The devout old Believer Parker was astonished to hear that the "Primordial Messenger" Mira was leaving.
Of course, he knew that Mira had performed many miracles these past days, but her sudden departure perplexed Parker.
In Parker's view, after Mira's arrival in the city below, something significant should have happened, like the appearance of the Primordial or the announcement of God's will… but none of these occurred. The Primordial Messenger arrived in the Land of No Light without any indication, performed miracles, and then left just as unannounced.
This wasn't even a case of starting with a bang and ending with a whimper; it was nothing but whimper from start to finish.
