Pence looked through the office window and saw the helicopter taking off from the rooftop helipad.
Wei Tianyang was to board it to the Army base and then transfer to an Air Force cargo plane headed for North Carolosna.
Even though a direct flight might take him less than half an hour to reach the destination, he still chose to travel by plane at a leisurely pace.
Pence did not know why Wei Tianyang decided so, but he found it quite abnormal.
He took out his phone and called Commander Lu.
"He's already on his way, will arrive in 6 hours," Pence said.
"6 hours? He's not flying directly?" Commander Lu asked.
"He has his reasons, perhaps. Can you arrange someone to follow him? That can be done, right?" Pence said.
"It's likely that person won't survive," Commander Lu replied.
"We need to be sure about what he's really planning. Honestly, I'm not certain whether we and he are still allies," Pence said.
