"Grandpa must have been joking with you."
Kingsly Scott always had a lot of patience when dealing with Jackson Foster.
Jackson pouted. "No way, Grandpa told me so... He wasn't joking with me." The little guy said earnestly.
Kingsly squatted down, the tenderness on his handsome face fully displaying a father's love. "Daddy and Mommy are trying, but a little sister isn't something that just happens because you want it to."
Jackson's hopeful face immediately fell, and he pouted. "But Aunt Maggie said she could just have one... Aunt Maggie said she could give Jackson a little sister next year... Why haven't Daddy and Mommy been able to do it after trying for so long?"
Kingsly didn't respond immediately.
Jackson turned his innocent face up to look at Rachel Foster. "Mommy, is it because you and Daddy aren't trying hard enough?"
"Well..."
