Chapter 25: The Comiket -2
___________________________________________________________________
- Silas -
I looked at everyone talking happily about the Comiket and my eyes couldn't help but twitch at the sight of three figures in the group.
I had left the venue of the Comiket as soon as the performance was over, quickly sneaking over at an alley and changing back.
That was the most embarrassing moment of my life but one thing was beyond doubt.
That… was a very elaborate prank.
I couldn't figure out anything.
Rimuru, Ainz and Saitama… well played… seriously well played.
Then Ainz went and said that it was for my own good so that I wouldn't fall for some more dangerous schemes like these in the future.
The sheer gall of that bastard.
I could have ended the contract with my Chef Skill if I had cut the parchment with it before the spell was used.
But Rimuru had calculated that too and had stored that contract into his… stomach maybe? I didn't know much about Slime physiology except that they didn't have a…
Cough cough…
But now it's my turn.
I will have my revenge.
"Sil-kun, where did you go? We couldn't find you when we were coming back." Lavy asked me as she came to my side.
"I… wasn't feeling well and decided to return by myself."
"Oh, are you sick? Did you take medicine?"
…Could Archdaemons even get sick?
Who knows?
"No, it's fine. I just needed some rest." I smiled.
"Ah… It must be one of those days." Suddenly I heard Rimuru's voice who had that smug smile on his face.
…
I merely gave him a deadpan look but I knew they would not be stopping anytime soon so I did the best thing which came to my mind to stop them for now.
I pulled Lavy into my arms.
"Sil-kun!" She asked in surprise but didn't pull back.
Rimuru in the meanwhile froze in between whatever he was saying.
"Hmm."
"What are you doing?"
"Taking my medicine." I replied while giving a smug smile to Rimuru.
"Oh! You want hugs? Okay." As usual, taking everything in a stride, Lavy hugged me back tightly, pulling my face into her breasts.
Rimuru, finally not being able to take this direct assault to his forty year old virgin self, clicked his tongue and left me alone.
That gave me some free time from their teasing and I stayed like that for a while.
"So, did you guys have fun at the Comiket?" I asked Lavy as we sat together in the corner of the Restaurant and watched them talk about everything excitedly.
Tohru and Milim were hyped.
Naruto looked like a kid on a sugar high… because he actually was…
I heard he went around tasting every ice cream he could find in the venue with Kanna when Miu wasn't watching.
Then Miu had to track them down and keep them in check.
Seriously, I aspire to have even half the patience of Miu. That girl… she is a saint.
Fafnir was sitting in another corner of the Restaurant with Kazuma with a pile of goods as tall as both of them combined, checking everything.
I was pretty sure, if there was an earthquake… or a fucking tsunami here, they wouldn't even move. Then again… I doubt an earthquake or tsunami could do anything to the Restaurant so…
Rimuru, Saitama and Ainz also had done a nice bit of shopping too.
"Oh we had a lot of fun. Everyone was lining up at the shop to buy our manga. We sold off all our stock before the afternoon break which was totally unexpected because that was our entire stock for all three days. Then Rimuru-san and Ainz-san made two such stocks and we sold them all again. Now Yuri-chan and Tanya-chan are making sure we don't lack stock for tomorrow."
"Heh… I didn't know the manga was that popular." That was just crazy since I knew how much stock we were carrying there today.
"Oh yes. It was good first but then suddenly the crowd increased. I heard something about a singer or something. Maybe they liked the band performance of Yuri-chan and the others and were attracted by that? Ah… too bad I missed their performance. I should have taken some time off to check the show too."
…my lips twitched at the words but I didn't say anything and changed the subject.
"Oh, who else was there at the shop with you back then?"
"Hmm, Sakura-chan, Shuna-chan, Orihime-chan and Miu-chan. Rimuru-san and Ainz-san said something about youthful energy attracting customers faster. Did you watch the show? How was it? I heard Rimuru-san and Ainz-san hired some singer for the performance."
…
…
…
…
I didn't know if I should curse them or thank them for that.
Nah… it was their fault to begin with so fuck them.
"Hmm… the show was… alright, I guess." I shrugged.
"Oh…"
"Don't worry, you didn't miss anything special."
"But… I wanted to hear that too." She pouted.
"Hmm… in that case, I will sing for you." I whispered as I gave her a little peck on her neck, making her perk up.
"Eh, you can sing too, Sil-kun?"
"Well obviously. Why? Do you think I can't?"
"But I have never heard you sing before."
"Maybe because I never got the opportunity." I shrugged.
"Okay then, promise."
"Hmm promise." I nodded. "By the way, what did you girls do after selling manga?"
