Kyla-El continued to soar through the vast expanse of space, her red cape trailing behind her like a streak of fire across the stars. Since Raven had granted her divinity, Kyla had become more than just a Kryptonian; she was a goddess in her own right. She had fought across many star systems, bringing planets under Raven's rule in mere minutes, their inhabitants either kneeling in submission or being wiped out by her overwhelming power.
With each patch of space conquered, Raven's influence naturally spread as if the universe were a chessboard and the spaces dominated by the winning side represented Raven's influence. The more the Green Lanterns conquered, the more her influence and power grew. Some wandering powerful existences in the universe began to take notice, watching this young upstart to power.
But this will not be the first or last time they see this. Many mortals have acquired and attained divine power and grown in strength to defy the odds. But how long does it last? How long will they enjoy their rule? Even the mighty True Trigon had fallen. Darkseid, a mere avatar of his true power. Hal Jordan attains the full power of the Green Lantern, only for a time. Nothing ever lasted, not even the very universe itself. Any powerful being could decide that fate and make it happen or a chain of events leading to such a distasteful end.
But all of this, Raven knew and wanted to challenge. Taking over and remaining in power would be an interesting lifelong prospect in her immortal life.
Today, Kyla faced a new challenge. The intel she had received indicated that ten planets had joined forces to stand against her and Raven's dominion, combining their armies into a force the likes of which Kyla had never encountered. These planets weren't just full of mortals—they housed gods and demigods, powerful beings who had been waiting for someone like Kyla to challenge their ancient rule.
As Kyla approached the first planet, the sheer magnitude of the army waiting for her became clear. Ships filled the orbit, their weapons aimed directly at her. On the surface, she could see massive battalions of soldiers, tanks, and artillery, all poised to strike. In the distance, towering over the horizon, stood the gods of this world, beings whose power Kyla could feel even from the upper atmosphere.
Clearly, someone was feeding the opposition steady info on Kyla-el's feats for them to be this prepared. That was something she would check if she survives this, she was all powerful but there are too many items and weapons that are divinity defying in the dark universe of DC and Kyla-el's incredible intelligence didn't allow her to just go in laser blasting without first understanding the situation and possibly turning on the heads of her enemies.
But Kyla wasn't afraid. She smirked as her eyes glowed a brilliant red, heat vision crackling just beneath the surface. "Let's see if you can stand against the power of a goddess."
"We are gods and goddesses here!" One of the goddesses retorted, creating a collosal energy avatar of herself to hold Kyla-el in place so the others can coordinate their attacks and also pass their energies through her avatar to grow in power as well.
As the Avatar formed in real time, Kyla-el destroyed it before it could fully form by flying through it at instantaneous speeds, shocking the goddess that created it.
The reason these many gods and goddesses gathered in unison is because their creations, planets, religions and lifeforms that served them have all been taken over by Raven's influence that has spread through each conquered region of space. Only one stronghold remained in that star system, and it was only natural for them to gather in unison.
With a burst of speed, Kyla dove toward the planet's surface, the air around her rippling as she broke through the atmosphere. The enemy forces opened fire, energy beams and missiles filling the sky in a desperate attempt to stop her. But Kyla was faster than their eyes could follow, dodging their attacks with ease as she zeroed in on her first target. She even put up millions of layers of force shields around her body that only looked completely transparent or invisible to a viewer, such that it appeared that Kyla-el was just wearing her dark crop top and mini skirt. This force shield would protect her from physical, energy, blasts, invisible, gas and nano attacks just in case. It was like wearing the lightest but most durable armor ever.
She hit the ground with the force of a comet, her landing creating a shockwave that knocked over the nearest rows of soldiers. Before they could recover, Kyla unleashed her heat vision, sweeping it across the battlefield with precision. Ships exploded in the air, tanks melted into slag, and soldiers were vaporized in an instant. It was pure chaos, and Kyla revelled in it.
The gods, however, were not so easily intimidated. One of them, a towering figure clad in shimmering gold armor, stepped forward. His eyes burned with righteous fury as he raised his hammer high into the sky. "You will not conquer this world, usurper!"
Kyla laughed, floating just above the battlefield as she met his gaze. "I don't need to conquer it. You'll kneel or you'll die."
The god roared in defiance, his warhammer crackling with divine energy as he brought it crashing down toward Kyla. She met his attack head-on, her fist colliding with the hammer in a shockwave that sent tremors through the ground. For a moment, it seemed as though they were evenly matched—but only for a moment.
With a grunt of effort, Kyla pushed forward, shattering the god's weapon with a single, devastating blow.
"That's… impossible. How are you this strong?" The god asked with a look of defeat on his glowing face.
The look of disbelief on his face was priceless, but Kyla didn't give him a chance to recover. Her fist slammed into his chest, sending him crashing through the mountains behind him. He never got up.
But this was just the beginning. More gods appeared, their combined strength forming a formidable force that even Kyla couldn't dismiss so easily. For the first time, she felt the weight of their power pushing against her, testing the limits of her own divinity.
