Perhaps the Devil Abyss doesn't affect them, but no one has ever witnessed anyone flying across it."
Ethan nodded at her conjecture and silently agreed that he had reached the same conclusion after Virelle's mention of possible exceptions.
The notion that the abyss itself might recognize the forbidden beings as the only ones capable and deserving enough added another shiver to the mystery of this place.
Suddenly, a piercing scream split the air ahead of them, and they looked up in sudden shock.
