Chapter 374: The Uninvited Guests

On Fierce Tiger Mountain, Lin Langtian, clad in heavy fire armor and wielding his black staff, exuded a terrifying aura. With a powerful swing, he struck the massive black tiger charging toward him, sending it crashing to the ground. Deep cracks spread outward from the impact point, and Lin Langtian's combined Nine-Yuan Nirvana strength and the Black Flame Dominant Body technique easily overpowered the beast.

Seeing this display of strength, fear flickered in the red eyes of the Fierce Tiger King. He had never imagined that a young human at the Nine-Yuan Nirvana stage could possess such overwhelming power.

Lin Langtian, unfazed by the Tiger King's shock, was about to finish him off when he suddenly sensed an ominous presence. He turned quickly and saw that his companions, Mo Ying and the colossal Heavenly Desolation Bull, had been thrown back from an attack.

Seeing his allies ambushed, Lin Langtian's face grew dark. Hostile intruders, he realized. Yet just as he was about to leap toward them, sharp pain radiated from his leg as the black tiger bit down hard.

A murderous look flashed in Lin Langtian's eyes as he unleashed blazing energy from his armored legs. His right leg, now aflame, shot down like a hammer, stomping into the black tiger with enough force to send cracks tearing through the ground.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

With every blow, deep crevices formed around him, and with one final stomp, he crushed the black tiger's skull. Blood seeped into the ground, creating a grisly scene.

Lin Langtian then seized the Tiger King's remains and unfurled his Crimson Sparrow Wings, hurtling toward the assailants in the distance.

"Oh, a beast puppet made from the Heavenly Desolation Bull? Not bad—I'll be taking it," said a man on the mountain's edge. He was an elder of the Myriad Beast Sect, his eyes glinting with greed as he observed the massive bull.

"Elder Lin Shu, let's make this quick. The treasure in the Tiger King's vault is our real prize," his companion, Elder Luo Gu, remarked with a frown.

"Relax, Elder Luo. With our Great Life Profound Realm strength, no one in the Eastern Profound Domain will challenge us. Nothing's going to go wrong." Elder Lin Shu grinned, gripping his black bone spear tightly as he unleashed a powerful energy wave, hurling the spear toward Mo Ying.

Lin Shu's sharp eye recognized Mo Ying as the puppet's controller, and eliminating him would turn the beast puppet into an easy prize.

Clang!

Mo Ying tried to summon a shield of dark energy, but Lin Shu's spear shattered it within seconds, piercing Mo Ying's chest and forcing him back several meters before he finally collapsed against a stone wall.

Mo Ying let out a pained roar as he stood, his expression as cold and lifeless as ever. With a mechanical precision, he yanked the spear from his chest, his body beginning to heal itself with dark energy.

"Fascinating creature," Lin Shu murmured with a hint of surprise. "It's rare for anyone to survive an attack like that."

"Well, let's see if you'll survive a blow to the head," Lin Shu sneered, summoning another spear and moving in for a lethal strike aimed directly at Mo Ying's head.

Bang!

But just as Lin Shu prepared to strike, a bloody blur shot toward him. He redirected his spear at the incoming object, piercing a black tiger's mangled body. The carcass exploded upon impact, releasing a leg clad in fiery armor that hit Lin Shu squarely, sending him flying back several hundred meters before he finally steadied himself, visibly shaken.

"Not bad, boy," Lin Shu hissed, his eyes narrowing as he looked up at Lin Langtian, a young, sharp-featured figure floating mid-air, his face showing a grim smile.

"Forgive me, master, I couldn't hold them off," Mo Ying said humbly, bowing to Lin Langtian.

Lin Langtian nodded, his gaze settling on Lin Shu with a hard glint. "Leave it to me from here," he replied, his voice laced with anger.

Lin Shu, a Great Life Profound expert, was indeed beyond Mo Ying's capabilities. The fierce clash had drained him considerably; had he been human, the previous blow would likely have been fatal.

Turning to face Lin Shu, Lin Langtian's expression grew darker as he demanded, "Who are you? Think you can attack my people without consequence?"

Lin Shu chuckled, shaking his head. "Quite the tone, boy. It's been ages since anyone dared to speak to me this way."

"Let me tell you, I'm Elder Lin Shu of the Myriad Beast Sect! Now that you know my name, let's see if you'll still dare to be so arrogant."

At Lin Langtian's bold challenge, Elder Lin Shu's face twisted with a mocking smile. In the Western Profound Region, the Myriad Beast Sect held a position as respected as that of Yuan Gate or Dao Sect in the Eastern Profound Region, with a reputation that extended across the entire continent. As a senior Elder, Lin Shu was accustomed to receiving deference, not insolence, so Lin Langtian's challenge made his expression turn dark.

