Chapter 252 - Chapter 252 Different Reactions

It was over…

The clueless spectators could only offer enthusiastic applause. Although they felt like they had wasted their money on tickets, at least they had won some bets, even if the payout wasn't much.

The commentator girl felt a hollow emptiness, a sense of unfulfilled longing. She looked at Law, who stood calmly amidst the applause, and announced that Law had once again secured his second victory on the 200th floor with a knockout.

At the entrance of the passage, Atomu silently withdrew his gaze from the arena and turned to leave.

Both of Law's matches had ended quickly, so there wasn't much to glean from them.

However, Atomu could see that Law had indeed made significant progress, both in terms of physical fitness and Nen Techniques. This was evident from the lightning-fast offensive he had just witnessed.

From the perspective of a Nen User, Rester is not weak. However, his mastery of Ryu wasn't strong enough. When faced with Law's sudden punch, he couldn't effectively redistribute his Aura to defend himself, resulting in the knockout.

As the saying goes, there is no harm without comparison.

The fact that Riser was knocked out without any resistance highlighted Law's proficiency in Ryu.

In itself, advanced techniques like Ryu relies on talent, and there are some gaps that cannot be made up by hard work alone.

Before delivering that punch, Law had stopped concentrating most of his Aura in his legs. Instead, he relied more on his physical strength to achieve high-speed movement.

This allowed him to quickly gather Aura in his fist in the brief moment before the attack, maximizing its power. Combined with Rester's lack of effective countermeasures, this resulted in the one-punch knockout.

This was the clear difference that enhanced physical speed brought. Law no longer wasted excess Aura to assist his movements, which could have weakened his offensive power.

The Law of today was far from the Law Atomu fought in the tomb.

'It's only been a year…'

Walking through the empty, deserted passage, a trace of solemnity appeared on Atomu's face.

Aside from Biscuit, he was probably the person most qualified to comment on Law's progress.

A year ago, despite being caught off guard by Law's strategy and somewhat bizarre Nen Ability, Atomu could have easily killed him. Back then, Law's weaknesses were obvious, and his strength wasn't nearly as formidable.

After gaining a basic understanding of Law's Nen ability, Atomu had been absolutely confident that he could crush Law in a second fight.

However, after a year of training under Biscuit, Law's strength had skyrocketed.

Even if Atomu didn't want to admit it, he realized that Law had grown into a formidable opponent. Still, Atomu remained confident that he could defeat Law.

'Thankfully, it's only one year. If he had more time…'

A chilling killing intent suddenly radiated from Atomu's burly frame. Fortunately, the audience hadn't left the venue yet, and the passage was empty. Otherwise, anyone nearby would have been affected by his murderous intent, which could have affected their mentality.

That killing intent represented Atomu's true thoughts.

After witnessing Law's growth rate, Atomu genuinely felt threatened by him.

He planned to apply for a death match on the ring later, where he would kill Law in front of everyone. He was confident that Law wouldn't refuse a death match.

A death match was another victory condition in Heavens Arena, where the only way to win was for one side to die… a fight to the death.

For example, in the match between Law and Rester, if it had been a death match, knocking Rester out with a punch wouldn't have counted as a victory. The referee wouldn't have stopped Law from taking further action. Only by killing the unconscious Rester could Law have claimed victory.

This was the brutality of death matches. However, this mode could only be initiated if both participants agreed.

And once it began, the referee's role became almost negligible.

Tap, tap…

In the long corridor, the only sound was Atomu's increasingly heavy footsteps, as if reflecting the changes in his emotions.

Just as he stepped out of the tunnel, Atomu immediately stopped and looked at the hallway in front of him, where a young girl with golden hair was standing.

"What? Do you regret your earlier words now that you see such a promising talent? Are you here to warn me not to go all out?" Atomu said coldly as he stared at the golden-haired girl.

This young girl was Biscuit, who had noticed Atomu and left the venue ahead of time to wait for him here.

"How could that be?"

Biscuit smiled faintly and said seriously: "You are an extremely valuable source of experience for Law. If you don't fight him with the intent to kill, your value will be greatly diminished."

Atomu's expression immediately darkened, and he replied coldly: "You seem quite confident. I admit, his growth rate is astonishingly fast. But even so, I still don't see him as a threat."

"Besides, I've already told you, you're going to regret it."

"When he steps onto the 230th floor, I'll kill him right in front of you!"

Biscuit smiled and said, "I'm glad you feel that way."

Atomu frowned, then snorted coldly, and turned to leave.

The direction he was heading wasn't the most direct path, and it would take him on a longer, unnecessary route. But he didn't want to walk past Biscuit, so he chose to turn around.

The confidence displayed by Biscuit made him very uncomfortable, as if she thought he was bound to lose.

"Just wait patiently... for Law to challenge you."

After Atomu had walked about ten meters, Biscuit suddenly reminded him.

Atomu didn't stop, but his pace quickened. He understood Biscuit's reminder, as she wanted him to wait quietly for Law to climb step by step to his level.

Looking at Atomu's retreating figure, Biscuit's expression remained calm.

In fact, she didn't believe that Law was guaranteed to win. At Law's current level, a fight against Atomu would still be a tough battle.

After teaching Law for a year, Biscuit had come to understand the extent of Law's talents and qualifications. For a short period of time before that, she had even wondered whether the one-year agreement was a good idea or not.

But then she realized that such worries were foolish.

While facing Atomu again would be dangerous, if Law could overcome this hurdle, he would undergo a complete transformation.

Back in the venue, Law once again refused interviews, ignoring the reporters rushing toward him. He simply turned and left the stage, leaving the audience feeling unsatisfied.

In the stands, Uvogin and Nobunaga exchanged glances. With their current level of insight, they couldn't tell whether Law was too strong or Rester was too weak.

What they could confirm was that Law was still far stronger than both of them.

Despite this, Uvogin and Nobunaga were determined to challenge Law. Even if they lost, it would still be a valuable experience.

There was another person who came to watch the match, and that was Hisoka.

Because he felt that the lower-floor battles were too boring, he had only reached the 180th floor so far, and was still two wins away from the 200th floor.

At this moment, after witnessing the strength displayed by Law once again, he felt a deep sense of pressure.

This means... it will be extremely difficult for him to completely reconnect his head and ankle to his body.

After the match with Rester, Uvogin and Law went to apply for a match together. Their fight was scheduled for 5 PM the next day.