They unleashed attacks that shook the planet to its core—lightning, fire, and storms of energy converging on Kyla. The battle was unfair. The gods wanted to battle her in space where they had lots of weapons trained on her, but she had taken the initiative to battle them on their planet, which they created, turning the tables. This creation was one of the last things not corrupted by Raven's influence in that star system, it was like the last remaining fort in a war.
Unknown to the gods, Kyla-el had read the thoughts of one of the weaker gods who was going through the plan in their head. She gritted her teeth, her aura flaring as she absorbed the impact, but even she could feel the strain of multiple attacks coming from different directions. Slowly but surely, the gods were pushing her off the planet. Still, Kyla wasn't one to give up. With a roar, she unleashed her full power, her heat vision expanding into a wide beam that cut through the sky like a scythe.
Their attacks so far had destroyed hundreds of thousands of Kyla-el's force shields were destroyed. She managed to kill some of them but the fallen gods and goddesses will only get absorbed quickly by the remaining and release even stronger attacks that began tearing apart Kyla-el's defence. The gods and goddesses could feel that they were nearly bringing this curse, this monster, to it's limits, but it seemed like Kyla-el would keep breaking through them, attaining new levels of strength and power.
The gods faltered, but they didn't fall. They regrouped, pooling their energies into a single, massive attack that threatened to overwhelm even Kyla's defences.
And then, a tear in space appeared, and strong divinity leaked out.
From the dark rift stepped Diana, her eyes glowing with divine energy, her sword gleaming in the starlight. She floated above the battlefield, her presence immediately shifting the balance of power. The morale of the enemy forces plummeted at the sight of her—another goddess, this one even more savage than the first.
"Struggling, Kyla?" Diana asked, her voice carrying across the battlefield.
Kyla smirked, wiping a trickle of blood from the corner of her mouth. "Not at all. But a little help is always appreciated."
Diana didn't waste time. She descended upon the battlefield like a storm, her sword flashing in wide arcs as she cut through the enemy forces. Her attacks were relentless, each swing of her blade causing explosions of energy that consumed everything in their path. The gods who had fought so fiercely against Kyla now found themselves on the defensive, struggling to keep up with Diana's savage onslaught.
"Fuck this!" A god cursed and dove into an escape portal of his making only for the dimension he escaped into to be destroyed by a single slash from Diana's sword that cut through space even after his portal closed right on time. This, this was the morale of the opposition tanked.
Kyla-el was giving them something to believe in, giving them a decent fight. But here came the Amazon goddess, her entrance, epic and disheartening, her first kill, EPIC AND DISHEARTNING!
Diana's attacks were vicious and precise, her sword carving through the enemy forces with ease. One of the gods tried to block her path, raising a shield of pure energy, but Diana merely laughed as she shattered it with a single blow. Her sword swung in a wide arc, slicing through not just the god in front of her but the mountains behind him. The force of her attack sent shockwaves across the battlefield, levelling entire sections of the planet.
The only reason the opposing gods were still surviving Diana's attacks was thanks to a rather young god that looked like a humanoid elephant who was specialized in space time arts. He could at least defy Diana's attacks that bypassed durability and space. But even he was getting scared for his life. His planet was the last one remaining unsullied in the star system, and he couldn't leave it behind now.
Meanwhile, Kyla-El unleashed her heat vision, but this time, she focused it into a wide, sweeping beam that incinerated everything in its path. The enemy ships in orbit disintegrated under the intensity of her attack, and the remaining soldiers on the ground were reduced to ash.
The gods tried to regroup, but it was too late. Diana and Kyla were unstoppable, their combined power more than enough to bring this planetary coalition to its knees. The ground beneath them shook as Diana unleashed a wide-area attack, an explosion of divine energy that spread out in all directions, consuming everything in its path.
The gods fell one by one, their divinity no match for the overwhelming power of Raven's champions.
The last to fall was the elephant god who looked at Diana with a disgusted look and disintegrated himself, not giving Diana the satisfaction of killing him.
"FUCK!" Diana screamed. It was as if he knew what would annoy someone with a warrior's heart like Diana the most on the battlefield. He was strongest there, and the satisfaction of deleting him was taken, and she even wanted to offer him a place in Raven's empire, only to lose out on this growing talent.
In the end, the battlefield was silent. The planet was theirs, and the gods who had once ruled over it were nothing more than dust in the wind. Kyla landed beside Diana, her eyes glowing with satisfaction.
"They thought they could stop us," Kyla said, her voice dripping with amusement. "They didn't stand a chance."
Diana smirked, wiping the blood from her blade. "Let them serve as an example to the rest of the universe. No one defies Raven and lives."
As the two goddesses stood amidst the ruins of their victory, Raven's voice echoed through their minds, her presence as commanding as ever.
"Well done, my warriors. The universe will soon be ours."
With that, Kyla and Diana turned their gaze toward the stars. There were still many more worlds to conquer, and Raven's influence would soon stretch across the entire cosmos. Nothing could stand in their way.
Had a writer's block on the Raven fic, but I am getting some ideas to make more chapters.
