Chapter 229: Tianxing Academy vs. The Twin Stars of Haotian Sect
Tang Hao and Tang Xiao, hearing the disdain in Niu Gao's words, were instantly infuriated. To them, Haotian Sect's honor was paramount.
Tang Hao shouted, "What do you mean by this? The honor of Haotian Sect is beyond reproach—how dare you insult it!"
Yang Wudi merely sneered, "The great Haotian Sect—reduced to sending thieves to skulk around in the night. You've disgraced your own ancestors' legacy!"
Remaining calmer, Tang Xiao asked, "Yang Wudi, Niu Gao, what exactly are you implying by these accusations? Do you think you can defame Haotian Sect with impunity?"
Yang Wudi gestured to Tang San beside him. "A direct descendant of Haotian Sect sneaks in like a common thief after we've already severed all ties. This is the so-called 'honor' of Haotian Sect?"
Tang Hao looked at Tang San with a pained expression, then turned back, enraged. "Bold words from mere former affiliates! Do you dare speak to me like this?"
At this point, Titan and Bai He arrived and positioned themselves protectively beside Tang San, ready to defend him if necessary. Though they were visibly disconcerted by the accusations, both remained silent.
Seeing Tang San now protected, Tang Hao launched himself forward in fury. "Enough! I'll teach you your place—let you know who's in charge here!"
With that, he summoned his Haotian Hammer, and nine powerful spirit rings appeared around him, including the intimidating red ring that sent waves of pressure through the air.
Yang Wudi, however, was unfazed. "When you can't reason, you resort to force? Typical. You're the same coward who brought ruin upon your sect and then ran to hide, only to reemerge now that your wounds have barely healed. You're a disgrace to all spirit masters."
Yang Wudi, Niu Gao, Yang Zhentian, and Dugu Bo all summoned their martial spirits and spirit rings, undeterred by Tang Hao's imposing aura. When Yang Zhentian revealed his spirit rings, everyone was taken aback—his spirit power had reached an astonishing level of 97, putting him on par with Tang Xiao.
Tang Xiao, growing more serious, summoned his Haotian Hammer as well, with the strength and stature of a 97th-level Titled Douluo.
Yang Potian, for the moment, decided to stay back, observing his family's Titled Douluo members in action. He wanted to assess their strength and see if they were prepared to go all out against Tang Hao and Tang Xiao.
Meanwhile, Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and Xue Qinghe observed the incredible surge of energy from afar, each deep in thought. Xue Qinghe looked to his teacher, saying, "Should we step in?"
Ning Fengzhi shook his head, "This is a Haotian Sect affair, and outsiders like us should steer clear. Involving ourselves would only end badly."
With Tang Hao's initial strike, the battle erupted.
Yang Zhentian clashed with Tang Xiao, both wielding formidable weapons and strength. Their fierce exchange left neither with a clear advantage. Yang Wudi and Niu Gao turned their attention to subduing Tang Hao, the source of all their grievances.
Dugu Bo joined Yang Zhentian, using his control over poison to dominate the battlefield. Poison Douluo's abilities, blending control and toxicity, allowed him to easily affect the area around him, ensuring that he and his allies had the upper hand.
Titan and Bai He, meanwhile, stood ready beside Tang San, wary of Yang Potian, who remained an unpredictable threat. They feared he could dispatch Tang San in a single blow if he decided to strike.
On the battlefield, both sides fought with their full strength. Tang Hao activated his Slaughter Domain, casting a crimson light that intensified the pressure on his opponents. Under the domain's effects, Yang Wudi, Niu Gao, Yang Zhentian, and Dugu Bo all found their spirit power and attack speed reduced.
Tang Hao's Haotian Hammer, glowing blood-red, smashed down with incredible force. Niu Gao responded by summoning his spirit, the Armored Giant Rhinoceros, using his defensive skill "Armor Guard" to counter the blow. His Armored Rhinoceros clashed with the Haotian Hammer, forcing both of them back several steps. Despite his recent recovery from injury, Tang Hao's strength was only at about 60%, leaving him weakened.
Now at level 95, Tang Hao was formidable, but Niu Gao, at level 94 and fully equipped with spirit bones, matched him in strength, especially in defense. The impact of their clash left Tang Hao astounded; it had been a long time since anyone could so effectively counter his attacks.
