Elric doesn't have a sister.
He only has a younger brother, far too young to enroll in any academy. So… who is she?
As far as I remember, there wasn't anyone like her in the novel. Unless her existence was so insignificant that she was never even mentioned. A cousin, maybe? A distant relative? But those physical traits — silver hair and blood-red eyes — belong exclusively to the Silvaris main bloodline.
In the blink of an eye, dozens of theories and ideas swirled through my mind as I observed her from the corner of my eye. The girl with silver hair and crimson-red eyes.
She was undeniably beautiful.
Breaking the silence at last, I spoke up:
"Looking for something?"
She flinched slightly, as if not expecting me to address her, then turned her head toward me. Her blood-red eyes locked onto mine, and for a brief moment, I noticed a flicker of hesitation in her gaze.
"Ah, yeah, um… not exactly." She seemed to struggle with her words, nervously fiddling with a strand of her silver hair.
"Actually, I just arrived, a bit later than the other students. I had some things to take care of before coming here."
She gave a slightly awkward smile before continuing.
"They told me my dorm was somewhere in this area, but… with all these buildings, I feel like I've been going in circles for ages. You know, the campus is huge, and the maps… well, let's just say I'm not the best at reading them."
"The first-year dorms are scattered across the campus, that's true," I replied.
"But there are several in this area, so you're probably in the right place. You should double-check your assignment."
"Ah, you think so?" She let out a relieved sigh and nodded, seemingly reassured by my response.
"Thanks! I was starting to wonder if I'd end up sleeping outside at this rate!"
I watched her for a moment, intrigued. She seemed so carefree, as if this was just a minor inconvenience, while her presence here raised far more questions than answers.
"By the way, what's your name?" I finally asked.
"Oh, sorry! I'm Kaera… Kaera Silvaris."
My mind went blank.
Silvaris.
I kept my expression neutral, but inside, a storm of thoughts erupted.
'Silvaris? She's from the main bloodline? Then why was she never mentioned? How is that possible?'
"Silvaris, huh?" I repeated calmly, as though testing the weight of the word. "Are you related to Elric Silvaris?"
She nodded with a slight smile.
"Yeah, he's my big brother."
Big brother?
'Impossible. Nothing in the story mentioned Elric having a younger sister. A detail like that wouldn't have been overlooked.'
"I see."
I pretended to accept the information, but my mind continued racing.
"And you?" she asked lightly, her tone curious. "You haven't told me your name."
I looked at her for a moment, weighing my options.
'Should I lie? No, there's no point. Everyone here knows my name — or at least my family's and she will know it sooner or later. Might as well be honest.'
I straightened slightly before answering.
"Noah. Noah Arryn."
I expected her expression to change, maybe for a hint of disdain or scorn to flicker in her eyes.
Instead, Kaera frowned slightly, as if analyzing what I'd just said, then shrugged lightly with a calmness that caught me off guard.
"Ah, Arryn," she murmured, as though tasting the name. Then, to my surprise, she looked back at me and added:
"You know, whatever your family did to mine in the past…"
She paused, seemingly searching for the right words before declaring:
"Whatever your family did… it doesn't define you. You were just a kid back then. I'm not going to judge you for it."
I stared at her, unable to hide my surprise.
'Really? That's nice and all, but in the story, you guys were the assholes.'
"I see."
I simply replied, turning my gaze slightly away to mask my thoughts.
Kaera didn't seem to notice my discomfort. She smiled absentmindedly, as if none of this was particularly important. She toyed with a strand of her silver hair while using her ring to check her dorm assignment.
"Well, thanks for your help, Noah!" she said cheerfully before turning on her heels.
Kaera and I walked side by side in silence, and without a word, we both reached the building entrance at the same time.
'So, she's assigned here…'
Kaera followed me without complaint, still wearing that slightly distracted expression. We stepped into the elevator together, and the doors closed with a soft thud.
The silence in the cabin immediately grew heavy. Not a word was exchanged, but I could feel her presence right next to me, her faint floral scent lingering in the air.
'This is a bit awkward.'
The elevator ascended slowly. I stared at the changing numbers, silently wishing the ride would end soon.
Kaera took a deep breath, as if she wanted to say something, but quickly changed her mind.
The doors opened. I stepped out first, still silent, with Kaera trailing behind me.
'Same floor…?'
My unease grew as I noticed her continuing to walk alongside me. When I reached my door, I stopped, ready to enter, only to see her also stop… right in front of the door next to mine.
She checked her hologram again before looking up, slightly confused.
I frowned slightly, intrigued.
"Don't tell me…" I muttered.
Kaera glanced up at me, seemingly lost, before looking back at her hologram and then at the number on the door in front of her.
"Oh!" she exclaimed suddenly, her face lighting up with a satisfied smile. "We're neighbors!"
I froze for a moment, unable to hide my consternation.
"Great…" I murmured flatly, trying to maintain my composure.
Kaera, however, seemed thrilled. She shot me a bright smile before joking lightly:
"This must be fate!"
Without waiting for a response, she opened her door and stepped into her dorm, leaving me alone in the hallway.
"..."
I stood there for a few seconds, staring at the door next to mine, before finally deciding to head inside.
Once inside, I let out a heavy sigh.
'Kaera Silvaris…'
I raised my hand and activated my ring. A soft blue light projected an interface in front of me. Without wasting a moment, I opened the search function and typed in her name.
As soon as I confirmed, an avalanche of articles and results filled the holographic display.
[Kaera Silvaris: A Threat to Her Brother's Claim to the Heir's Title?]
[Kaera Silvaris Joins Her Brother at Eloria Academy!]
[What You Need to Know About Kaera Silvaris, the One Who Awakened an Ethereal-Rank Potential!]
I skimmed through the titles, a mixture of curiosity and unease settling within me.
"Shit…" I muttered as I took in the overwhelming amount of information.
It was clear: Kaera Silvaris was a new variable, completely absent from the original story.
But what did this mean?
I sat on the edge of my bed, contemplating everything I'd just discovered. At first glance, she seemed extraordinarily talented— even for someone from House Silvaris. Awakening an Ethereal-Rank potential was no small feat.
To my knowledge, only four students at the academy had such a potential: Liam, Maelis, the Student Council president, and myself. Even Elric Silvaris, a true genius, 'only' had a Mythic- Rank potential.
'If new variables like her keep popping up, things are going to get messy...'
I sighed and deactivated the hologram before heading to the bathroom for a quick shower.
'I didn't even think to ask her which class she's in…'
Once I was clean, I collapsed onto my bed, exhausted. Too many questions, not enough answers.
'I'll deal with it tomorrow.'
