According to what he said, the magic moat should be connected to some sort of array mechanism. If someone touches the magic moat, the Elf Guards in charge of the mechanism would know immediately.

The Elf Guard Captain, Eric, did not deny it and continued, "It's alright, just be more cautious in the future. Even the Mana Floating Dragons dare not drink from the river after nightfall."
Su Muyu offered an awkward smile and said, "No wonder they gathered around to drink."
Eric glanced at the several Mana Floating Dragons and noted, "These little creatures are quite smart. You shouldn't indulge them, otherwise they will hover around you asking for food."
"Such interesting little animals." Su Muyu's interest in the Mana Floating Dragons grew as she watched them.
These creatures had translucent bodies and looked like flying eels, very beautiful.
