Kingsly Scott returned home at noon.
The butler's expression was grim, and he seemed hesitant to speak.
Kingsly furrowed his brows and asked, "What happened?"
The butler, head bowed, sorrowfully confessed, "Mr. Scott, I overheard the madam on the phone... with a man, it seems."
The butler's words were implied, causing Kingsly's dark eyes to narrow. "Go on."
"I heard the madam call him 'William.' She said she couldn't stay here anymore and asked 'William' to take her away. She said she was miserable..." the butler finished, his voice trembling.
Kingsly stood still, his face turning stern.

Rachel Foster's slender figure stood silhouetted against the light at the floor-to-ceiling window.
His gaze, intense, was fixed on her.
Lost in thought, Rachel sensed his focused stare. She snapped back to reality and turned around to see his tall, handsome reflection in the window.