Yang Wudi seized the opportunity, thrusting his Po Soul Spear with his first spirit skill, "Pierce," a precise, single-target strike with piercing force and lock-on capability. Tang Hao raised his hammer to block, but Yang Wudi's spear still transferred some of the force through, striking Tang Hao and leaving a wound.
The synergy between Niu Gao's defense and Yang Wudi's offense revealed the strengths of their single-attribute clans, allowing them to hold their own even against the fierce attacks of a Haotian Douluo.
Meanwhile, Tang Xiao, dueling Yang Zhentian and Dugu Bo, held a slight advantage. While his strength didn't rival Tang Hao's raw power, Tang Xiao wielded his Haotian Nine Techniques skillfully, maximizing his potential. Known for his formidable battle strategies, he had once held off three Titled Douluos on his own, solidifying his reputation as the epitome of Haotian Sect prowess.
However, Yang Zhentian, undeterred, activated his seventh spirit skill, Weapon Avatar, forcing Tang Xiao to engage in close combat, reducing his Haotian Hammer's long-range tactical advantage. Dugu Bo joined in with his fifth spirit skill, Jade Phosphorus Heavens Array, creating a vast toxic mist that confined Tang Xiao, hindering the Haotian Hammer's maneuverability.
While it was two versus four, Tang Hao and Tang Xiao's sheer power was undeniable. Few spirit masters could match their ferocity in direct combat, and even Yang Zhentian's Po Soul Spear, known for its incredible power, couldn't fully match the Haotian Hammer's legendary might.
Observing the intense fight, all of Tianxing Academy's members gathered to watch, including Yang Tianyue and Yang Ping'an. Even Yang Potian's mother, Niu Jin, emerged to observe the battle firsthand, leaving only Yang Potian's second granduncle, Yang Wushuang, still hidden.
Seeing Niu Gao's words spark such rage in Tang Hao and Tang Xiao, the two Haotian Sect masters were infuriated. To them, the honor of Haotian Sect was something that could never be tarnished.
Tang Hao's face was red with anger. "What do you mean by this? Haotian Sect's honor is beyond question—how dare you insult it?"
Yang Wudi merely laughed coldly. "The great Haotian Sect, reduced to sneaking thieves in the dead of night, and you still dare speak of honor? Your ancestors' legacy is in shambles thanks to you!"
Tang Xiao, who was usually calmer, spoke up. "Yang Wudi, Niu Gao, what are you trying to imply by saying this? Are you mocking Haotian Sect?"
Yang Wudi gestured to Tang San. "Look at your 'honorable' disciple, dressed like a thief in the night! We severed all ties in the daytime, yet by nightfall, you send your sect's scion to infiltrate our academy. Is this the 'honor' you speak of?"
Tang Hao shot a look of pity at Tang San, then glared furiously back at Yang Wudi and shouted, "How dare you! You were once Haotian Sect's subordinate clans. How dare you speak to me like this?"
At that moment, Titan and Bai He arrived and positioned themselves protectively around Tang San, evidently there to shield him if needed. Upon hearing these accusations, they exchanged uncomfortable glances but remained silent.
Seeing that Tang San was now protected, Tang Hao wasted no time in attacking, his rage fueling his power. "You arrogant fools! I'll teach you a lesson on respect!"
He summoned his Haotian Hammer, and nine spirit rings appeared around him, with the blood-red ring casting a powerful aura over all present.
Yang Wudi sneered in response. "Resorting to brute force? This is the same cowardice that led Haotian Sect to ruin, and when things turned grim, you went into hiding. Now, with a little strength regained, you show your true arrogance. You're a disgrace to the world of spirit masters!"
With these words, Yang Wudi, Niu Gao, Yang Zhentian, and Dugu Bo summoned their own martial spirits and spirit rings, undeterred by Tang Hao's fierce display. When Yang Zhentian's spirit rings appeared, the others were astonished—his spirit power had reached level 97, matching Tang Xiao's.
Tang Xiao, now realizing the gravity of the battle, summoned his own Haotian Hammer with all nine of his spirit rings, joining the fray as a formidable 97th-level Titled Douluo.