"Oh we had so much fun. We went around the snacks shop but… they weren't as tasty as the food here so we didn't eat much. We bought some souvenirs. I got something for Va-kun, Brandish-chan and Dimaria-chan too."
We talked about normal things for a while, quietly spending time with each other.
I wanted to stay like that more but unfortunately, we all have to work whether we want to or not.
I had to cook for the day too so I forced myself to let go of Lavy as I cooked dinner for everyone.
I got everything ready in two hours and Sakura-chan and the other girls served everyone. At that time, I was dragged out by Rimuru and Ainz to the room where we played. Saitama was already there, although he looked confused.
"What? What do you guys want now?" I asked suspiciously.
"You have to sing tomorrow."
"Impossible."
"Why?!"
"I am not doing that again."
"Eh… I think you were awesome. Much better than all the female idols today." Saitama said.
"Not helping, Saitama." I replied with my eyes twitching. You didn't have to add that female part…
Rimuru brought out several sheets of paper and threw it on the table in front of me.
I raised an eyebrow and picked up the paper and read the contents.
The sales report for today.
"Yes. What of it? Lavy already told me that you had to restock most of it. Kinda impressive, I agree."
"This happened mostly after your song."
"You have to sing again."
"No way."
"Silas!"
"I said it, no way."
"Don't be hasty, Silas.I know you are embarrassed but… Take your time." Ainz said, backing off but not giving up.
As we were talking, I heard Sakura's voice.
"Silas-san."
"Hmm." All of us stopped and looked at the door.
Sakura and Shuna were standing outside.
"Did I disturb you all? Dinner is served. Would you all like to eat dinner here?"
"Umm, no. We were just done." I shook my head.
"But Silas…"
"I said no." I denied as I walked towards the door.
"Please!"
"No!" I denied again as I walked out of the room and they followed.
"Umm, what are they talking about?" Shuna asked, curious.
"We want Silas to sing at tomorrow's Comiket." Saitama spoke, making me glare at him.
"Eh, Silas-sama can sing?"
"Hmm, Silas-san is a very good singer." Sakura replied. "He was the captain of the Music Club in High School and even had a band with his friends there."
"Wait seriously? Music Club? Not some Cooking Club or Going Home Club?" Rimuru asked, surprised.
"Silas-san's mother was a great fan of songs and he has always been a great singer. I have some of his old recorded songs in my room." Sakura replied, good heartedly.
I was about to intervene but Ainz came forward and put a hand on my shoulder. "Could you please bring those songs for us to see?" He asked. "Maybe we could all hear them during dinner."
"Oi, what are you trying to pull?" I whispered but the guy ignored it.
"What? Boss can sing too?" Tohru asked, her tail moving excitedly. Her dragon hearing had picked up the words and with that, it was as if a floodgate was opened.
Milim, Tohru, even the kids in the Restaurant all started shouting about the songs.
Sakura, meanwhile, was sent by Ainz to get the records.
And thus, fifteen minutes later, I was at the dinner table while Sakura inserted one of the recordings of my school's music club while everyone watched with great interest.
The video started and it took me only a moment to realise which song it was.
Perfect by Ed Sheeran.
Ah, that was a record I had made of the best romantic hits.
The song started and the entire Restaurant fell silent.
One after another, the songs continued while everyone ate in silence while enjoying the songs.
The only one who had time in between to throw me stinky looks was Rimuru who looked like he was torn between cursing me for being a supposed playboy and appreciating the song itself. But even he kept his thoughts to himself.
It was after an hour that the record ended and the crowd in the Restaurant erupted into applause.
"Woah! That was great, Silas."
"Hmm hmm, super awesome."
One by one they started turning towards me.
"See, I told you." Rimuru added, finding the opportunity. "You could totally sing at the Comiket too."
"Oh yeah! I mean today's singer was awesome but you could totally do it too."
"You should do it, Nii-san. I didn't understand what you were singing but it sounded cool." Naruto wished.
"Umm, good."
"Yes, Sil-kun. You should sing."
…
…
…
…
"Alright alright, I get it already. Okay, I will sing. But… I will sing whatever I want and I don't want any interference in that." I said glaring at Rimuru.
"Done. We don't know much about singing either way. So you do you." He shrugged.
"Exactly. We know better to leave things to the experts." Ainz nodded.
I just stared at them for a while but none of them gave any reactions so I let out a sigh and got up. "Okay."
"Yay!"
"Hahahaha great!"
After cheering and playing around for a while longer, they left one by one.
We needed to gather back in the Restaurant early in the morning again and I had to get back earlier to prepare breakfast for everyone so we decided to take an early day off too.
