Just like that, the fight seemed to be over. Arthur layed on the ground motionless, yet the signal from his watch showed he was still alive, if only barely.
His internal organs had been ruptured, and his heart was barely beating. God only knew how long he had left, before that stopped beating as well.
The room remained deathly silent, as they waited for even the slightest hint of his natural healing ability to kick in, but it never did.
Maria stared in horror at his seemingly lifeless body. Without any hesitation, she rushed over to the button to notify the medics. Before she could press it, her hand was grabbed, looking up she could see Shawn shaking his head.
On the ground below them, Arthur's body twitched. He slowly rose to his feet, a dark aura began to surround his body. He slowly looked up, his glowing white eyes trained on them.
The woman readied herself and prepared to take a step forward, but it was already to late, he was no longer there. She scanned the room, trying to find any trace of him, but there was nothing.
Without warning, her hair stood on end, as a gust of wind shot past her. Loud roars of thunder rang out all around her, she was unable to see what was happening but she could feel the heavy shockwaves pushing against her body.
No one could see anything, but even the ones in the upper room could feel it. As the fight continued, everyone assumed the two were evenly matched in strength and speed. But they soon found out, that couldn't be further from the truth. Unbeknownst to them, Arthur was far faster and stronger. The reason for the shockwaves was not because of a contest of strength, it was simply only the strength of Arthur himself. He hadn't received a single blow, and only dealt the damage, himself.
In a small window of silence one last bang went off. Looking to one of the walls, they could see the remnants of the impact, as the mans body left a dent after bouncing off of it and landing on the floor.
Everyone looked at the body, and dent in the wall, in shock. Then Arthur appeared right beside him. He bent down to one knee, he took a moment to check his pulse. After a few seconds, he stood back up. Looking towards the other room, he held his thumb up, signifying the man was still alive.
They all let out a sigh of relief, Maria walked over and pressed the button allowing the medics to enter. As they began to treat him, Arthur turned towards the woman.
"Mercy for your opponents, that's just pathetic. And here I thought, you were worth something."
When he turned he had expected to see the woman, a few feet away. Instead he was met with a fist to the face, sending him flying across the room.
"Don't disgrace the poor bastard, let him die like a man."
The short haired man was now standing over the medics. He reached down to grab the man, but they disappeared right infront of him. Looking across the room, they were surprised to see they had moved closer to the door.
"It's time for you to leave, it's not safe here."
The long haired man, held the woman in his arms. He placed her down by the door with the rest. They looked at him in confusion and surprise, but they understood the situation. Even the woman listened to his warning without a second thought.
"You're really starting to piss me off, Song."
"And you, me, Rose."
As they all left the room, Arthur walked to the center of the room, in the middle of the two.
As he walked, he allowed his body to finally heal the accumulated damage. Once he reached the center, he grabbed his jaw, and snapped it back into place.
"I knew it the moment I saw you two, you're strong. But you, Rose, right? You seem to have a temper problem, the aggression could be useful in some cases though."
"Don't try to analyze me, I'm not some toy for you to play with."
Arthur laughed to himself at the comment:
"Heh fine, fine. Would you mind showing me your watches before we start. I like to know who my teammates are."
The two of them looked to one another, turning towards the window of the other room they both held their arms out.
"Our power hadn't been measured by the doctor yet. But feel free to test it now."
As he said this, he channeled all of his power into the watch. The room began to vibrate, and the air became heavy. Everyone in the room found it hard to stand as the vibrations hit their bodies.
Then after a few seconds the watched shattered on his wrist, and the results were posted on the computer beside Laura.
"I've never seen this one before, is this a good thing?"
Everyone looked to her, seeing the screen, their eyes widened. A holographic screen appeared on the wall behind him.
Isaiah Rose
Class: Lesser Demon (stage 1)
Ability: -
Rank: Divine
"My ability is called "Ashen War", be sure to update that for me princess."
He smirked as he kept his eyes on Arthurs' reaction. He could see just what he was looking for, his face was that of shock and confusion. He knew a bit about the ranks but divine wasn't something he heard of.
