[Outside the Enforcer Prison Facility]
The heavy steel doors of the prison facility shuddered open with a groan, revealing Jack, Rex, Ender, and Selena blinking in the relative dimness of the night air. They stepped out into a scene of utter chaos with four Enforcers behind them. Spread before them in the dim floodlights was a standoff: D.E.I.S.T.R. agents [Kira Davies, Maria Millers and Hajime Tanaka] and five Enforcer soldiers stood facing each other, their weapons trained on Willow's subdued group and Aurora's captured team, who were huddled together in the middle. Rex's gaze frantically scanned the scene, finally landing on Arthur's still, injured form sprawled on the ground beside Claire and Maya.
Rex: Arthur... (He whisperer, taking a step forward, his voice laced with worry.)
"Not another step," one of the four Enforcers flanking them warned, his rifle aimed squarely at Rex's chest. The other Enforcer mirrored his stance. Rex hesitated, a muscle twitching in his jaw, before reluctantly stepping back.
Rex: I swear... I'm going to kill... every single one you inhumans... (He growled, his eyes burning with fury as he looked at the Enforcers holding his teammates.) You hear me?!?
One of the Enforcers thrust the butt end of his rifle into the back of Rex's neck, having him drop to the ground. "Shut it." He said, having his rifle aimed down at Rex.
Martin Shaw emerged from the line of Enforcers that have captured Maya's group, clapping his hands slowly as he approached the newly arrived group. He stopped directly in front of Jack, a cold smile playing on his lips.
Martin: Bring them to their knees...
The Enforcers follow his order with brutal efficiency, the butts of their rifles slamming into the backs of Jack, Ender, and Selena's heads.
The group crumpled to the ground, groaning in pain. Martin stood in the center of the assembled captives, surveying them with a sense of grim satisfaction. "Wow," he mused, his eyes flickering from Jasper to Jack.
Martin: You know, As if... seeing Jasper wasn't enough for nostalgia, I get to see you too, Jacob.
Jack took a moment, his head still reeling from the blow, before speaking, his voice strained.
Jack: We… We're in serious trouble, Martin.
Martin nodded slowly, his smile widening.
Martin: Yes you are. I will be taking three of you for damages you have done... Seven hundred and fifty four escapees are currently out because of... (He points at Rex) you.
Jack: No! That's not… (he started, a sharp pain lancing through his skull. He clenched his teeth, grunting, fighting against the onrushing visions.) Tch… That's not what I'm talking about!
Martin: (He raised an eyebrow, observing Jack's distress.) Yeah? Then what are you talking about?
Jack: There is a man… A very dangerous and unhinged man who is set on coming here to kill two people that are here RIGHT now!
Silence fell over the gathered groups. Martin watched Jack, noting the genuine fear in his eyes. "Just how dangerous can he be?" Martin finally asked, his tone curious. "Is he a red, black, orange?"
Jack: Worse! (He insisted, his voice trembling slightly.) He's not a mutant. He is death! He embodies death, and he won't stop until he achieves what he wants. We NEED to stop him and the only way we can is by getting Claire Watts and Phil Johns.
Martin gazed to Phil then back to Jack.
Martin: What does one of my men have to do with what he want?
Jack: He… he is killing people. People he claims aren't supposed to exist. He has already killed eight people and he's going to kill more and more if we don't get these two out of here!
Martin: Or... We can just kill him. Or have him imprisoned.
Jack: No, that won't work. That won't work, that won't work.
Martin: Why won't it work?
Jack: Because he can neglect our powers!
Martin: What?
Jack: Our powers... He's the reason why all of our powers are not working right now. That makes us weaker against him.
Martin: (His eyes narrowed.) Not… all. My Enforcers and I still have our abilities.
Jack: How– (The word escaped Jack's lips in confusion before Martin cut him off.)
Martin: Every mutant and other supernatural being we were keeping in there could have caused alot more destruction with their powers but they didn't. At first... I thought; Oh maybe the dampers have been turned on but no, the power surge made them useless. And your forces, especially you Jack would have all escaped out of here in no time.
Rex, his anger simmering, glared at Kira Davies.
Rex: You. Why are you standing next to tge enemy?
Kira met his gaze, her expression cold.
Kira: An agreement has been made, Rex, by Martin, and Viktor has agreed to it.
Ender: What?!
Rex: (He scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief.) Of course he did...
Kira: Be glad you alive, Rex. If he hadn't, chances are, you all would have died.
Jack: Oh, We are wasting time! (He suddenly screamed, his voice filled with panic.) We have to go now before its too late!
As the last word echoed in the tense air, a chilling voice, devoid of any warmth, echoed from the darkened entrance of the facility.
Revan: It's already too late...
Jack's eyes widened in pure terror. He lurched to his feet, already turning to the side, but before he could fully react, a sharp, agonizing pain ripped through his chest. Revan's arm, coated in blood, protruded from Jack's back, his hand clenching Jack's still-beating heart. Blood splattered onto Ender, Rex, and Selena, the gruesome sight sending a wave of shock through everyone present.
Jack gurgled, a strangled, desperate sound escaping his lips as life rapidly drained from his eyes. The last thing he saw was Revan's face, his eyes burning with a malevolent, blood-red intensity. Jack's body remained standing for a horrifying moment, Revan's arm impaling him.
From the other group, Ivy cowered, her breath catching in her throat. Her eyes, wide with panic, were fixated on Revan, the horrifying memory of the apartment flooding back.
The four Enforcers who had been guarding Jack, Rex, Ender, and Selena instantly drew their weapons, aiming at Revan. The cloaked figure turned his head slowly, his crimson gaze sweeping over them. A sudden woosh of wind was the only warning before Revan stood silently behind the four Enforcers, his right arm extended, a bloodied falchion clutched in his hand. The four Enforcers crumpled to the ground in perfect halves, their severed torsos hitting the earth with a sickening thud. The entire scene fell into stunned, horrified silence.
