Chapter 115 - Encountering The Black Viper

"7-Adam-13…report! What is happening over there? What is the cause of the 415" the Sergeant asked again loudly into his radio but was only met with static. After trying again a few times, he finally received a reply.

"7-Adam-13 reporting! You are not going to believe this Sarge. It's a snake…a fucking…big ass snake!" the officers reported in a panic as they tried reversing away from the oncoming danger. In the process of reversing, they hit a parked car and flipped onto their side.

"7-Adam-11…get them out of there now. 7-Adam-6 and 7-Adam-15…confirm their report. Find out what they are talking about", the Sergeant commanded to the other officers present. "Yes sir!!" they responded before heading on foot to fulfil their assigned tasks.

Halfway to the crash site of the squad car, a shadow suddenly loomed at the top of the hill. Everybody turned towards the shadow only to have their blood frozen.

A black snake the size of a building reared its head at the top of the hill; given a loud blood curdling roar like screech.

"Holy shit!! The fuck is that?!" the Sergeant shouted questioningly in panic as he reached for his radio once again.

"Dispatch…we need you to send reinforcements…as many as you can. There is a huge ass monster tearing through the city. You know what…send everyone to my location now! For fuck's sake…we need the military and the national guard here to help contain this creature!" he shouted into the radio.

The crowd fled in fear and panic as back up quickly arrived. The police quickly armed themselves and opened fire on the creature; trying to take it out quickly.

As the panic continued, Theo turned to search for Samuel but he could not find him in the chaos. Unable to find him, Theo found Ava and helped her escape the situation.

.......

Felix successfully tracked down the black viper to Sienna Metropolis. He felt a guilty pang in his heart as he witnessed all the destruction caused by the snake's wake. Reaching the snake's current location, he was in awe at its size.

Several hundred patrol men and special Opps were attacking from multiple angles trying to kill the monster snake. "They need to stop firing at it", he mumbled to himself as he maneuvered towards the officers in the rear.

Felix parked the helicopter in the middle of the street behind the officers and rushed to find out who was in charge; the native villagers running behind him.

When the officers close to the Sergeant saw the strange-looking people approaching them, they stepped forward to halt them.

"Please stop! This is a high combat zone. Private civilians are not permitted to come close. You need to leave here for your own safety", one of the officers advised.

"I need to speak with whoever is in charge here. I have information on that snake", Felix said to the officer who was stunned into silence.

The officer quickly turned and rushed to whisper in the Sergeant's ears. The Sergeant reacted in surprise before turning and walking towards Felix and his entourage.

When he got closer, he first eyed the tall red-skinned warrior-like men standing behind the man before looking directly at Felix.

"I'm Sergeant Richards. My men tell me that you have information on this creature", the Sergeant asked as he pointed his thumb behind him towards the monster in the distance. Felix nodded as he led the Sergeant a few steps away.

When they were out of earshot, Felix proceeded to introduce himself and his compatriots. He quickly explained everything from the birth of the snake to the accident that resulted in its current appearance. He ended the explanation by requesting that they stopped firing and pull back.

As expected, Sergeant Richards found it difficult to believe his words but the monstrous creature screeching and killing his men behind him begged to differ. He took in a deep breath to calm his fraying nerves.

"So…you are saying…that giant abomination of a monster is an experiment gone wrong…and even though it's currently attacking the city…you want us to stop attacking and pull back", the sergeant asked skeptically.

"That's exactly what I am saying. You need to pull them back before it truly decided to fight back", Felix replied in a serious tone.

"You moron! Do you expect us to allow that monster to run free in the city? Do you know how many people have died…how many people are going to die? I should have you locked up just for birthing it but here you are suggesting something so outrageous!" the Sergeant shouted in frustration.

Before Felix could rebut the statement from the sergeant, a loud commotion caught their attention and they turned towards the battle field. The snake had lifted its head high ready to take action.

"It's about to spit a highly corrosive venom. Anyone it touches will die instantly. Pull your men back now!!!" Felix shouted to the stunned sergeant who quickly realized the voracity of what was about to happen and quickly reached for his radio.

"Fall back!!! Everyone…fall back and take cover now!!" he shouted into the radio but it was too late. The viper shot out a wave of acid venom that covered the sky above them; aiming to wipe them all out at once.

They all stood still; petrified with fear as the rain of acid came down upon them. As they waited for the pain of melting flesh to permeate their entire beings, the acid was suddenly frozen solid in the air.

They raised their heads to see a winged figure hovering right over their heads.

"Who's this? What is he?" Felix wondered after seeing the creature above him. "Get your men to back off and evacuate the surrounding area!" the figure instructed.

The stunned sergeant recovered quickly and obeyed. He sent the command out for all his men to evacuate the area; setting a perimeter a few miles away.

With his instruction followed, the flying figure turned towards the giant snake and charged at it.