The room began to vibrate again as the other man did the same, but it was more controlled. It was more of a show of control, rather than that of power.
His data appeared right beside that of Isaiahs':
Jerald Song
Class: Lesser Demon (stage 1)
Ability: -
Rank: Divine
"Void King."
Arthur stared at the information for a second.
'Not just one, but two. I've never seen that rank before, does that mean they outrank me?'
"Don't get scared now!"
The words snapped him out of his daze, but it was a little too late. He had a split second to react. Putting his hands up he guarded against a strike that never came. Blood spilt from his mouth as a heavy fist struck his stomach. But that was also in his head because the real attack landed on the middle of his spine, sending him flying forward.
"Now that's a real feint."
Isaiah laughed to himself as he lowered his leg. He looked over to Jerald with a smirk under his mask. He straightened himself and slowly began to walk towards him.
"So I guess that makes you and I the strongest here, then. That means if I kill you, I get to take everything here for myself."
He smiled at him, his eyes shined with bright radiance:
"You better not hold back, then."
As Isaiah eyes turned into pools of darkness, black smoke began to surround his body. Kicking off, he met him in the middle of the room. A shockwave was sent out as their fists clashed against one another. In terms of physical prowess they seemed evenly matched, it was only when their abilities came into play that the fight seemed to advance.
Isaiah seemed to have basic knowledge of most if not all fighting styles, allowing him to predict what Jerald would do next. But it didn't help him, when Jerald would apply his own ability to his fighting style. When Isaiah thought he had him on the ropes, he and his attacks would teleport somewhere unpredictable, causing him to struggle a bit. Yet every so often Jerald would notice him adapting to this style of fighting. It impressed him, and caused him to advance it even more.
As the battle raged on, the effects could be felt throughout the entire building. The two guards outside Maria's work space, looked at one another. They rushed into the room, with their abilities at the ready. The thought of something being wrong played in their heads over and over. Once they entered the room they were frozen in place.
The young woman with curly red hair, sat at the edge of her bed. She stared at her hands, twisting and turning them, as if not used to their appearance. She looked around the room confused with her surroundings, then her eyes landed on the woman in the other bed. She slowly stood, and made her way to her side.
"I made it back, Ashley. I hope you make it back as well, I'm sure we'll meet again. I'll be here when you get back, I promise."
She placed a kiss on the sleeping woman's forehead. Turning her head, her green eyes began to glow as she looked at the two guards at the door. She walked past them as they stood frozen in place, turning her head she noticed the doctor not far from her sister.
Her eyes lingered on the body of the demon on the table for a moment, she looked at it in disgust. The time in the cave flashed in her head, a spark of anger flashed in her mind. She waved her hand towards the demons body. Turning away she walked out into the hall, leaving the disintegrating body of the demon behind.
As she walked the unfamiliar halls, she scanned the rooms as she passed. Each and every person in the building remaind motionless, nothing and no one moved in her presence.
There was a sudden shockwave that rang out, the energy passed through her as the sound reached her ears. She looked towards the direction it originated, she moved towards the sound only to be stopped by a metal door. She looked towards the keypad on the door, as her head tilted she heard a sudden voice behind her.
"I can't help but feel partially responsible..."
The mans voice was followed by a familiar one:
"Alright, looks like we're here."
Looking behind her, her glowing eyes twitched as translucent figures walked into her path. The woman at the front of the group, place her hands onto the keypad. As her eyes twitched once more, the group was gone. She placed her hand onto the keypad, and inputed the code.
As she walked into the room, her body seemed to glitch in and out of reality as she appeared in the room behind four people. She softly placed her hand on the shoulder of the woman with the long black hair.
Her frozen body slowly came to life, she looked around the room in confusion. Everyone else seemed to be stuck in place unable to move, she waved her hand infront of the mans face. There was no movement, placing her hand below his nose, she noticed there was no air coming out either.
She felt a gaze, watching her. She quickly turned around, to see the red haired woman standing motionless behind her.
"So...Sofia??"
"We have plenty to discuss, Maria."
