"Tricking us?"

"Dammit! We're finished!"

Su Shiyi's breath caught, and his heart sank to the bottom.

He couldn't figure out when he had been tricked, but he knew now wasn't the time to dwell on it.

Fortunately, it was still a defensive talisman. Without wasting time, he quickly channeled his true essence into it.

In the next second, the ground trembled as the earth and stones shifted, forming a defensive shield.

At the same time, he pushed off the ground with his toes, using the Shadowless Step combined with the Wind Calling Technique to pull himself backward and upward.

As he retreated, he threw out three more defensive talismans just in case.

Four talismans in total, forming four overlapping defensive shields made of earth and stone.

Even so, Su Shiyi didn't feel entirely secure. Just as he was about to throw out more talismans…

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

In the blink of an eye, two streaks of sword light flashed past.

The four defensive shields, made of earth and stone, were as fragile as paper against the sword light. The sword light easily passed through them, striking Su Shiyi directly.

"Hiss..."

The sword light grazed his chest, leaving a shallow cross-shaped wound.

Blood began to flow from the wound, and the pain made Su Shiyi suck in a cold breath.

I let my guard down! A Fifth-Stage Qi Refining cultivator really isn't easy to deal with!

If it weren't for the four talismans absorbing most of the attack, he would have been torn apart by the two sword lights.

Su Shiyi regained his composure, using the wind to land on a towering tree. He quickly took out three small healing pills, crushed them, and sprinkled them on his wound.

The small healing pills were a type of medicinal herb for healing wounds, which could be used both internally and externally.

At that moment, through the smoke and flames, the young man in the gauze headband stepped out. A faint blood-red aura surrounded his body, and his face and body were covered with scratches and burn marks from shattered porcelain bottles.

He held a white-smoke-colored two-foot sword in his hand, exhaling a breath of turbid air and cursing in his heart: This damn bastard, he's so treacherous! If I hadn't cultivated the Blood Light Shield the other day, I would have been half dead by now!

He glared at Su Shiyi, his face twisted with rage.

"Very well! Looks like you didn't hold back on the talismans! Let me see how many more talismans you have!"

"Wind Slash!"

The young man in the gauze headband smirked cruelly, pouring his true essence into his sword. With a swipe, four sword lights flew out, crossing each other to form a grid, exuding an overwhelming force.

Four sword lights? Is he cheating?!

Su Shiyi couldn't help but gasp in surprise. He knew these four sword lights were no small threat. He absolutely couldn't afford to be hit again.

As the four sword lights rushed toward him, he took a deep breath and leaped into the air.

A gust of wind appeared, carrying him higher into the sky.

Suddenly, the sword lights slashed through the air. The towering tree, over ten meters tall, was cleaved into pieces by one sword strike.

In mid-air, Su Shiyi's heart nearly skipped a beat.

"Is this the attack method of a sword cultivator? It's terrifying, and it doesn't seem to be affected by the Wind Calling Technique or any other technique?!"

"This isn't good. Simply dodging won't work. I don't have many defensive talismans left, and using my techniques like this consumes too much true essence!"

"I have to end this quickly!"

After hesitating for a moment, Su Shiyi's gaze hardened. He hid all the attack talismans in his sleeve and, with the wind at his back, dove toward the young man.

In the air, he constantly changed his position using the wind, not giving his opponent a chance to strike. In a flash, he appeared right in front of the young man.

"Eight Extremes Mountain Crushing!"

As he closed the distance, he shouted and activated the Eight Trigrams Eight Extremes Fist, bringing it down from the sky toward his opponent.

"A martial artist's move? You're too arrogant! You really think I don't know what you're planning? You think those worthless talismans can break my Blood Light Shield? If you dare approach me, you'll go straight to the Yellow Springs!"

The young man in the gauze headband sneered as Su Shiyi advanced, drawing his sword and easily seeing through his intentions.

At this close range, he didn't believe Su Shiyi could dodge in time.

As for the so-called talisman attacks, even if they could break his Blood Light Shield, he was confident he could resist them.

"Swish!"

But at the moment of contact, Su Shiyi didn't throw any more attack talismans. Instead, a one-foot sword appeared in his hand.

It was the White Mist Sword he had obtained four years ago, hidden in his sword pouch.

"So, you've been hiding a flying sword? What a shame, do you think you stand a chance against a sword cultivator?" The young man in the gauze headband was taken aback at first, then burst into laughter.

As a sword cultivator, he was confident in his swordsmanship. What's more, his cultivation was stronger than Su Shiyi's.

However, just to be cautious, he had applied a few defensive talismans to his body.

He swung his sword lightly, creating a flourish in the air, and with a single sweep, the sound of metal clashing rang out as he effortlessly blocked Su Shiyi's strike.

Seeing this, he relaxed. This had been blocked so easily, Su Shiyi's swordsmanship was clearly trash. It looked like the kid was out of tricks.

With this thought, the young man immediately poured his true essence into his sword, preparing to end this with one final blow.

But just then, with a loud "crack," his sword shattered.

His true essence had nowhere to go.

"What? You... you're using a superior-grade magic weapon?! How is this possible..."

The young man finally realized what had happened. His heart trembled, and he shouted in shock. Before he could finish speaking, he realized something was wrong. He quickly tried to retreat.

But Su Shiyi's sword didn't show any mercy. As he severed the opponent's flying sword, he followed through with another strike.

Unlike his opponent's refined swordplay, Su Shiyi had been waiting for this moment.

Even with the young man's Blood Light Shield, it couldn't hold up against a superior-grade magic weapon.

The sword light flashed, and blood sprayed into the air. The young man's arm was severed and sent flying.

"Poof! Ah~~~"

The young man collapsed in a pool of blood, letting out a painful scream.

At this moment, he was filled with immense regret!

Had he known that Su Shiyi had a superior-grade magic weapon, he would never have allowed him to get close.

What had been a huge advantage had been reversed in an instant. With his arm severed, his injuries were grave, and his combat ability was greatly diminished.

On the other hand, Su Shiyi, having landed a successful strike, didn't hesitate for a second. He quickly summoned his true essence and infused it into the White Mist Sword.

The White Mist Sword shivered slightly, glowing brightly. A sharp sword light shot out, aiming straight for the young man's neck.

Though he had heavily wounded his opponent, Su Shiyi wasn't careless. This was a Fifth-Stage Qi Refining cultivator, and who knew what other tricks he might have left?

Since nearly dying from a tiger's counterattack four years ago, Su Shiyi had become much more cautious. Otherwise, he wouldn't have noticed the young man tailing him in the first place.
