magically, but subtly masked by tech and aura compression. No one would recognize him unless he wanted them to.
He passed by Oscorp Tower, glancing up just as a school tour group entered the building.
"There he is," Dave whispered, spotting Peter—young, lanky, camera slung around his neck, moving nervously with the rest of the Midtown High students. Gwen Stacy was beside him, pointing out something in the architecture.
Dave kept walking, hands in his pockets.
"Enjoy this day, kid. It'll be the last one you live as a normal person."
He stopped by a small café across the street, ordering a drink and taking a seat by the window. His eyes didn't leave the tower.
Moments later, his comm buzzed.
[Encrypted Message: Aizen]
"I've encountered the Ten Rings' scouts. They're not normal humans anymore."
Dave raised an eyebrow.
"Of course they're not," he muttered, typing a quick response.
"Hold them off. I'll be ready before the main fight."
Just as he hit send, his eyes flicked upward—and there it was.
High above the tour route, behind the reinforced glass of Oscorp's genetics lab… a single genetically engineered spider slowly descended toward Peter Parker's neck.
Dave grinned.
"Showtime."
