I stood in the kitchen for a long time not sure what to do after Edward left. I felt like a jerk. In fact I was a jerk for overreacting like that. I knew what he saw on my phone was damning.
There was no other way to see it. I didn't know why I became so aggressively defensive instead of just telling him the truth. We hadn't fought in a while and it didn't exactly make me feel good that I had made him cry. Edward was a tough nut to crack.
It wasn't easy to get to him but I did with just my tongue. It was a sharp knife and I wished I had chosen my words more carefully. With a sigh I pulled out my phone and saw that in two hours time Oksana and Demyan would be here with Elijah.
Neither of them would be too happy to see that I had upset their brother just when they started to like me. Plus we were supposed to celebrate Demyan and Elijah even if it was just over a short moment. We couldn't be chewing each other's heads at the same time.