Lin Langtian, however, remained unfazed, though his eyes grew colder. Hearing the name "Myriad Beast Sect" surprised him. He knew the sect's reputation in the Western Profound Region and that they ranked among the top, similar to Yuan Gate in the Eastern Profound Region. Still, he hadn't expected them to send two Life Profound Realm elders to intervene in this matter.

"So, you're with the Myriad Beast Sect," he replied icily. "Well, I am Lin Langtian, Spirit General of the Fire Division at Yuan Gate. Are you here to oppose Yuan Gate?"

Lin Langtian did not hesitate to pull the Yuan Gate card. As the leading power of the Eastern Profound Region, Yuan Gate was more than just a name. Even the Myriad Beast Sect's strength was inferior to Yuan Gate's, and the reputations of Yuan Gate's three Grandmasters were known continent-wide.

"Yuan Gate's Lin Langtian? The same Lin Langtian who defeated Yuan Cang, the most gifted of the Three Young Kings?" Lin Shu's face flickered with a hint of surprise. Recognizing the name, he narrowed his gaze on Lin Langtian. The news of Lin Langtian's victory over Yuan Cang—a talent once touted as the strongest in the Eastern Profound Region—had indeed spread far and wide.

"No wonder you're so confident," Lin Shu murmured thoughtfully. Yuan Gate's reach was powerful, and even the Myriad Beast Sect dared not provoke them lightly. But backing down because of one mere Yuan Gate youth? Never.

"Since you know who I am," Lin Langtian said, his expression relaxing into a faint smile, "you'd better leave Fierce Tiger Mountain at once."

Lin Langtian's calm arrogance made Elder Luo Gu, Lin Shu's companion, smirk coldly. "Kid, if a senior from your sect was here, perhaps we'd give way. But for a mere junior like you? Don't think your little talent gives you the right to speak down to us!"

The treasures in Fierce Tiger Mountain's vaults were worth far too much to leave behind. They hadn't come all this way to be scared off by a junior from Yuan Gate. Lin Shu nodded in agreement, his gaze hardening as he regarded Lin Langtian.

"Foolish boy. The world doesn't belong to the young yet," Lin Shu sneered. "Today, you'll learn your place."

Just then, Gold Crow appeared, throwing down two severed heads—the lieutenants of the Fierce Tiger King—and raised a brow at the two elders in beast-hide robes. Though he did not recognize them, their menacing aura and the immense pressure they exuded made it clear they were no ordinary opponents.

"These two are with the Myriad Beast Sect," Lin Langtian informed him. Gold Crow's expression hardened. His travels with Elder Wu Xuan had expanded his horizons, and he knew very well that the Myriad Beast Sect was one of the Western Profound Region's most powerful factions. Could it be that even they were after the treasures in Fierce Tiger Mountain?

"Leave within three seconds," Elder Luo Gu said sharply, his tone laced with menace. "Otherwise, we'll show you no respect, not even for Yuan Gate's Grandmasters."

Seeing that mentioning Yuan Gate hadn't scared them off, Lin Langtian sneered in response. "You, too, have three seconds to leave, or I'll show you the same lack of respect."

Luo Gu's face darkened with anger. "You think a little talent makes you invincible? Today, I'll show you what the Life Profound Realm truly means." Turning to Lin Shu, he said, "Let's get this over with. One each—quickly, before Yuan Gate's forces catch on."

"Gladly." Lin Shu's sinister gaze fixed on Lin Langtian. "I'll handle him. No matter his reputation in the Eastern Profound Region, to us, he's still just an overconfident child."

"And I'll take care of the other one," Luo Gu sneered, springing toward Gold Crow.

"Gold Crow, be careful!" Lin Langtian shouted, his voice tense.

The sky trembled as a massive ice mountain formed above Gold Crow's head, plummeting down toward Elder Luo Gu. Luo Gu met it with a punch, shattering it to pieces in a blast of energy. "Well, well, a Nirvana Realm beast. But you're just another high-bloodline beast who's angered the wrong sect. Today, you'll die alongside Lin Langtian."

"Hmph, and when did the old dogs of Myriad Beast Sect become so arrogant?" sneered a cold voice from above. The unexpected interruption made both elders look up, their faces paling as they saw a figure materialize, an old man in a green robe exuding a thick, toxic aura.

The appearance of this elder changed the atmosphere instantly, filling Lin Langtian with relief as he recognized him. With a slight smile, he said, "Elder Dugu, you've finally arrived."
