"Hey, Sirus, are you guys going to the cafeteria, or did you bring your own lunch?"
"We brought our own lunch."
"Perfect! I brought mine too. Let's find a place together! Videl, you come too!"
At lunchtime, Elisa was delighted to hear that Yuujin and the others had also brought their own lunches.
The group left the classroom and quickly found a shady spot on the campus lawn.
Although the school had a cafeteria, the quality of the food was rather unappealing. Most students preferred to bring their own lunches.
Elisa and Videl took out their packed lunches, while Yuujin reached into his pocket, pulled out a Capsule, and tossed it onto the ground.
With a small explosion, a massive spread of food suddenly appeared before them.
"Whoa! Time to eat!"
Cheering excitedly, Gokumi and Broly immediately began devouring the feast.
Saiyans had absolutely no resistance to food.
"T-This is your lunch?!"
Elisa and Videl's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets at the sight of the extravagant meal.
Lunch? Even a presidential banquet at a five-star hotel wouldn't be this lavish!
"Yeah, what about it?"
Already eating, Yuujin responded nonchalantly.
After all, they were a god and goddess. The food they usually ate was always the best and most luxurious. Considering the inconveniences of school life, their maids had already simplified their packed meals considerably.
"Sirus, are you guys from some ridiculously wealthy family?"
"Not exactly what you're thinking, but yeah, our family does have a lot of money. It's pretty much endless, really."
"E-Endless?!"
Elisa covered her mouth, feeling dizzy.
No wonder these guys never studied—sleeping or playing around in class all day. If they had endless money, why would they even bother with school? They could just enjoy life every day!
Elisa suddenly felt a sharp pain in her chest.
Damn these filthy rich capitalists!
"Here, take my lunch!"
Huffing in frustration, Elisa shoved her lunch into Yuujin's hands and then grabbed a plate of his food, digging in without hesitation.
Yuujin sighed slightly. This girl really didn't hold back at all.
"Videl, you should try some too."
Yuujin turned to Videl.
"No, I'm fine with my own lunch."
She shook her head, declining his offer.
Because her family was struggling financially and she had to train every morning, Videl usually didn't have time to prepare elaborate meals. Her lunch typically consisted of just a few simple rice balls.
But Videl was a strong-willed girl. She never felt embarrassed about her modest meals.
Just as she was about to eat her rice balls, however, her lunchbox was suddenly snatched away.
"Heh… so this is Videl's lunch? You made these rice balls yourself?"
"Mmm, not bad."
Before Videl could react, Yuujin had already eaten all of her rice balls in a few bites.
"Oops, my bad, Videl. I ate all your food."
"As compensation, you should have some of ours instead."
"Hahaha…"
Yuujin grinned, while Videl's face darkened. She knew full well he did it on purpose.
Yet, instead of getting angry, she felt warmth rising in her heart.
Yuujin and his friends had been at Orange Star High School for a few days now, and by now, Videl had a general sense of their personalities.
Unlike other students, they never mocked or isolated her just because she was Mr. Satan's daughter. They treated her like any other classmate. In fact, Yuujin had even once said that he believed her father was a true hero.
To them, these things might not have meant much. But for Videl—who had been mocked and isolated since childhood—these small gestures were incredibly precious.
"Sirus, the rest of the class is starting to isolate you guys, aren't they? You should probably keep your distance from me…"
Videl bit her lip and spoke softly.
She was grateful that Yuujin and the others treated her without prejudice. But precisely because of that, she didn't want them to be ostracized because of her.
"Videl, you're overthinking it."
"We're not liked by our classmates because of our own behavior. Let's be honest, we're terrible students who don't take school seriously."
Yuujin spoke indifferently.
It was true that they had been gradually isolated in class. When they first transferred in, their classmates had been curious, constantly surrounding them with questions. But now, few people spoke to them, and many even regarded them with mocking or indifferent gazes.
"That's not it—"
Videl started to protest, but Yuujin cut her off.
"Videl, I believe that people are different from one another."
"The class mocks and isolates you just because you're Mr. Satan's daughter, even though you've done nothing wrong. To me, they're nothing but cold-hearted and cruel."
"Well, maybe that's a bit harsh. Most of them are just going with the flow, afraid of being ostracized themselves."
"But I don't care what others think of you. The Videl I know is a hardworking, righteous, and kind girl who faces every challenge with courage."
"So, if I had to choose, I'd rather be friends with you than with anyone else in that class!"
Yuujin looked straight into Videl's eyes, his expression serious.
"Sirus, I knew you were a good guy!"
Elisa cheered while wrestling Gokumi for food. Meanwhile, Videl's heart pounded violently, and she felt the urge to cry.
"Sirus, you really don't have to do this…"
Clenching her hands, Videl lowered her head.
Friends… She never thought that, aside from Elisa, someone else would genuinely want to be her friend…
"Videl, this isn't like you at all."
"I think I've made myself clear. Videl, I want to be your friend."
"So what's your answer? Yes or no?"
Yuujin asked, shaking his head.
Sensing the shift in atmosphere, even Gokumi and the others paused their food battle, watching silently.
After a long moment, Videl finally lifted her head. Tears streamed down her face, but on her delicate features was a radiant smile—one so beautiful it would never be forgotten.
"I'd like that."
