Chapter 415 - Chapter 416: Conceding Defeat

Alan and Tony immediately shot off in pursuit of Michelle's helicopter. Tony, as if issuing a personal challenge to Emperor, was clearly itching to test something.

Daring to race in front of Emperor, Tony simply wanted to see how his suit's flight speed stacked up against Alan's. Who was faster?

Alan quickly picked up on Tony's little challenge. No wonder there's a saying: _A man remains a boy until his death._ He couldn't help but feel amused, but also a little fired up himself.

The Emperor Armor wasn't going to lose to Tony's Iron Man suit. With a light sweep of his arms, Alan effortlessly surged ahead, overtaking Iron Man without breaking a sweat.

"Jarvis, increase flight speed!" Tony said stubbornly. He wanted to see if he could catch up to Emperor by going full throttle.

But Jarvis' response left him crestfallen.

"Sir, this is already the maximum speed. Any faster and the atmospheric pressure will accelerate your breathing rate, which would be harmful to your heart and eyeballs," Jarvis replied calmly.

Tony wanted to argue but quickly changed his mind. Why waste precious fuel trying to outfly Emperor? It was clear he wasn't going to win that race anyway.

Besides, they were allies on the same battlefield.

From the corner of his eye, Alan noticed Tony dropping back and giving up the chase. Seemed like he had come to terms with the power gap between them. Alan also slowed down. There was no need to keep competing.

Inside the helicopter, Michelle received a warning from the pilot.

"Mr. Michelle, there's an airborne target closing in fast!"

The bodyguards in the cabin snapped to attention, gripping their element guns, ready to sacrifice themselves for the cause at a moment's notice.

"Shake them off! Be ready—if it's Emperor, you _must_ shoot him down!" Michelle's eyes were bloodshot. He was nearly hysterical.

Suddenly, the windows of the helicopter were rapped on—Alan had caught up to their "escape ride."

"Good evening, Michelle," Alan greeted with a pleasant smile, his gaze landing on the wine glass in Michelle's hand. Was this guy seriously drinking right now?

They hadn't even made it back to the Hydra base, and here he was sipping liquor like he was on vacation. His sense of danger was severely lacking.

"It's the Emperor! Hurry, shoot him down!" Michelle shrieked. He hadn't expected it to _really_ be Alan.

But before the bodyguards could react, the helicopter started shaking violently from side to side. It was hard enough just to stay seated, let alone shoot straight.

Alan and Tony had come up with a brilliant plan: over the open sea, see who could dismantle the helicopter fastest.

Tony was already working on the bottom section. Alan wasn't about to fall behind.

He punched through a window, ripped an entire cabin door clean off, and casually tossed it behind him.

"Are you all deaf?! I said shoot the Emp—!" Michelle's shout was cut off as his body suddenly plummeted downward.

"I did alright, didn't I?" Tony's voice called up from below. To prevent Hydra's people from mounting a desperate resistance, the best strategy was to dump them all straight into the ocean.

Alan activated the Green Lantern ring, sending out a soft green glow. Michelle and his guards were instantly wrapped up and bound tightly.

"Don't let your guard down. Hydra agents are like lunatics. Keep an eye on Michelle—he might try to kill himself. That would ruin everything."

By binding and restricting their movements, Alan ensured Michelle and the others wouldn't be able to commit suicide.
