Lu Yichen and Zhong Niangyao stepped onto the stage.
Old Sir Zhong introduced Lu Yichen and Zhong Niangyao to the audience below and, after delivering a spirited speech, in the midst of everyone's blessings, took Zhong Niangyao's hand and placed it into Lu Yichen's.
It should have been Zhong Mingxin, as the father, to perform this act. However, it could almost be said that Zhong Niangyao was raised by Old Sir Zhong and Old Madam Zhong, and now that she was getting married, the ones who found it hardest to part with her were them. Therefore, Old Sir Zhong directly took over this role.
As for Zhong Mingxin, although he regretted not having been able to hand over his daughter to Lu Yichen himself, he also understood his own father's affection and protective instinct toward his granddaughter, and so, he said nothing. Of course, even if he had said anything, it wouldn't have been taken into account.