Meanwhile, Yang Potian held back, choosing to assess his family's combat prowess and observing whether they were prepared to go all out against Tang Hao and Tang Xiao.
From afar, Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and Xue Qinghe observed the intense energy fluctuations. Xue Qinghe's expression turned serious as he looked to his teacher. "Should we intervene?"
Ning Fengzhi shook his head. "Qinghe, this is a Haotian Sect matter. We're outsiders here, and it's best not to get involved; taking sides here would only cause more trouble."
With Tang Hao's initial attack, the battle erupted.
Yang Zhentian immediately clashed with Tang Xiao, both wielding tremendous weapons and raw power. Their exchange was intense, with neither side gaining a clear advantage. Meanwhile, Yang Wudi and Niu Gao charged at Tang Hao, aiming to subdue the man who was the source of their grievances.
Dugu Bo joined Yang Zhentian in controlling the battlefield with his venomous abilities, using his skill with poison to manipulate the area and support his allies' offense.
Titan and Bai He stayed beside Tang San, wary of Yang Potian, whose potential actions they feared. They knew that, if Yang Potian attacked, Tang San could easily be overwhelmed.
Despite the numbers, Tang Hao and Tang Xiao's combined strength was astounding. In a flurry of red light, Tang Hao activated his Slaughter Domain, boosting his power and spreading a menacing aura over his opponents, reducing their spirit power and slowing their movements.
Tang Hao's Haotian Hammer, glowing an ominous red, came crashing down with incredible force. Niu Gao responded by summoning his Armored Giant Rhinoceros, activating his fourth spirit skill, Armor Guard, summoning a massive projection of his spirit that clashed directly with Tang Hao's hammer. Both were forced back by the impact.
Although Tang Hao's power was impressive, his recent injuries and his hammer's exhausting weight put him at a disadvantage.
Yang Wudi took advantage of the opening, thrusting his Po Soul Spear forward and activating his first spirit skill, Pierce, a precision skill with immense penetrating power. Tang Hao blocked with his hammer, but the spear's energy transmitted through, striking him and leaving a bloody wound.
Realizing he was underestimating the strength of Niu Gao and Yang Wudi, Tang Hao summoned his Haotian Hammer's full might, unleashing his Sky-Piercing Strike. In an intense red flash, the move's devastating power enveloped the four Tianxing Academy members within his Slaughter Domain's range.
Seeing this, Niu Gao activated his Armor Guard and transformed into his full battle form, summoning his ninth spirit skill, Infinite Armor. A thick defensive shield took shape around his Armored Rhinoceros, bracing to withstand Tang Hao's attack.
Yang Wudi unleashed his own martial spirit true form to face Tang Hao's overwhelming strength. Meanwhile, Yang Zhentian and Dugu Bo also summoned their full power to resist the incoming attack.
Tang Xiao took advantage of the distraction and swung his massive Haotian Hammer at the four. This perfectly coordinated attack demonstrated the seamless bond between the Twin Stars of Haotian Sect, brothers whose lifelong bond forged an impenetrable synergy.
However, in an unexpected turn, a sudden figure flickered through the air, and a large crater appeared on the ground. Strangely, the four members of Tianxing Academy found themselves transported to an empty area, leaving them confused.
This was Yang Potian's right leg spirit bone skill, Spatial Displacement. Using its unique properties, he transported the four away from the attack's range, sparing them from potential severe injuries.
Yang Wudi growled, "Potian! What are you doing? We were ready to fight to the death to make these two pay!"
Yang Potian shook his head calmly. "Grandfather, you've fought well. Let me have a turn. After all, as a member of Tianxing Academy, it's only fair I contribute to this fight."
The four men still looked aggrieved, but Yang Potian continued, "Don't worry. I'll make sure they pay for their arrogance."
Meanwhile, Tang Hao and Tang Xiao, back on the ground, prepared to continue their attack. Both brothers, still furious, were disappointed their move hadn't hit its mark.
Yang Potian glanced at the brothers, his expression calm. "I won't take advantage of numbers here. If the two of you can defeat me, then we'll end this here and now. If not, then you'll be staying right where you are."
